LOL! This video only contains sarcasm and commented interviews from people who are the weaker and can not verbally stand up to this guys egg for brains bullying. Whoever credits this stuff as intellectually useful has much to learn yet. This is gay.. I stopped watching at 11:30. Started laughing at this mockery. Jesus IS such an indestructible King!. He IS KING! He IS LORD! He IS EVERYTHING GREAT AND POWERFUL!
@PeridotPixie So you watched a fraction of it (of which most is just a retelling of the Jesus story anyway) and can claim that the whole video only contains something? Typical ignorant certitude from a true believer. We all know you don't think you need evidence to support your beliefs.
Okay, but tell me if there is a difference between saying there is no proof Mithra existed or saying Mithra never existed. Because this video is saying that Jesus never existed which I think is far removed from saying nobody knows if he existed. If you say I have not sufficient evidence to believe in the existance of this individual, that's fine and I cant argue that but If you say this individual never existed, definitely. Now the burden of proof is on you, to prove it.
@nick31111111 I think there is ample proof perhaps circumstancial but non the less enough for a respected Roman historian to say "Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus" the synoptic gospels agree with every detail. I would say Mithra does not apply because as I just read, it was adopted form a more ancient mystery religion and could very well have had a founder named Mithra.
Those who seek consolation in existing churches often pay for their peace of mind with a tacit agreement to ignore a great deal of what is known about the way the world works i.e.,The world is flat, gravity is just a theory and religious texts are fact. Thank you Jesus for eternal damnation and thank you Patriotic Monk i'll see you in Hell or maybe another life, on a special planet? With virgin's and wine? I like the latter but hey...i'll make heaven today rather than in afterlife.
Okay buddy, Lets go down this path. Your responding one of many of my arguments, the Talmud references Jesus as a false prophet who claimed that he was the Messiah. Why would that be? The Jews of that day, and even orthadox of today hate Jesus. This is how stupid your argument is. Jews don't even deny that Jesus lived. Neither do Muslims. This is because there is so much evidence for the man living that you would have to be dumber than a bag of hammers to question his existence.
@nick31111111 The question is weather Jesus was the son of God or not. As I said before I don't know but I'll tell you one thing stealing George Carlin's jokes wont make me question every possible answer.
AHHHHH! this is fucking retarded!! I don't know the truth behind Christianity but I can tell you this is bullshit!! Paul thought that Jesus lived only in heaven? Anyone who reads this post, go read Hebrews 8:1-10 and you ask yourself if Paul was talking about jesus never being on earth and only in heaven or his duty in heaven after he rose.
@nick31111111 Paul says he believed Jesus came in a spiritual body to earth and filled people's physical bodies up with his ghost. Col 2:9 For in him dwells the fullness of the godhead bodily. ie in a spiritual body. Paul is very clear about the distinction between a carnal and a spiritual body
@stupidtreehugger I have to disagree with you again. He says the word "Bodily" and It's seems plain as day he's saying the fulness of God's spirit was with in Jesus bodily... So what's the confusion. It's simple english, no? Aside from that I don't know about the whole Paul deceiving the church and leading them astray theory I haven't researched it.
@stupidtreehugger Well that is not right about Paul. Paul also believed Jesus lived on earth as a man! In Galatians, Paul met two men who knew Jesus personally & one was Identified by Paul as Jesus brother in the flesh which is supported by Josephus & dozens of other documents. The problem believers have with Paul is the virgin birth. It's never mentioned in Paul's genuine letters. Did Peter & James fail to tell Paul or did Paul not think it worth mentioning. Either way is odd!
Jesus never existed? LOL your a moron. A man named Jesus who claimed to be the son of God is recorded by the Hebrew Talmud, and by the Roman historian Tacitus. The real question is whether he rose from the dead, not if he ever existed! Why should anyone take anything you say seriously if you dont research the things you claim!
@nick31111111 Tacitus wrote that single paragraph in the year 116. He was hardly an eyewitness to Jesus' life! lol As the gospels had appeared for the first time in about 90AD, some 60 years after Christ's supposed death and 26 years before Tacitus remarked upon them, those stories were already ancient fables to him as they are to us. But if you want to believe in an invisible sky living super friend who loves starving the innocent children of the world to death, go right ahead.
@99white Okay buddy, Lets go down this path. Your responding one of many of my arguments, the Talmud references Jesus as a false prophet who claimed that he was the Messiah. Why would that be? Christians where no friends of theirs, they would be morons to not say hey this guy never lived. Nothing more to say to someone as mentally lazy as you.
@nick31111111 What has Pontius Pilot being historical have to do with any Jesus? There appears to be no reference outside of the forged insert in Josephus to link any likely Jesus to Pilot.
