This is a real good performance, of course Clare Torrey's will always be better, Clare was and is incredible good, but this one is one of the better i heard of the
different PF tribute/cover bands. Ola's voice is not so good from 4:00 - 4:20.
@PFFAN58 I respect your opinion. Clare is the original so she's always gonna be the best! And Ola's voice at the end is imitating the end of the actual song where Clare's begins to fade and break up! - Well either that or she's a bit knackered after that!
Huge Pink Floyd fan here, seen Australian PF 3 times and I would see them again anytime... Since I cant get to see the real thing, this is the best one I can possibly get.
And I've heard this song live... The sound quality doesnt do justice, this girl blew my mind in concert, she has the greatest voice !
The Best tribute you could possibly do Pink Floyd is doing it the way they did it! Great job! Gives someone a little bit of a likewise live performance.
I've had the privilege of seeing Floyd in the 70's during their "Dark Side of the Moon" release tour. When I this tribute I was blown away by the precision of their performance. When listening to their version of "Comfortably Numb" with my eyes closed I actually thought I was back in the 70's listining to the real thing! I recommend this tour to everyone including those who have seen the real thing!!! I know there's nothing like the real thing but....these guys are damn close.
Sorry, but Pink Floyd is the ONE band in the world that NOBODY should ever cover. There is no substitute and I don't care how "close" they come to the real thing.
but after some reflection I think its pretty cool for the younger ones
(like me who never had the CHANCE and the HONOR to see the Pink Floyd live)
I know that it IS NOT Pink Floyd, but having spent lot of time listening to these masterpieces, its pretty cool to be able to hear a live performance CLOSE to the ones Pink Floyd used to make. Cool to see lots of PF fans, and to see a great show.
they're comming to SF soon... but I wish they'd come to a different Venue...maybe Masonic Center Again? How about the Shoreline ampitheatre??
who do we have to speak to to get them to play in a decent place and not a bar. No offense "THe Filmmore"...i only wish they'd play where there are more seats...Cheers Mates!!
when i went to see them couple years ago, was scared when the song began.. these vocals are hard to pay homage to and sound good (to say the least)... but at the end of the number i had tears in my eyes and chills all over. fantastic!!!! <3
*was also surprised at how well they performed the vocals on One Of My Turns and Don't Leave Me Now :3 *
Can anyone help me out, and let me know do they tour in the U.S.? If so, are they touring now, or when does it start? I have to see them. I will not give up until I experience this live.
I've seen these guys twice, the last time when they appeared at the Cambridge Corn Exchange. Bloody briliant! The only Pink Floyd tribute band that plays it like the original. (I've seen the genuine article play three times - the last time at Earls Court in early nineties where they did the whole of Dark Side Of The Moon. )
Great vid. The recent Durham NC show, they had two different girls doing the vocal parts. they split it up, one girl doing the first part, and a second doing the softer 2nd part. These guys are fantastic, and IMHO outplay what Floyd did on Pulse.
we bought the video during the concert break, but it's seems almost complete different band ,kinda sad........but i got a nice purple pink floyd shirt, hehe
Aah saw these 2 years ago in Carlisle, truly an awesome show, ahm sure it was the same lass who delivered this piece then.......almost made me cream! ah would advise anyone of the younger age group who did not see Pink Floyd to go and see these...........fuckin ace......
I saw them here in Portland do The Wall, and then selected hits which included this song. The first hint that I had that they were something special was on "Goodbye Blue Sky" when they NAILED the harmony. Then, when this song came around, I was nervous. These are HUGE shoes to fill, and Ola NAILED it as well. I was SHOCKED at just how good she was, and how good the band was in general.
There was another APF video clip posted here where the poor girl, try as she might, was kind of having an off night & hit a few painfully flat notes. But here--WOW--she nailed it. Nothing short of astounding. Any time any female singer takes on the MASSIVE job of re-creating Clare Torry's tour-de-force vocals on that song, and pulls it OFF...well, she has my respect, that's for sure. Well-done, girl...VERY well-done.
i'm not a singer at all, but this is everything i would strive to be. i don't think you can beat the vocal. not by her in particular but on the actual track! awesome part!
We love you Ola, can't wait for you in Katowice again!!
