  • Du borde göra fler och sälja.

  • Man this is amazing.

  • Hubbard would be proud.

  • respect my friend. epic achievements all over the place :D

  • Even the fish in the background loves it! :-D

  • this sound SO epic. Cant you just put out a cd or so?

  • It was actually the in-game music that featured a rendition of Pink Floyd's "On the Run" and Philip Glass's "Pruit Igoe" and "Resource",

but none the less this an extremely great cover of the title music.

  • Real out of sync.

  • @mandokir you're out of sync...

  • This is GREAT!

  • Väldigt bra jobbat!

  • You should do some classic rock and this.

  • Those poor fishes in the background need new water! Guy, instead of playing this music, exchange the water, please! It looks like old chip fat.

  • You are awesome! Sound great, nice performance.

  • Incredible playing. I'll be a little honest, your Megaman 3 intro sounded like a somewhat simplified version but this shows off your piano skills. You excellently keep rhythm with your left hand while playing an awesome sounding lead with your right. You have excellent co-ordination and it shows that you have been playing for a long time. Good job and excellent chipophone!

  • Any intention to cover the Warhawk song ?

Btw, I tried to cover some Hubbard songs on the guitar and it was a nightmare. I'm amazed to see how easy they fit the keyboard compared to that.

  • How about trying the Boss Fight Theme from the Super Nintendo hit "Secret of Mana (Seiken Densetsu 2)" Could be a challenge...

  • Not worthy... this is awesome!

  • holy mother of god

  • Another brilliant song! I will still keep hassling about knucklebuster's though. Actually, that would be quite a challenge, considering it's length

  • Can I get one of those Chipophones or is there only one?

  • @Doommaster1994 There is only one.

  • Oh OK. I have some C64 sounds on my keyboards but that would be pretty cool to have.

  • @lftkryo just try to do another one :) and sell it :) i wonder how much can you get for it :) and a question... what was cost of yours GREAT chipophone in total

  • @lftkryo THERE CAN ONLY BE OOOOOONE!

  • Questionable wallpapers, but unquestionable musical performance. I like it.

  • I am one of the guys that gets video game/Indie game ideas in my head like 24/7, i though of an 8bit Indie game called "Jack" Where u played as a psycho and your mission was to break into places and murder people for money, in the final level there would be a car chase with you escaping the Police, FBI, SWAT teams and more, everytime i hear this i think of that idea :o probably cus it fits...

  • Cool, if you make it, I'll do it's music.

  • Simply amazing !

  • Good tunes never die! I loved this as an 11 year old C64 head and I LOVE it still.

  • That's my favorite of Glass. Great videos.

  • I love it! Great tune, great sound :)

  • OMG IT OWNS !!! O_O

  • If anyone already has the notes to this, I'd be delighted to know. I'm trying to learn from the video but I'm pretty bad at that sort of stuff.

  • Rob has some legendary tunes but this one was heavily inspired alright :) good job..

  • @Pulchism maybe think of it like a tribute :)

  • @biggiesmartypants mmm, maybe, but I seem to remember seeing an interview with Hubbard and he reckoned it wasn't that similar at all. Though he said he had been listening to the Koyan soundtrack at the time. A bit of a head scratcher for me...

  • @Pulchism I'd have to see the interview to know exactly what he meant. Since the influence is mentioned with all videos I doubt he really denies it. I've just been listening to the whole Delta soundtrack (the .sid from the HVSC), and a lot of parts don't sound like Koyaanisqatsi but more experimental and, indeed, just inspired by. So maybe that's what he was referring too.

Lastly, it should be noted that it's really easy to sound a lot like Glass: /watch?v=nNiOqa1nWgI

  • @Pulchism i mean this music: watch?v=02YBWKxDXPI . but it sounds best with sidplay2, or some other emulator it may be the best c64 music. (also i mean when the inspiration is that obvious, it's not stealing. i am a big glass fan as well)

  • @biggiesmartypants thanks for the link. I was only really familiar with the title screen. I couldn't find the interview I was talking about anywhere (maybe it just exists in my imagination :) ).

