Neither are required. But don't worry, after the Forest Temple, you'll be able to go back in time and complete those events if you wish. Just keep playing along for now, you're fine. =)

in the sacred Grove part to the Temple in the start navi will tell you all that then she will fly up and become green the you should play the scarecrow song and teh scarecrow will come and you can HookShot him and you will have a short cut YAY

No. The Minuet of Forest and Bolero of Fire each have requirements, but those are outside of specific temples.

The Serenade of Water requires the Ice Cavern completed, the Nocturne of Shadow requires the Forest, Fire and Water Temples completed, and the Requiem of Spirit requires the Longshot/Hover Boots, the Lens of Truth, and possibly Epona.

I was leaving that for when we officially go to Lake Hylia for the Water Temple. Ocarina of Time is weird because you can go to just about any area whenever you want, but you can only get certain things as you get new items, unlocking new secrets. For this walkthrough, I tried to get everything in each given area when we're "supposed" to be there.

After you complete the Forest Temple, return to the Temple of Time and you will be able to go back in time. If you need more help figuring out how to get the Scarecrow's Song to work, go to our website and look at the Scarecrow's Song guide which explains it in detail and shows all of the locations you can use it.

Farore's Wind is optional. Din's Fire is required to enter the Shadow Temple. Sheik only moves after you have completed the Forest Temple.

The Hookshot is not a sidequest. Both Sheik and Navi tell you to go get it before you can enter the Forest Temple.

Same way you got the Adult Wallet (200 Rupee limit). Both of the Wallet upgrades are rewards from breaking the curse on the family in the House of Skulltula in Kakariko Village. Collect Gold Skulltula tokens and go claim the prizes.

10) Adult Wallet

20) Stone/Shard of Agony

30) Giant Wallet

40) Bombchus

50) Piece of Heart

100) Orange Rupee (200, can be gotten repeatedly)

The Scarecrow's Song allows you to reach certain shortcuts throughout the game and also is required to get specific Gold Skulltulas. As long as you don't plan on collecting all of the Gold Skulltulas, then there isn't much reason to worry about getting the Scarecrow's Song. If you just wait for the giant guard guys in the Meadow to turn their backs on you, you can rush them with a bomb and move on. Whole lot easier than dicking around with aiming your hookshot at a leg.

The Imps you refered to, they are not killed by the deku nut or projectiles, they flee from it. if you actually "kill" kill it, it'll leave a dlog eepur. a more epic and difficult way to flood your in-game wallet.

Caleb ~ After Link pulled the Master Sword from the Pedestal of Time, he was trapped in the Sacred Realm for seven years. In the meantime, Ganondorf returned to Hyrule with the Triforce of Power (one third of it) continuing to hunt down Zelda, because she has one of the other parts, the Triforce of Wisdom. There's a difference between needing to be "saved" and being "in hiding," though, yes, she does need to be saved by the end of the game.

Caleb ~ I dislike when guide writers only show the easy way - It's important to show the regular way as well. Because time stands still in the Sacred Forest Meadow, it was convenient to simply play the Song of Time to make it morning and show the shortcut real quick.

The Deku Nut doesn't kill the Skull Kids. You need a long rang item like the Biggorons Sword in order to hit it. If you do kill it, I think you get about 200 rupees.
