this is the camera that i've been lookin for..i really want this camera, but how,coz i have no money at all..I'm just a janitor..help please!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hmm.... Just bought the Canon SX40HS after debating between that and the Panasonic FX150, and am very happy with it, although looking at this video it looks as though the Sony video might be a little sharper! I guess they're all pretty close.
I have both the Sony WX9 and the HX9.. I did a short 20sec clip focused on the side of a brick house zoom WIDE then TELL on the highest in AVCHD and MP4 on both cameras and noticed the MP4 TO ME looks sharper and with better color the AVCHD looks somewhat foggy and not as sharp. I played the same clips on realplayer, windows, quicktime with all the same results.
How about zooming in close on an object (say a pen) from about 3 feet away (not point blank). On all of the auto settings and manually I just get a 'big' blur. It is really frustrating because I need to take some nice close ups of items I am selling and with a tripod a foot away from what I am taking pictures of I cannot focus in close using the zoom. I can take a picture point blank and I can take pictures at a distance. Am I missing a trick or something please?
@m171562 Ah, the highest format? Did you upload it straight? Or edit using Live movie maker? I'm wondering if Mp4 1080p would have the same quality of your video? Thank you :)
@Lownut I've uploaded it straight from the original camera footage. Camera does come with it's own editing software with which you can do basic cutting and combining of footages and still retain original quality (smart render). Original AVCHD footage is in 24mbit 1080 50p. YouTube then converts this to mp4 of around 4mbit 1080 25p. I'll upload the original video including some photos from the camera if anybody wants it.
@m171562 Ah thank you! Because I'd like to do videos but I find that recording with (i) has the frame effect thing on the propeller on aeroplanes. So it's either I stick to full 24mbit AVCHD 1080 50p or go MP4 1080p but I don't know the quality difference between both :o
