'The Day Time Stood Still' is one of ER best episode. it definitely ranks in the top ten. it is one i can watch over and over. it never fails to make me cry either. i remember being surprised when the guy attacked and when he saw lucy. and then thinking lucy would come through it but wasn't so sure about carter. and then was really suprised when she took a turn for the worst and carter lives...

The schizofrenic returns to the ER in season 8 because he cut his head, Abby tries to transfer him to another hospital so Carter won't see him but she fails, the schizofrenic apologizes for what happened before and tells Carter that it was the disease.
Lucy's injuries were too severe, she should of have died earlier in real life but the producers had to put it like that so the episode would be more dramatic and interesting, still I believe that in real life Lucy could of have never been stabilized to go up to surgery, she should of have died in the ER because of a shredded aorta or proximal injury to the aorta.

Abother thing I liked about this episode is it was one of the rare instances Romano didn't act like a hard ass. You knew he was a good guy deep down, but ya loved to hate him. You could tell just how angry and guilty he felt that he was unable to save her life. I remember being hit by his anger and grief over her loss...it showed he truly cared for her.
Definitely one of the saddest moments in ER. It ranks up there with The Letter (for those who don't know, that was the show the staff found out Mark Greene had died of brain cancer). Excellent video.

Carter dosen't die in this episode, Lucy does...Carter does get stabbed and recovers, however he becomes addicted to pain meds soon thereafter and starts to have some mental health issues.
yep! they never delved into romano's life, i never understood why he was that way. it would've been really interesting to see why he became such a hard-ass. he lived on his own and no-one came to see him when he lost his arm. that was sad.

yep! they never delved into romano's life, i never understood why he was that way. it would've been really interesting to see why he became such a hard-ass. he lived on his own and no-one came to see him when he lost his arm. that was sad.

very well done! the whole story is in it. one of the best er episodes but i'm sure it is the one making everyone cry. why did she die and not just was hurt. it seemed so well at first :( and romano showed he's human what makes it even more worse

This episode was not shown in Germany because it was to bloody!! Thats so mean! I'd like to see it full lenght so bad!