@stupidtreehugger Everything, for a long time the belief in the existence of Pilot was only based on writings like the gospels and Tacitus. Not until they discovered archaeological evidence did they have real evidence. This gives more credence to the historical veracity of the gospels. Aside from that, lets just go to basic history. Anytime you deal in history and the event has pasted there is no 100% way to prove something happened. But there are ways to see the likeliness.
@nick31111111 So you weigh the evidence. Jesus has eye eyewitnesses who recorded their experiences and their unbroken chain of teacher and student till the present day. There were outside sources that also gave accounts. You have a mass movement caused by this individual. If you want to forget the Talmud, fine. Forget Josephus because not every copy has the christ insert fine. You can't argue with Tacitus. It's wasn't hear say or folklor. He lived in the time of his apostles
@nick31111111 and his predecessor lived in Jesus' time. He states the events as fact. You can't argue that man. He basically said we did it. we killed the christians master, exactly like your book says. There is more than enough evidence to support his life. What do you need a person saying yes he existed. You have that in the gospels. Maybe some objective historical account, Tacitus. A book carbon dated to the year 30CE. Sorry those materials dont usually last that long.
@nick31111111 And if they did you could pick holes in it also. That's the problem with history. Tell me what if it really happened. How would the evidence be different? Exactly what evidence would we have, that we don't have now? because i see evidense for his life, i don't however see evidence for a conspiracy, prove that. Prove your conspiracy theory.
@Megabob10 Oh my God, your an idiot. I never said I was a Christian. Josephus, Tacitus, and the Talmud all independent, all non christian sources, all taken from earlier sources. In 64 years after Christ, Christians were a big enough group for everyone to know who they were. This is 64 years after Christ! How do you convince people of a made up person that lived within their life time and no one met him!!!!!!!
@nick31111111 The Talmud's two most possible Jesuses are generally identified as each being placed around 100 years before and after the NT one. If one concedes there were many called Jesus, the Talmud's Jesuses differing in every unique detail (eg mother and father's name) becomes significant.
@stupidtreehugger Okay, here's the thing you just did a google search and believed the first thing that popped up the angelfire website you'r QUOTING it!! Go buy or rent the works of Jesephus and look up Jewish antiquities book 18 chapter 3 verse 3. It places him around the same time as Pontius Pilate. Who was proven to be a real historical person in 1961 after a temple in Caesarea was discovered to have his name on it.
@nick31111111 Christian theologians do not accept Josephus as proof because they know it's a forgery. Why it is continually brought up surprises the hell out of me.
@DeadLines73 Tacitus religates Christus to Christianity, as it's leader. Come on man, denying this is ridiculous. Nobody denies Budda, Krishna, or Mohammed. There is a clear line of followers from Jesus to st John to Polycarp to Irenaeus. The whole time the Christian movement had a large following. No way he didn't exist. try that, start a cult based off a fictional character who lived in the 60's say he was a God and see if people will follow you. Hell even Scientology had L.Ron.
@nick31111111 Come on man, no one accepts Tacitus as proof of Jesus. Hearsay is not proof. Nobody denies Buddha because he was based of a real person, Krishna was not. No one knows for sure if Mohammad really existed.
There is no way a religion can start from someone who never existed, are you really this gullible? Mithraism was a religion that was more popular than Christianity during the first few centuries and there is no proof Mithra existed.
@stupidtreehugger Look man. I'm trying to be nice. You're following the teachings of the Jesus Seminar who nintey percent of scholars, secular and Christian alike say are way off base. There is so much evidence that the man Jesus existed you would have to live on another planet to ignore it. Like I said before Jews and Muslims alike don't even bother to deny it.
@nick31111111 It started off as a personality cult like islam or buddism both based off of real people. You don't get a following like that unless you have a real personality to follow. In around 64CE Nero blamed the burning of Rome on the Christians, So the group in 64 years to spread across the roman empire. From what a rumor? Don't be naive! Of course he existed. That's one persons lifetime, all I have to do is ask grandpa about Jesus and he'll say nope he was made up!
@nick31111111 Josephus, Tacitus and the Talmud are not proof. Josephus was a forgery, Tacitus heard of Christians, not Jesus and both versions of the Talmud were written 200+ years after the supposed fact. Where do you get your information from, JP Holding?
@DeadLines73 Actually Tacitus is the greatest proof. He never says he heard of Christians he says matter of factly that Christians followed Christus who suffer the extreme penalty at the hands of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus. More could have also been said except that much of his writting were lost. For a Roman historian to say he suffered at OUR hands, is huge!! Thats enough proof for me. He was considered the greatest Roman historian.
