    Nuff said.

  • @SepticSchizoid1 I get chills from that part every time.

  • I Lost The Words Coming Out Of My Mouth.

  • Its been less than 8 hours since I listened to In Fiction (first song i ever heard by Isis) thats been 8 solid sleeples hours...

  • 1st time i heard isis they were opening for neurosis at the middle east in boston doing mosquito control ....so totaly heavy was the begining of my love

  • There's not a lot of bands today that give me goosebumps. Isis does, and it sucks that they're not around anymore.

  • Listen to Panopticon on a long drive.

    Thank me later.

  • @EdibleBucket Yeap, done, 2 years ago, and still in mind. Perfect song to memorise a long night-road travel.

  • @Gohrgohr Isis probably made this album for it.

I don't even hesitate putting this on when I go to the coast.

  • @EdibleBucket Thank you? You almost got me killed. I nearly lost control having a transcendant experience to the ending of "So Did We".

  • out of this world

  • Isis 4ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • They never played it live?

  • 4:23

    Simply amazing.

  • Would not have thought to combine Isis with Neurosis--great call! Both groups drastically underrated.

  • @AnimusSapientia Isis is heavily influenced by Neurosis.

  • Rise in the morning air

Greeted by cinders of the dead

    Syndic calls your name

Show your thinned face at the window

Is this the next last day?

Prepare to be carried by the "crows"

    Heavy hand upon the land

    Feel it's weight inside you

  • Very King Crimson!

  • @Zeta9966

    King Diamond is better. Poser.

  • @APPLEAPPS1 eehehehe

  • @Wyndrax You really shouldn't be so hard on yourself!

  • reminds me of a cross between Bathory and a little of Amon Amarth, fuckin nice

  • dreszcze!

  • i just came...

  • this song is dulcinea's older/better big brother lol

  • Walls of sound wash over me when ever I listen to Isis. Eargasm, is the only word that comes to mind.

  • to me, isis are like mogwai with ten times the passion, none of the boredom. mogawai are good too, but they are not consistently as brilliant as isis.

  • love the growling

    this band is superior

  • Alejandro, i know what you meen about the Cure reference. Has that same heavy atmosphere and simplistic beauty to it at the same time as sounding like a huge wall of noise,Isis are becoming one of my favorite bands,i just wish they would sing more instead of that shit growling that distracts from the music for me! New album has more actual vocal and is awsome.

  • actually i think that the growling that aaron turner does adds alot of texture to the noise sorta music they got going on and its one of the things that defines them as a post metal/ sorta heavy band. then right after listening to the heavy parts of songs, they just go forth and blow your mind with amazing tranquil ambiance.

  • it sounds pretty close, dude.

  • I play this at the same time as "shadow" by neurosis(open i-tunes and play as this plays) sounds awsome. Just really starting to appreciate Isis. With so many talentless, cookie cutter bands around,Isis stand out like a shark in a bathtub, awsome.

  • fuck yea

  • @legniak1 That's actually really crazy

  • @legniak1 YOU ARE AN IDEA MAN, LEGNIAK... thumbs up on the collaboration

  • @legniak1 haha i thought i was the only one describing mainstream music (of any musical genre... but ESPECIALLY ROCK/METAL) as "cookie cutter bands".

  • @legniak1 that works such a treat haha nice one :D

  • IS THIS

    THE NEXT

    LAST DAAAAAAAY

    F**k yeah ISIS rock!

  • instrumental ending is amazing just draws u in best in head phones while walking alone !!!!!!

  • i know I get very reflective about myself and the world when I listen to Isis

  • I often walk around my hometown just listening to the second half of this song for hours. Truly love this tune!

  • 1. Sorry 4 Eng. ,

    2. My favorit ISIS song, jondav2006 tnx 4 posting it!

    3.

neveralonewLamps , tnx 4 explaining the meaning of lyrics!

4.Greetings from Belgrade, Serbia to all !

  • This whole album is obsessed with the idea that mankind is being watched and controlled by the government in an insivible way, like in George Orwells 1984.

In the time of the plague in Europe, when most of the population died, the Syndics were orders for the people to stay at home and not to go out. When "Syndic Calls", it means you are being enclosured, repressed, in this case, you have a metaphorical "plague". This is, i believe, a metaphore for the repression of individual freedom.

  • I've resisted Isis for a long time, and I'm not really understanding how Panopticon covers this ideal. I guess it doesn't help when there's not too many lyrics and I can't understand the instrumental music yet...I only heard it once.

  • awesome, thanks for the info. I think a Panapticon is like a police like state, It literally means like a place/room/state where one can be seen at all times, very Orwellian. Nice comment.

  • excelente tema de isis!

  • you have to listen to the music, and admire what theyre not playing, that wa you can admire what they are playing, and you can like the track better.

  • yeah the last two thirds of this song is one of the greatest musical moments of all time

  • I completey agree!

When i first heard it, it nearly blew my mind.

    Very cool.

  • This might upset some people, but for me, Isis is like a really, really heavy The Cure, especially Disentigration. Fucking love that album. Let me know if you think it's similat. I'm not talking about Robert Smiths lyrics, strictly ina musical sense.

  • ISIS 4 ever...4:23 starts my favourite part!!

  • Yeah. It's pretty epic.

  • is the title of this song 'Syndic Calls' as in: the plural of a syndic call or meaning- syndic is calling?

  • Not sure it matters either way. A "syndic" was a street authority in plague-stricken Europe who made sure everyone was locked in their houses, who kept watch and reported to superiors if the plague was spreading.

For the lyrics, the "syndic calls" you, because you have the plague.

  • WHAT AN ALBUM!! Sheer brilliance!!
