  • he is nice and funny .that thing he made with his hands its very funny

  • "I ran out of banjo, im sorry" LOL!

  • Coolio Joe , this is good fun...

  • Heh. Sure looks like clawhammer to me, and I've watched him do it up close. Yes, he's using more of a classical banjo style in parts, and a few hints of the old "stroke" style, but so what?

  • The man is truly talented. But this is not clawhammer. Looks like more of a hybrid of styles.

  • Thinks: If I had half of this man's talent,I could play this half as well in twice the time.

  • Oh dear God. This man is truly demented.

  • You say that as if it were a bad thing... :-D

  • 'ran out of banjo' heh heh. if you like this, check out the flamenco banjo improvisation on my page...!

  • interesting!

  • ALL RIGHT JOE!!!!!!!!!

  • Joe is amazing and funny—loved the bit of Fiddler on the Roof thrown in there!

  • Nashville's finest. Love the shot at Esteban. Lol

  • This is stunning. Anybody can play classical or flamenco on a banjo--heck, even I can--but not like that!

  • wow

  • Is it wrong to like this better on the banjo, lol? I would love to here this on a gourd banjo.

  • You're very good but play it on a guitar!

  • He can.

  • And then some. I was very sorry when he stopped playing music for political reasons, even when I understood the reasons.

  • He still plays pro in the mundane world, just not in the SCA any more (except for the Dark Horde)

  • Playing it on the 6-string guitar is easier than playing it on the 5-string banjo. Joe, ya done good!

  • either the doubble, or the 12 string, please!

  • @IcyScythe why should he play it on a guitar, maybe it sounds better on a banjo?

  • wonderful music

  • Gracias!

  • se escribe malagueña payaso. saludos desde málaga.

  • i really love this one

  • "Malagueña" is originally a piano composition and song by the Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona.

  • actually malaguena was originated/ccomposed by spanish gypsys from a village in spain called malaga

  • malagueña salerosa es la cancion q tu nombras, pero LA MALAGUEÑA ES UN BAILE Y CANCION TIPICA DE MALAGA .... ESPAÑA sai no la conoceis ya sabes pasad a verla

  • I'm quite sure that song is called Espana Cani (Gypsy Spain), which is not flamenco, but paso doble (another Spanish musical form) yet I'm might be wrong.

  • el amor me llevó hacia ti con impulso arrebatador...

  • Joe will be appearing for a rare Backstage In Arizona Reunion @ the Rhythm Room in Phoenix this call goes out to all the people who helped and participated in the making of the television show- this rare event is all about you.

    Spread the word!

  • i often tried to imagine this combination and here it is! Wonderful

  • no coordination! that's it

  • Joe Bethancourt is the only person I can imagine who would do flamenco on a banjo. It's great!!!

  • Yeah, but can he do it on a tennis raquet?

  • I thought that was a tennis racquet?

I think I need new glasses.
