Okay, but tell me if there is a difference between saying there is no proof Mithra existed or saying Mithra never existed. @nick31111111 I think there is ample proof perhaps circumstancial but non the less enough for a respected Roman historian to say "Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus" the synoptic gospels agree with every detail. I would say Mithra does not apply because as I just read, it was adopted form a more ancient mystery religion and could very well have had a founder named Mithra.

In Galatians, Paul met two men who knew Jesus personally & one was Identified by Paul as Jesus brother in the flesh which is supported by Josephus & dozens of other documents. The problem believers have with Paul is the virgin birth. It's never mentioned in Paul's genuine letters. Did Peter & James fail to tell Paul or did Paul not think it worth mentioning. He was hardly an eyewitness to Jesus' life! lol As the gospels had appeared for the first time in about 90AD, some 60 years after Christ's supposed death and 26 years before Tacitus remarked upon them, those stories were already ancient fables to him as they are to us. Not until they discovered archaeological evidence did they have real evidence. This gives more credence to the historical veracity of the gospels. Aside from that, lets just go to basic history. Anytime you deal in history and the event has pasted there is no 100% way to prove something happened. But there are ways to see the likeliness.

I haven't looked much into this documentary, but the first thing I looked up was the quote that claims Jesus asked for those who didn't see him as king to be brought to him and killed. That's complete bullshit. Christians often claim people take scripture out of context, but in all seriousness, that is from a parable that Jesus told.
