Since we are commanded to prepare for the next life what difference does it make how the world ends, we just know it will and need to prepare or repent if necessary.
the warming may not be new and different but a small amplification of a natural cycle could have major consequences. Does it have to be all or nothing ? People seem to think that one or two degrees means nothing and yet it means the difference between water as ice or water as liquid - a huge difference with potentially huge consequences due to a kind of domino effect.
The fact that the Thames used to freeze is a useless piece of trivia when talking about the GLOBAL climate. For all we know, it might have been caused by a slowdown in the gulf stream.
Methane Releases from Arctic Shelf May Be Much Larger and Faster Than Anticipated
NSF - March 4, 2010.
Research results, published in the March 5 edition of the journal Science, show that the permafrost under the East Siberian Arctic Shelf, long thought to be an impermeable barrier sealing in methane, is perforated and is starting to leak large amounts of methane into the atmosphere. Release of even a fraction of the methane stored in the shelf could trigger abrupt climate warming.

@MrFitzwilly What are you talking about? I'm not commanded to prepare for the next life. I don't even believe in it.
