I thought they mistreated Wade Wilson, too-he's just too clichéd. Pity-he's a great character, they could've had his wise-ass insanity more defined, but that's just me.
Rest of your review is spot on, though. I thought it was terrible, which is a pity coz I LOVED the opening and it just got progressively worse.
Cliché after cliché, in its characterisation and its storytelling, too much fanservice, and unnecessarily so, and just WORSE than what I was suspecting, which isn't saying much :(
My defense for going easy on these summer flicks is that it's getting harder to make truly hideous films. You can't make Mortal Kombat: Annihilation in 2009, there is just too much money being spent to "fail" that epically with a nationwide theatrical release. Retroactively, I should have thrown a chair at the screen during Transformers 2: Secret of the Ooze and Indy Jones 4: Crystal Cash In
I havent seen this film but from what I hear no one seems to like it, a few people have told me it's basiclly super heros running around yelling and screaming and stabbing each other.
I like the solution with the poster in the background and I also didn't enjoy Wolverine. But I'd probably keep the reviews shorter (max. 5min) and focus on essential points of your critics - keep it shorter. And from my experience keeping one take for several minutes without a break never works. People get bored. I'd say its be better to mix it up with trailer footage (for example...you talk about one aspect of your critic... few seconds trailer footage... next aspect... footage).
I've tried to liven it up with zooms accompanied with cuts, people just got mad. My viewership has increased 100% with the new format, but it takes no less than 6 hours to make these videos. Rapid cuts are simply going to depend on how fluent I am right after viewing the movie.
I try to focus on a things a little differently in my videos, whereas my written reviews follow the standard format familiar to followers of Roger Ebert.
i would give this movie like... idk. a 4/5 because some of the scenes and graphics were a bit too cheesy. other than that i liked this movie a lot. plus the acting was great except for that one dude who likes to use guns o.o lol. keep in mind im only 13, not the brightest knife in the drawer so yeah, lol.
Once again writers who really don't know anything personnaly about the chacters or the x-men like those first 3 x-men movies.Halley Berry was all wrong to play storm she had name recgnition
Actually Halle Berry's rise to stardom had nothing to do with the xmen series. It was all thanks to her other work during the same time. Being a Bond girl and winning an Oscar tend to boost an actress's career. Not a series where she was poorly casted no better than a bit player in an ensemble cast.
I said she "exploded in popularity/infamy through the course of the 3 X-Men films", not that these films made her famous. During the shooting on X-Men, she was winning awards for Introducing Dorothy Dandridge.
Thank you. I'm not one for "source material" movies to begin with. The majority of my favorite films were originally intended for the screen. There is so much trouble in making these comic book films, Marvel mostly has two varieties. There is Spider-Man which is excessively predictable for the first two films. Then X-Men, which bends the characters to fit the story, with mixed results. Half the characters in this film have powers other than those given to them in any comic.
What's the issue with "Jimmy" thinking he's Logan? If you read the comics this is exactly what happens. It's called Wolverine:Origins because there was a series of comics of the same name which follow the storyline in the film fairly closely..do research before you judge...
First, your research is based on a 2000 comic, Wolverine's "origin" story is garbage, way too revisionist. I'm holding the first comic he ever appeared in, I know my subject.
Second, he took the name Logan from someone, I recall that much. That means they should have shown how he adopted the name, instead of calling him both for the duration of the show.
Holding a such an expensive relic of marvel's unimaginitive past doesn't make you an expert. I'm fairly certain you haven't read the Wolverine series recently. The minor faux pas concerning wolvie's name is not something that bothers me.
My problem with you and critics like you, is that you give movies like this bad reviews for no good reason. You influence the masses into not seeing good movies based on your own malcontent with concepts foreign to you in novels and comics you've never read that make their way to the big screen.
This film is built for fans only, but betrays them with a mistreatment of characters. Quality films introduce every audience member to the concepts, not relying on source "fans" to come equipped.
Secondly, movie critic are not expected to do any source material "research". We rate the movies, not the mythology behind they are based on. Be glad I'm the only one with the free time to explore the "research" concept where applicable.
I agree w/ a lot of your named issues w/ this film, but I do have an excuse for Sabretooth not remembering Logan in X1- I think he allowed himself to become totally animalistic and had completely shed his human thinking. I can't explain the straberry blond hair he had though :/
i agree with your review, i liked it but the little errors you mention kinda take you out of the film a bit well it did for me, i did like it but it did not match up to x-1 to well in my opion, great review.
Yeah, I agree with you about the whole powers issue and what they did with Deadpool. Ema Frost looks weird and doesn't have any mental powers. Sabertooth has a healing factor, but I don't understand the ability to resist part either. I should probably look him up to make sure.
nice reiview you said wolverine did it rember who he was when he got shot with the bullet well maybe sabertooth lost his memory too before he join the botherhood thats why he dose it look the same just to let you know
Did you even pay attention to this story? Or do you suppose?

The CGI is bad in this movie. The part where he has his metal claws out the bathroom, yeah, that looked horrible. SEGA graphics are better.

Well, with the whole bullet getting cut in two, that isn't plausible in a movie, but a comic it's just fine?

The clothes don't scream '79 but I believe it takes place mostly close to '77. Very inconsistent.

She had some name recognition at the star of the series, then she really exploded in popularity/infamy through the course of the 3 X-Men films.

I clearly mistyped "star", meant "start".
