I wonder if ANY of the persons claiming a game to be a simulator or not has actually had any military experience at all.

I was in the army, but I never played this.

I played CoD and I can tell you that it is a fun shooting game, but definitely NOT a military simulator.

The Brother's in Arms series was imho pretty realistic.

In tactical command structures you either get 'micromanaged' or you are the one that micromanages, but concentrating on leading your men you don't fight that much/at all.

@Mattc23q Pish pash! Rag-dolls are not needed. The AI is only as dumb as the difficulty (Turn on Super AI) and have you ever seen a real military vehicle? Arma II is way more realistic than ANY game, no mater how many times you type it. Just because there's sprinting and stuff like that doesn't make the game realistic. AA3 is very buggy also, WAY buggier than Arma.

@MrPivotPie Armas idea is good, but the way they protrayed it, the maps are big - but poorly detailed, theres lots of vehicles, but their not tuned to perfection, the physics engine has the needed stuff, but not enough to make it realistic.

It has all the right things, but they arent optimised, i hope they fix it in arma 3

This has much better graphics, more realistic aircraft controls and much more units and possibilities than original OF. In comparison to Dragon Rising it has different setting, more realism and it has more aircrafts, which are done much better in A2. The differences between AA3 and ARMA is that the guns shoot more realistically in AA3 than they do in arma. While it is only one difference it is still there. I play AA, ARMA, and the upcoming BF3 for it's TACTICAL aspects, which i think people confuse for SIMULATOR.