Patt robettson suggested bombing the state departmen?!! Yeah I just looked that up and he was interviewing someone who said that. If thats where this documentary is going and the standard by which information is accepted into this doco's cannon I think your time is better spent watching supersize me.
GREAT FILM! just too short. I too was raised in church and was a believer until I learned to think on my own. I was brainwashed and will be bitter about it 'til the end of my days. Best part of film was to question the holy spirit can never be forgiven and eternal damnation. It always kills me when christians just pick and choose which parts of the bible to follow and at the same time will tell u u have to believe it in it's entirety. It's all talking in circles bullshit.
@ruthless6661 I don't know that it is so much a book of lies than it is a book stories from thousands of years ago. 1800 years in the writing, between 60-80 different authors, the Bible is more a compilation of ancient fairy tales and moral stories than anything like factual or historical narrative. People forget Easter existed 1800 years before Jesus, and Christmas almost 2500 years before him
Bible scholars have been saying this is the end times for as long as I can remember. Either Jesus is late, or he isn't coming back. I chose the later.
@finalfansix The foundation to any belief system should be questioned if the presenter and depiction of that belief is actually a wolf in sheeps clothing - think on that! Also, jewish - does not equal jew! Jewish = kinda but not quite! The REAL jews were never what we've been brainwashed to beLIEve either! JOU-wish those depictions of the jews were factual! Just like the Bible; history is wraught with white-lies to reinforce a sick white-supremist system and that's why its ALL collapsing!
@chrisv0n Then how do you explain that there are a plethora of people from all different religions which claim to have had the same experience but with different conclusions?
To all the people who diss the entire documentary because there is a mistake in it. If you could tell the makers of this documentary, they would check it; admit the mistake and apologize. And why is that? Because they are not religious. However, people make mistakes. Almost all movies have mistakes. Get over it. Once it's produced, it's too late to change it.
I am sorry but if Jesus really existed, he sure as hell wouldn't be a white man! The very depiction of such a person is a lie within itself and people wonder why no one with real intelligence, rhyme or reason, don't believe in this crap??? Please!
@Stardomchild ...? Google Image search with the words "Jewish people" see how many non-white people you get... But hey, there are much better reasons to doubt the bible story of Jesus than seeing him depicted wrongly in a movie... lol That totally made my day... I wonder if you can manage to see the pointlessness of your argument hahaha XD
I haven't looked much into this documentary, but the first thing I looked up was the quote that claims Jesus asked for those who didn't see him as king to be brought to him and killed. That's complete bullshit. Christians often claim people take scripture out of context, but in all seriousness, that is from a parable that Jesus told. This documentary might as well have quoted someone saying "Jews are evil," when in context they said, "One of my professors said, 'Jews are evil.'"
You know amazes me more than anything else? The number of views: 1.392! This number says a lot about how little people are interested about thinking. It should be a couple of millions. Mad world...
A film made by an ex fundamentalist Christian trying to say that ONLY fundamentalism is real Christianity. The film maker has not given up his fundamentalist mentality even though he no longer believes in Christ. The film maker is still a fundamentalist just now an atheist.
The film maker was raised in heresy i.e. fundamentalism and has not gotten over it. This is evidenced on his attacks of moderate Christianity.
why is the acting soooo bad in these old religious movies?!?! surely the son of god should qualify for some real professional actors, those movies look like they've been put on by highschool kids.....
All have sinned and greatly offended the holy God of the bible. The just punishment is death then hell. That's not Gods will. He suffered and died on the cross paying for the law you broke in His life's blood so He could legally dismiss your case. You must repent turn from your sin and trust alone in Jesus Christ for your salvation.
@gaurangactuary: I never said I disagreed with this film; I just said Zeitgeist is conspiracy garbage. If David Icke, a man who believes in a Reptilian government takeover, were to say that the sky is blue, that doesn't make him wrong. But I sure as hell wouldn't cite him as a source.
@gaurangactuary: Yes, and if yours is "Zeitgest is anything but pure-strain insanity," then yours is objectively wrong. It's filled with truther bullshit and paranoid conspiracy theories about a North American Union and unified currency, and that's not even to get into how terrible the religion segment is that complete ignores language differences.
No one is going to get any "answers" from Zeitgeist that aren't insane.
I don't just deny i don't even acknowledge the holy ghost or Jesus i have no reason or evidence to be affraid of such nonsense so fuck all who threaten me with hell.
@yakhudatumachuda, Christians believe in the gospel which was predicted before it happened & so they know it is of God.
