Fascinating! I have a copy of the LP, "DisinHAIRited," which is where I first heard the song, "Exanaplanatooch." This recording by Roslyn Kind is the first time I have heard another version.
If you guys think the only reason she's not as successful as her sister is because she sounds like her, you need to think again. Roslyn is a talented singer. Streisand is a genius who has innovated in every area of the arts she touches.
Almonkitt, where did you find the Exanaplanatooch single? What label is it on? I can't find mention of it anywhere on the internet. I want it! I presume it came out after her two RCA LPs? I suspect she covered the song because the US Hair LPs were also on RCA.....some record label connection or other.
Exanaplanatooch. It was written by Rado/Ragni/MacDermot for the Hair musical, but pulled before it reached Broadway. Fantastic song, and a great version. There are other versions of it on the London cast Polydor LP, "Fresh Hair", and the US Broadway cast RCA LP, "DisinHairited". I prefer the London version. But this one is super.
Roslyn Kind, Barbra Sreisand's sister is very talented. The only reason that she isn't as "successful" is because she sounds a lot like her sister. She's terrific. I wish she would make more music.
