  • Who is your god now ?

  • @knicks3085 Living is the point! and it's awesome

  • Perfection, true work of art - extraordinary, my mouth is wide and tears filled my eyes.

  • im totally into metal. but this is simply amazing. its a master piece

  • Tears in my eyes when this part came up in the movie.

  • this gives my soul a bonner

  • Superbe musique de l'Univers. Nous venons tous de là-bas et y retournerons tous comme l'ami du compositeur Zbigniew Preisner. Un grand merci!

  • "Tree of life" doesn´t need an oscar.

It will stay for several generations

as an ode to life on our blue planet.

  • @xtremekajaker so true!

  • @xtremekajaker Thats perfect! "An ode to life on our blue planet"

  • when i listen to this song i realize how little we are in this universe.

  • earth of best

  • Magistral, saludos desde Chile.

  • I dont feel the way like most of you. The fact is yes we are a spec in the universe...and that really frustrates me. Sometimes i wonder what is the point..once your gone, everyone else you know will be gone. Itll be as though you never existed. Ugh..this life i never signed up for this.

  • this movie worth oscar of photography and music

  • This entire scene is what I feel is the true definition of beauty. The effects in Tree of Life are just stunning. This scene, when added with the song, is just too hauntingly beautiful to describe.

  • TREE OF LIFE = NO OSCAR

  • How on earth did a black and white silent film win best picture over this masterpiece? Screw the Academy's.

  • best movie I've ever seen

  • DIVINE... Simply Absolute!

  • I felt really depressed today but watching this puts everything into perspective. We are tiny specs floating on a tiny rock in a inexplicably vast and painfully beautiful universe. Whatever is getting me down is almost laughable is comparison. Who could possibly care about the stupid bullshit of our day to day lives after watching something like this? In the end, no one will remember who you were or what you did. Mine as well try to make the best of your time by loving yourself and everyone else

  • @SnappleFactoids Sums up my thoughts about the movie too...beautifully said!

  • @SnappleFactoids Very well said!

  • 2:04 jesus?

  • it means weeping in latin

  • i cant ..describe what i feel ...i cant think of another way to describe EVERYTHING.

This is that rare, very rare thing that is going straight to my soul, then its taking it in its warm hands, and then ...gently, is kissing it and smiling is putting it back at its place.

This song creates that rare moment when, you really understand why you should be happy with everything you got, and that feeling cant be put in words, not now, not ever.

Respect who you are, respect what you got, be happy.

  • @Sodob1992 you should also try Vide Cor Meum, simply brethtaking as well, on the same level as this composition. Even though it is sung by young 20 somethings still earning their stripes the do a great job of getting to your soul.

  • @rckflare tnx buddy :)

  • stunning. makes you forget about a lot of the petty dramas that occur everyday.

  • @enoching7 I apologize. My bad.

  • Beautiful. The music creates imagery of it's own but in combination with the film it is breathtaking.

  • @MrQuaker62 Hear that? It's the sound of no one giving a sodding shit. Not only do you execrate one of the year's most gorgeous films -- you even admit yourself to be a pompous cunt. If you want to conflate pretentiousness with artistic vision, then that's your prerogative, but it does not by any means grant any validity to your poorly-based opinion. This is a masterful achievement in cinematic artistry, and your high-minded misunderstanding doesn't do anything to tear it down.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrQuaker62 Well, allow me first to apologize for my vulgarity; it was rather rude of me. I think it is a very significant achievement in impressionistic film, but my reasons are my own; I'd never just regurgitate the thoughts of another. In all honesty I can see why you didn't like the film; I just don't appreciate that you came to this video with the sole intention of tearing it down. You're far more articulate than most dissenters, and I hope a second viewing changes your mind about the film.

