@ANGELBLU2042 I've been there about 3 times. Most Hollywood stars there are in very small burial sites. If you want to see Hollywood gravesites, this is the best. It's very small but make sure you get directions.  It's well hidden.

1926 - 1962 how weird - just turn it around and it would read 1962 - 1926 or turn the numbers anyway you want and it would read weirdly 9162 - 9126 or even 2691 - 6291 or let's say 2961 - 2916 it would also work with 1296 - 1629 many other twists and turns could happen in the mysterious dates that marked her life - like 1629 - 9261, that would really be a weird lifetime...study on it for awhile & maybe YOU can come up with some other interesting stuff for those who have nothing else to do

@Midnightryder7 Joe DiMaggio wanted to keep it simple and not go over the top. I don't know if you've ever been there in person, but it's a beautiful little cemetery. Some trivia: The granite front of Marilyn's crypt as well as her memorial plaque is replaced every few years because it gets discolored by the tens of thousands of hands that touch it. Also, the man in the crypt above her's requested that he be placed face down in his casket, so he could be facing Marilyn. Strange, but true.

I have seen many famous graves but not hers.I also lived in Calif many years ago.A late friend read that a Jewish man may be buried above MM and buried upside down,sheesh.I think Natalie Wood is also buried in this cemetery.

Yes, Natalie is in the ground there along with Donna Reid, Roy Orbison, Jack Lemmon. Dean Martin, Heather O'Rourke and Truman Capote also have cyrpts down the way from Marilyn. Made me sick Hefner won the bid to be buried next to Marilyn. Wasn't sure about the story of the person above Marilyn but ummm okay. I am not surprised at all. lol 1 million to be buried facedown , Poor Marilyn. Westwood confirmed Hef would be buried there:(

I believe so. In fact many celebrities are buried here. The ones I know of are Mel Torme, Dorotyhy Stratten, Richard Basehart and more. In fact, Playboy founder Hugh Hefner has already bought the spot next to Marilyn.

Probably because everyones is touching it. I have seen another video showing the marble covered with lipstick kisses. Today is the Anniversary of her death in fact she died between the night or early morning of 4th-5th August 1962. May she rest in peace.

As another poster entioned above, it's probably because people touch it all the time, the oils from their fingers get absorbed into the marble resulting in the discoloration.
