My answer to the question would have to depend on which version of "God" and "The Devil" we're talking about, since there are so many different interpretations of their natures and motives. There are some versions of the story (and not just out on the fringes, either) in which I would be inclined to call Satan the more upstanding and honorable of the two.

Whether either of them is worthy of my "worship" remains to be seen, but I have to know the full story before passing judgment.

From what I understand (and I have read LaVey's Satanic Bible) most Satanists are simply atheists with a mystic or theatrical leaning. They don't really view Satan as a person, merely a force within the human mind. The whole pomp and circumstance of Satanic ritual is just a way to mock Christianity.

I don't think the term "evil" works in that regard. We tend to apply this term to an unpleasant or unfortunate circumstance and it doesn't really have a lot of merit. God, in the bible, comes off to me as someone who is arbitrary and capricious and would fit the mold of "evil" if I were to label him. Since I don't believe in him, that's not a big deal - but I can understand why someone would side with the opposition if they did, if that makes any sense.

Well, the idea that all religions are true is a very, feel-good, new-age viewpoint that discounts all of the impossible to reconcile differences in different religions. Well I take issue with this "worse" aspect of this premise, as I'm an Atheist. Some atheists are assholes, some are good people. The same could be said for theists ,as most of my friends are Christians. But that's a whole different topic IMO.
