I guess the crossing controls can have the bell ring while the gates are down, or stop when the gates get all the way down. The ones I see in person stop ringing when the gate is down. I've also seen some crossings with gates but without bells.
The FRA report on this crossing says that 3 were the main, 2 were others. I am assuming they're spurs. Now there's ony one spur left which made it from 5 tracks to 4.
Yes, I did. In fact I saw UP 2001 in Park City, UT leading a double stack the same day I took this video!! I think you can see 2002 somewhere around 01:28.

Was the gate installed backwards? Btw, the bells should've rang while the gate was down & silent when going up (@ least that's the way I'm used 2).

Are railroad wheels larger in diameter than truckwheels? I know they used to weigh about 900 pounds each of solid steel, right?
Also, this is kind of west of the heart of Cheyenne actually, I would say, but it is in the central area near downtown kind of.

The railroad crossing bells here in Plymouth County, MA also shut off when the gates lower.
wiley207 4 years ago
But they don't ring when they go back up do they?
Caltrain927 4 years ago
They do ring when the gates rise.

Who owns the track?
Caltrain927 4 years ago
Most of the trains that pass through the area are MBTA commuter trains, but we also get one or two CSX freight trains a day.
wiley207 4 years ago
Then likely MBTA Owns the track. I have never seen 1 CSX Crossing with bells that ring when the gates rise.

The striping on the gate is incorrect.
raildesigner 4 years ago
The end portion is the only stripes correct.
Caltrain927 4 years ago
have you ever seen them use all 3 tracks at once
eddieg749 4 years ago
No. I saw a couple coal trains go through using the 2 right tracks.

Small signals.
BRYLON123456789 4 years ago
They only look small. The lights on the signal in front of me were so low, you could easily touch them.