  • @CaptainMorganThe3rd Allow me to apologize. I lashed out because I knew I missed something that others saw, so in frustration ,and this is embarrassing, I simply decided that if I couldn't "get it" then nobody else could. That's damned arrogant of me. I will see it again & ,no doubt, will almost certainly come out of a second viewing with a better feel for it. It was visually stunning so I do look forward to that. I'm sorry I was an ass, to use the old cliche, "it isn't you, it's me'. Peace!

  • @MrQuaker62 Peace to you, too, friend. No need to apologize! Just watch and enjoy. It's a beautiful film :)

  • Invenio pace musicae

  • Tree of life stole my bike

  • Decent movie; pretty pretentious though, mainly due to all the whispering..still I enjoyed it, although if I had it my way, it would be this for 2 hours.

  • is this a movie ?

  • i want have a sex with this song

  • @HangZhien have sex with Requiem - Mozart am sure you gonna feel you are the king of the world

  • @HangZhien That is the greatest idea of all!

  • @HangZhien ok, which sex you want a have?

  • @HangZhien With yourself? Egads, that sounds exhausting

  • @tatino2713 Uranus.

  • @Federfleisch I don't wanna be mean, but have you ever wondered if you are a superficial guy?

  • @Federfleisch This movie was amazing. go watch transformers

  • Such an amazing movie.

  • This movie gets a LOT of undeserved hatred... It makes me sad and disconnected from humanity..

  • 1:29 and 1:09 OMG THE UNIVERSE IS A BRONY!!!

  • nearly forgot to watch this today

  • beauty ... beauty ... where does it ends ?

  • Therefore I know you understand me, because tears felt in wonder will make you more beautiful than you already are. And a reason to cry is not always from pain, but somehow from the undefinable spirit that abides in people of mystery and of love. The world is full of tears and they will never cease. Not until the day we truly listen and learn that music can soothe all men if they will only allow themslves to feel its message. Continue to feel like you do my kind friend. Paul.

"Lacrimosa" - is a composer Zbigniew Preisner. ...Lacrimosa Mozart, music is different

  • @tatry13 Es cierto, me he confundido, Lacrimossa no es de Mozart, Saludos..

  • Damn I would like somebody to keep me up to date every single time regarding video clips like this one :-\ . If there are any other such amazing clips on youtube that I haven't seen ... damn ...

  • C'est putain de beau! :D

  • I love this movie! When the characters - specially the lady - say those small sentences with so much meaning, it's just beautiful

  • will emanuelle lebzki win the oscar? the answer is YES

  • @lachatalagorda please be right.

  • i tried watching this movie the other day: i fucking hated it. After i got tired if this space stuff i fast forwarded it. this shit went on for an hour......AN HOUR. there is no point of even having a plot if all your are going to show is people for 2 minutes and this BS for 10 minutes. THERE WAS BARELY ANY HUMAN INTERACTION AT ALL. i just don't get what volcanic eruptions and meteorites have anything to do with dealing with a dead child. Yeah sure all of it was pretty but it just wasn't for me

  • @PeaceLovePink223 That is sad to hear. I enjoyed nearly every minute of this movie. It was like a poem for my eyes and ears and it really made me tear up from time to time. Would be nice if we could share that joyous feeling :)

  • @PeaceLovePink223 There's always some "Transformers: Revenge of The Explosions" for you. ;)

  • @PeaceLovePink223 Go watch the Star wars franchise again, maybe they have plot enough for you.

  • I kinda hope the world ends this year lol.. if it's as beautiful as this, then it's worth it haha

  • I believe this movie is about a 'higher Being/Energy' and about 'Reincarnation'....

  • i jerk off to this song, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

  • hey you guys, i liked this movie

  • my fav part 0:49

"MABRI MA LA SA, YO-BRI MI EI SA, MABRI EI EI SA, MABRI EI EI SA. MAAABRII IEEE SAAA MABRII EIIIII SAAA!! MABRI EIIEEE SAAAA!!!"

  • @adminoperator UHM you misheard this . this is "Lacrimosa"

  • Epic.

  • Artistic ... spectacular ... Thanks .

  • This film was pure art. I loved it.