To qualify, I'm a fan of Glass and Hubbard. But I still think if the music wasn't on an obsolete computer game but was on an officially release CD there would be a lawsuit, and much lesser cases have won in court:eg the flute fill from "Men down under" being "robbed" from "kookaburra"!!! :-O

  • @Pulchism that could be, but if a court says it's illegal, that doesn't really hold me from forming my own opinion.

I've been pretty upset with the whole Timbaland thing some time ago, I'm sure you know it. Mostly I was upset though because he didn't say anything about it (probs for legal reasons though) and he used obscure tunes he got melodies from. Glass and Koyaanisqaski were really big though, so any music fan would recognize it as a Glass 'pastiche' or homage. Is (part of) my reasoning.

  • @biggiesmartypants I'd have to agree.. I'm all for creative freedom so long as its 'fair use' (if that's the right term) .I would think the artist should seek the original artist's permission though if its going to be a commercial venture, though unfortunately the original is still usually the property of some corporation who will just want to maximize profit. but I guess that doesn't really apply here, Rob probably didnt get a dumptruck of money for this one:)

  • hey man you should check this out seriously will be cool /watch?v=Ne9XYfE1x44

its a band that uses chiptune kind of sounds haha but there so good

  • i love this song an have been looking for it for so long!

  • games songs are sofuckin awesome... they are like "neoclassical" music but the job of the composers in the 20th century

  • Hey, out of curiosity, could you do some of the songs from the original Pokémon games? You know, red, blue, and yellow? I'd love to hear the game's theme music come out of that thing.

  • Try runaway by Dagrahamcracka.

I know it's not a game song, but it would be cool to see you try.(DON'T CLICK ON THE ONE WITH THE STICKMAN, IT COULD GIVE YOU A SEIZURE!!!!!!!!!!!)

  • Kan du inte ha någon spelning i Sverige? Hade lätt betalat 500 kr för en show med sån här musik live!

  • you could really work this thing out by trying the Lazy Jones sound track in it's entirety. Everything is based off the same basic melody and tempo

  • Anyone remembers ProAm racing game (nes)? This one would sound great!

  • Did you make this organ? Sell it to me!

  • Your fish get lots of chip goodness!

  • You should try... BATTLETOADS!!

  • outstanding - its really great !

Can you try to make a music from STARQUAKE - from atari ?? there is none on youtube or internet generally. thanks

  • As for the song suggestions: try GOAL 3 songs, they are simply amazing, one of the best on NES ;)

  • you got some skillz ,.,. great !!

  • Turrican 2 from the Amiga500!

    Might be too hard ''/

  • @KanbeiWarrior Turrican 2 sounds good, c64 version is more a chipophone thing though.

  • @KanbeiWarrior Turrican 2 on the Amiga wasn't using chip tunes, it used sampled instruments tracked to create songs.

  • @scyphe

Hence why it can be too hard? 8D

  • subbed and favorited! Amazing work!

  • Wow you're an incredible musician!

  • 0 haters watched this video

  • duuuuuude learn the f-zero sound track

  • I love it! Great Chiptune

  • I really like this song. big fan of chiptunes and koyaanisquatsi so this is perfect. Thanks for upping

  • Linus, you are a god damn saint (is that an oxymoron?) Such talent in so many areas, combined with such a humble attitude.

  • MOAR PHILIP GLASS

  • Please perform a Rygar medley, best 8-bit evar! btw I worship you

  • Just curious are your keys weighted? they don't look weighted.

  • @ethicks00 Nope, no weighting and no velocity sensing.

  • I don't understand why you didn't simply use the old swell pedal to control volume instead of making a fadeout button.

  • @frotz661 Currently, the swell pedal is mapped to release rate, which makes it act like a sustain pedal, but I haven't really found any practical use for it, so I'll probably change it to something else. Possibly volume.

  • metroid =D plz

  • Still hoping for some Cheetahmen myself.

  • Awesome.

  • excellnt work!! congrats!

  • Can I simply request more? Awesome stuff ( and I will excuse the nintendoites for failing to see the superiority of the C64 :p)

  • How did you make your chipophone, what's it inside like?

  • @Youpuber Its an electric organ thats been reprogrammed to become an 8 bit synthesizer

  • @lgr1991

rebuilt, not reprogrammed. Check out his homepage and you will see.
