Its more like a master and apprentice or mentor and protege most of the time. Rigsby and Grace have much more sexual tension between them, and so do Jane and Lisbon. Just my opinion, though.

This is how I, personally think things should play out between the characters,
Lisbon saves Jane's life after he gets himself into a sticky situation involving Red John and both come close to death, in the heat of the moment they kiss (you know, once everything is safe again) and then they realise that it would never work out because Jane is still and always will be in love with his wife. This will be awkward between them but they will find a way to make it less awkward.
Rigby and Vanpelt notice something going on between Jane and Lisbon but can't figure out whats going on, and then Cho fills them in. Vanpelt talks about how she is lonely without thinking, and then Rigsby, in his way suggest going to get a pizza to cheer her up. They both get close and perhaps something happens but Vanpelt is too worried about her job so she calls things off, but they can't stay away from eachother because they work together and decide to be together on the downlow for a while.
I've seen the show and I think nor Grace and Rigsby, nor Patrick and Lisbon have chemistry, I don't like them together and I never will, while I obviously love the idea of Patrick and Grace together. If you don't like them, simply don't post here and avoid to post harsh comments, as these videos are up for those who clearly feel the same way I feel (and they're a lot). Thanks.
Just stating the obvious. And i think you may be trapped in your own little fantasy with this show because seriously if you don't see Rigsby and Grace then you're not really watching. the producers are making it painfully obvious. Watch 'bloodshot'. You'll change your mind. Or continue to be mad because i just said what everyone else knows is quite obvious.