Genesis 5 "Adam (Man) Seth (appointed) Enosh (fatal injury), Cainan (the only begotten of the Lord). Mahalalel (Praise God), Jared (he shall descend) Enoch (teaching) Methuselah (through his death communion with the lifted high Son of God). Lamech (For the despairing) Noah (this same shall be a Comforter with us here)."
The Gospel & Trinity in very clear form in Genesis 5.
None of the links of Christianity to pagan beliefs predate Christianity unless you speak of the moon dying and being reborn or the crops coming again next year.
How stupid are pagans to think those things are significant? That they can't even prove even one major link to Jesus of a pagan religion predating Christianity is sad indeed.
Can they even predate Isaiah 9:6 in the 8th century B.C.?
Genesis 5 has a great genealogy from 1,400 B.C. supposedly, but certainly at least 800 B.C. as Jewish jewelry dated to that time has quotes of Deuteronomy.
This genealogy from Genesis 5 has an interesting message, "Adam (Man) Seth (appointed) Enosh (fatal injury), Cainan (the promised one). Mahalalel (Praise God), Jared (he shall descend) Enoch (teaching) Methuselah (his death shall bring) Lamech (the despairing) Noah (comfort)."
For pagan links see "The Case for the Real Jesus" challenge #4.

@stupidtreehugger Look man. I'm trying to be nice. You're following the teachings of the Jesus Seminar who nintey percent of scholars, secular and Christian alike say are way off base. There is so much evidence that the man Jesus existed you would have to live on another planet to ignore it. Like I said before Jews and Muslims alike don't even bother to deny it.
nick31111111 1 week ago
@nick31111111 It started off as a personality cult like islam or buddism both based off of real people. You don't get a following like that unless you have a real personality to follow. In around 64CE Nero blamed the burning of Rome on the Christians, So the group in 64 years to spread across the roman empire. From what a rumor? Don't be naive! Of course he existed. That's one persons lifetime, all I have to do is ask grandpa about Jesus and he'll say nope he was made up!
nick31111111 1 week ago
@nick31111111 Josephus, Tacitus and the Talmud are not proof. Josephus was a forgery, Tacitus heard of Christians, not Jesus and both versions of the Talmud were written 200+ years after the supposed fact. Where do you get your information from, JP Holding?
DeadLines73 1 week ago
@DeadLines73 Actually Tacitus is the greatest proof. He never says he heard of Christians he says matter of factly that Christians followed Christus who suffer the extreme penalty at the hands of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus. More could have also been said except that much of his writting were lost. For a Roman historian to say he suffered at OUR hands, is huge!! Thats enough proof for me. He was considered the greatest Roman historian.

GREAT FILM! just too short.

To all the people who diss the entire documentary because there is a mistake in it. If you could tell the makers of this documentary, they would check it; admit the mistake and apologize. And why is that? Because they are not religious. However, people make mistakes. Almost all movies have mistakes. Get over it. Once it's produced, it's too late to change it.
finalfansix 3 weeks ago

This video was really good until it eventually misquoted Luke. The quote is part of a parable and is said by a character in the parable not by Jesus.

Laramas 2 months ago
@gaurangactuary: Yes, and if yours is "Zeitgest is anything but pure-strain insanity," then yours is objectively wrong. It's filled with truther bullshit and paranoid conspiracy theories about a North American Union and unified currency, and that's not even to get into how terrible the religion segment is that complete ignores language differences.
No one is going to get any "answers" from Zeitgeist that aren't insane.
Laramas 2 months ago
@gaurangactuary: Zeitgeist is tinfoil hat bullshit. Please don't bring that into a serious discussion.

Christians are so stupid. They actually believe someone who could not even save himself to be the true savior... BULLSHIT.
yakhudatumachuda 1 year ago
@yakhudatumachuda, Christians believe in the gospel which was predicted before it happened & so they know it is of God.
Genesis 5 "Adam (Man) Seth (appointed) Enosh (fatal injury), Cainan (the only begotten of the Lord). Mahalalel (Praise God), Jared (he shall descend) Enoch (teaching) Methuselah (through his death communion with the lifted high Son of God). Lamech (For the despairing) Noah (this same shall be a Comforter with us here)."
The Gospel & Trinity in very clear form in Genesis 5.
ReligionOfSacrifice 4 months ago
None of the links of Christianity to pagan beliefs predate Christianity unless you speak of the moon dying and being reborn or the crops coming again next year.
How stupid are pagans to think those things are significant? That they can't even prove even one major link to Jesus of a pagan religion predating Christianity is sad indeed.
Can they even predate Isaiah 9:6 in the 8th century B.C.?
ReligionOfSacrifice 1 year ago
