Another consistently good album by Megadeath. I am blown away by Dave's ability to produce good music. I really wish Metallica could play like they used to. Death Magnetic is a step in the right direction, but anything after St. Anger would be an improvement.
I agree, that's why I think Megadeth is better than Metallica, and are my favorite band, they happen to produce awesome music, while still at least remembering and keeping to their roots. This album is the closest Megadeth got to their pure roots, which makes it a great one too.

If you listen to the actual studio edit, it stays the same volume. And at the end, with the final riff, he boosts it from 50 to 100% which was quite unnecessary.

sound different than wasted years to me. I think how it harmonizes with the drum beat and chords make a difference in how the riff sounds. But even without those I don't think its exactly the same as wasted years.

if you watch all the "Metal That Sounds Like Other Metal" videos on here, you'll notice how Metal can be very simular, without being direct ripp-off's
I'm sure Mustaine's got enough brains, not to ripp Maiden off, but hey; I made a guitar riff some weeks ago, and when I played it in dubble tempo, it was the intro riff from "Aggressive Perfector" that I'd "ripped-off". Shit happens, and If you ask the man, you can REALLY hear that he didn't

This is because sacales. You can't except Dave composing a wrong riff just because a Maiden's song sounds similar. And it has differences, even if you cannot see them.

never though of saying this about megadeth but yes the opening riffs are very similar to a latin power metal band called rata blanca and yes the riff at .36 sec its very similar to that of wasted years, i know dave mustaine is a very big fan of iron maiden but... any way megadeth is still great and very pleasant to hear