  • this short video gave me 5 waves of goosebumps. incredibly powerful. extremely beautiful.

  • Creo que es espectacular y que no hay mas y mejor definición que esta " ESPECTACULAR "

  • if The Tree of life won't get the oscar of best picture, we all should stop watching hollywood movies..

  • @simbroom that's fine with me because the tree of life is in many ways not a hollywood movie :)

  • 2011 best picture FTW

  • Not gonna lie, I teared up quite a bit during the formation of the universe scene when this music reached its peak. It was just so beautiful and awe-inspiring.

  • I believe that God exists. And that God is love. :)

  • @Transformers217 corny

  • "The Tree Of Life" is one of the greatest, most beautiful, and most profound films ever made. It completely captures humanity's intense, complex, and emotional relationship with God.

  • @Transformers217 i wouldn't go as far as to say that. while that sequence of creation is absolutely beautiful, i feel the movie as a whole tries too hard to be something metaphysically profound but falls very short from what they tried to achieve.

  • @BigRedEyed I don't think it tries too hard, because it achieves it very easily. It's a very profound, beautiful, thought provocking, and emotionally impacting experience. And it is definitely the best picture of 2011 in my opinion.

  • @Transformers217

Most of the people involved in the making of the movie weren't even religious. I don't understand how you can degrade such beauty by contributing it to an archaic god. This movie made me an even bigger non-believer than i already was, truly humbling the universe it all its beauty. Besides, strong name to post correlation.

  • @Basketalbi I'm just going by what the film presents. It shows us scripture at the beginning of the film, before it even starts. I think the film is about mans relationship with God. When the mother is asking God why her son was taken from her, Terrence Malick shows us the creation of the universe. It's like Malick was trying to show us God's answer to the mothers questions. God is showing us that our own pain, is small compared to his creation. Look at the beauty and appreciate it.

  • @Basketalbi So it's not degrading the beauty of the film, by acknowledging what it's about. The scripture at the beginning of the film, clearly indicates that this masterpiece is completely about God. At least in my opinion.

  • @Basketalbi So you think it's a coincidence that he happened to put in "the eye of god"?

  • @NOHHissue

Ever heard of something called a metaphor, come on people can't be that dumb.

  • Anyone knows who's the performer in this version that appears in The Tree of Life???

  • @Rebeca95ify Her name is Elzbieta Towarnicka, and she features as the main soloist in Preisner's Requiem for a Friend where this piece is from. Beautiful voice...beautiful music!

  • Most people do not know that this is funeral music.

  • @kingofmilwaukee6969 Its not a funeral piece, but taken from a larger piece, Requiem for my friend, a memorial to Kieślowski (a friend of the composer). Its a celebration of life, not a mourning of death. It's well worth a listen, search for Zbigniew Preisner: Requiem for my friend

  • This is the music i want to hear when i see the aurora borealis for the first time

  • this movie is one of the most captivating and beautifully poetic movies i have ever seen in my life. the way it captures the emotion and intensity of life and death, and everything in between is brilliant.

  • @TraumaSeries Did you realiza the analogy with the Leopardi's "Infinito"?

  • A song to my soul.

  • When i feel confused or frustrated in life i come to this video and it somehow lets everything be calm and understood. even when it is not. That it what art was made to accomplish.

  • Lacrimosa - Weeping

  • This is what geniuses listen to as they change the world.

  • The only part in all movie wich I dont sleep.

  • This movie was so awesome. In my top 3.

  • LACRIMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSA

  • LACRIMOSA

  • I believe that this movie stars existence, and Brad Pitt and Sean Penn are just supporting roles.

  • A lot of people say that this movie is about Brad Pitt's family and they say that the big universe/dinosaur scene is trying to show the main story in a metaphorical way. I saw it the complete other way round.

  • dzieło skończone, moge umierać

  • This movie is beautiful but the creation scene and Bresiner's Lacrimosa... I do not know what to say about this combination. I cried in silence as I was watching it.

