When I first listened to this - one of the first days after it had been released - I thought: "Hell yeah, the good old times are back!" The same great old mixture: solid funkpunkrockcrossover + fantastic lyrics + lots of musicality! There's no need to value this great album less than The Uplift Mofo PP or Freaky Styley or Blood Sugar Sex Magik or whatever great stuff they've ever made. And you know what? I bet Hillel would have loved it.

Eminem has had huge success, I definitely consider him mainstream rap. Personally he's one of my favorite rappers, though i'm not much into his recent stuff.

I don't largely prefer either mainstream or alternative efforts. Both have good music to offer, but my tastes have become more and more outlandish, I actually listen a lot to tv and movie scores now.

Really, what's the problem with being either of them? As long as it's music and people can appreciate it, I think all discrimination is wrong. i find it annoying that most people dislike this album and complain about it.. saying it's shit and they have sold out.

Although I would agree and say the songs all have a very similar style about them, in no way do i think it's soft. Every song on both cds is enjoyable to me. especially We believe. And i'm a major fan from way back when.

Anthony's lyrics are always beautiful. and the song structures are always so interesting. and every song has so many different genres compressed into one. LOVE
