@thelordofspace A notice for the event was posted on the ingame news on December 23rd. That's how I found out about it. btw, I'll be announcing such events on this youtube channel when I'm made aware of them. Hopefully that will help so you don't miss out on any future events. o/

I was there... At 1:56 and again at 3:02, providing logistics support... And, fyi, in system population got up just over 1800, before the node crashed...

@patch4127 My client got disconnected before it reached that number and when I was able to log back on local was at 1500s. I had no idea local went up to 1800. That's impressive.

@JonnyPew No... EVE is set thousands of years in the future... Also the years they use start at the Yoiul Conference (Which happened in Earth Year 23236 A.D.), the length just so happens to be the same as our year..

On the official EVE Wiki, the last update to the timeline was July YC112; so I assume 'now' the EVE Cluster is in year YC113.

How did you get such awesome frames? I've got a fairly decent specced PC and only got about 5fps with teh fireworks going off

@gconneely92 There's no trick to it. Well...to keep it simple, I've got an intel i5, 4GB ram, nvidia gtx 470 and I used Fraps to capture the footage. What are your specs?

@JonnyPew Hm, very similar specs to mine. I'm running an intel i7, 4gb ram and a nvidea gtx560, used fraps also. Maybe I should have knocked the graphics down a bit

@gconneely92 I don't know why your FPS is so low. I can run all but large fleets (200+) and certain ridiculously system hungry graphical effects *cough* cyno blob *cough* at a perfect FPS on my system with all the graphics maxed, i5 2500k, 8gb RAM and a Radeon HD6970 2gb. Worst frames I think I had was a stable 12fps during a gate fight between our ~200 man shield fleet and a similarly sized armour battleship gang (we owned them by the way)

@du1987de Well my frames are usually fine too, but the fireworks display had a few thousand people watching it, probably why it slowed down so much, just a bit confused

@gconneely92 there is a trick that could be done to the same effect in a low frame situation, setting the recorder to run at the same fps as EVE, that should return a video that runs it smoothly. this is based off my knowledge of Sorce Recorder, used in Valve's HL2 and Gmod

@SebastianLaFleur Since I love sci-fi, I consider EVE Online to be the most beautiful mmo in existence. I appreciate the compliment on my camera work because I spent 3-4 hours editing the raw footage down to 9 minutes. Happy New Year!