  • terence malick is awesome. check out his other films,''the thin red line'' and''badlands''.

  • Ну и визг

  • @kingfire111 thumbs up if you're stupid

  • @kingfire111 dumbass

  • The facts : this days the most people killed because of their faith are christians. Its globally. Mostly in Asia and Africa. So what are you talking about? I have an advice for all of you. Do not believe every bullshit that hollywood or the liberally socialized media are telling you. Just get information on your own. Christianity is destructive ? Yeah sure

  • @tsuiter91 No, he is just tired of religious nonsense.

  • If the universe listened to music, I bet this would be its favorite song.

  • τι απιστευτη μελωδια ειναι αυτη??

  • No words. Just emotions.

  • "At the end of time, a moment will come when just one man remains. Then the moment will pass. Man will be gone. There will be nothing to show that we were ever here... but stardust. The last man... alone with God. Am I that man? " Sunshine

  • One of the best movies ever made.

  • @thierryhendrix I was the 100th person to like this.

    Bow to me.

  • @SynthSky I bow to you, my friend.

  • The wonders of evolution

    The beauty of nature.

Humans aging, from child to grownup

Do not soil this with religious talk.

    Just dont...

Our world is so beautiful and horrible as it is (fairy tales should stay fairy tales... not become reason to kill others and hate others... throughout history we have learnt more and more and many, many many religions has been changed because of that... hopefully soon our minds will be clear and we will focus on humans and earth (not gods))

  • Oh and mrfruity77 you dont know a thing about christian faith because if you did you would know its my job to get you to go down the right path. But you wouldnt understand would you.

  • mrfruity77 are you retarted? If you were so smart you would know you could feel and hear the holy spirit. And Scinoverlord what does that have to do with anything I said. You dont even know anything about the bible. Your trying to sound so smart whereas your making yourself look like an idiot. Oh and learn how to spell before you try to talk about someone. Scrinoverlord im talking to you.

  • We, humans are a disease..an incurable one.

Human being..when was the last time you raised your hands to the sky and asked some eternity from God,,?!

Open your mind, open your heart...There is The Heaven.

  • @06kristjon wtf... if you are a disease, the kill yourself. Now.

    Kill yourself.

Why stay alive if you consider humans vomit.

Oh.. wait... maybe you are ignorant... yeah thats it!

You are ignorant to knowledge and arrogant to others belief...

How I long for mankind to give up christianity (and other religion) and become sane and care for other people. Now, rape, killing, hate and ignorance is the way of the christians...

leave that horrible mess at home, please.

  • @dumplingsistasty I'm sure you can make the difference between Religions and Faith.

Grow up mate, grow up..and open your heart so you can find the Divine inside yourself.

  • @06kristjon ... grow up...

    condescending...

Well, i wont discuss anything with you. Faith is what made 9/11 and that is just one example. You cannot divide faith from religion. That only works theoretically.

I am sad that you still wants to be the child with blind eyes. You should be the one that should grow up.

Well, well... shiva jesus buddah messiah the wholy spirit ganesha Thor oden ...

I hope you eventually will help mankind and leave that cloaked veil over your eyes.

  • @dumplingsistasty Hey, my friend...open your mind and separate your thoughts from dogmatic religion like 9/11 , Jihad , perverse priests , etc etc

These basterds have nothing to do with the divine message...

Jesus, Buddah, Mohamed. Dante Aligieri, Gandhi etc were The Illuminated who found the secrets of life and preached LOVE...They are The Bridge that allows us to know the Creator.

  • @06kristjon With religion comes dogmatic thinking.

It becomes too important to people and too personal. Why not leave these people and their books behind and look at what is now?

No, the concept "religion" was mainly created to earn power. What we belive in and have faith in... thats another thing. But if you put your thoughts onto Jesus, or whatever, things will go wrong, at some point.

I.e. If you belive inte tolerance, do that. But just leave it there, its enough.
