If i was there i would explain to the student the far sited visions of Den Xiaoping (the Great leader of China at that time)and what his NEW Capitalistic system/theory will do for China in the future. Immediate push for revolution will collapse the country. China "our motherland" will find our own kind of human rights and freedom, differ from the west.
