This is the very voice of the Orphic lyre, an oration, a gift, from great Hermes to you, Charles. A poetic masterpiece of the One, all-begetter, whose love has pierced the resplendent divine darkness, whose Glory is never consumed, nor diminished.
A gift it certainly is dear soror mystica, as if handed down to me unknowing from a place and persons unknown :) Thank you for your encouragement - Charles
Many thanks for that Paul. And I am glad to see your work reestablishing itself here. You have given me many hours of pleasure in the past with many more to come Chas
Altho' we may disagree on the nature of things (your monism, my dualism) before the 'catastrophe' that resulted in our present, enchained state, it is clear that we are speaking of and understand the same God, the one who is responsible for "nothing but good."
To me, it looks like you've set yourself the formidable task of getting back tho the Mind of paganism, before Christianity came along and began harping on sin and began not letting us enjoy the body.
Again--how stirring! Words hardly suffice, but words are all we have. You want to stand, and raise your arms to the gods, and cry out. I can't stop watching it! This is some sort of a high mark in your presentations, I think rising above even the usual lofty "elevations"...thanks again. Gary
I agree with you Gary. If there were a poet laureate for the celebration of the beauty of love between men, it would be Charles Bryant! His works put into words the things that we all feel and have such pride in. A stunning inspiration!
Thank you Chas, not only for the wonderful recitation, but for also triggering my interest in the Orphic Hymns. I know virtually nothing about them. Do you have any link? To the original Greek perhaps? Or to the English translation?
Orphism was an interesting religion. It seems that the Pythagoreans borrowed several elements from it. And, later, the Christians: Orpheus goes to Hades and returns; isn't this the concept of reincarnation?
Thanks for enjoying it Stephen. It really was a joint effort between me and the people I mentioned in the opening notes - all of whom, apart from Allen, are long gone :) Not forgetting of course the original Greek authors of the Hymns.

That's got to be hard!
This was a very good shot at it.

That is the most wonderful film, sad it had to get mixed up with the Hitler Olympics. The javelin-thrower sequence is out of this world, amazing.
