  • just keep it up man this is FUN

  • oh yea. you'll get a position if you want one.

  • The voice in the start. Go to Halo museum ads.

  • 360p for this? Really?

  • what I don't see, how and why is he in a meat factory when he gets attacked? lol

  • This is amazing!

  • Fantastic! Make it a movie!

  • @DirtiProductions oh dear DirtiProductions - jealous much? seen anything EVER that wasnt influenced by something else?

ever read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

its so easy to be a hater and not a creator...

  • Comment removed

  • A real gunfight with a android, Would be a short gun fight!

  • Eso es Blade Runner

  • i want to be in 1 of his Future Movies too mate ^-^ this and ALL his Projects are amazing. so Thank You for Uploading it :D

  • DRUNK TANK

  • is anyone else thinking ghost in the shell

  • @gary1632 lol exactly what i was thinking

  • Waffen ?

Ein Gedanke und das Universum kühlt weiter ab . . .

  • Blomkamp's style is very interesting.

  • i wish people could relize that good short films are just that. shorts. no need to make a hour long movie, because someone made a good 5 min short

  • @inuyashahoty22 the reason he makes these are so that they will recieve interest and he can make the hour long movie

  • This looks awesum.

  • This was a great series by IDEALOGUE for adidas...

  • 1:19 Street called Van De Merwe ...weird coincidence? Eh Wikus?

  • This was just a Adidis comercial Blomkamp made. It's not gunna be a full film because Adidas probably owns rights.

  • Did this remind anyone of the TV series "The Six Million Dollar Man"? Remember in their credits: "We can rebuild him ... we can make him better than he was ... better, faster, stronger." Even the graphics at about 1:50 remind me of the graphics in their credits.

  • It's already been made into a feature film. Has no one seen Bladerunner?

  • Another great short movie by Neill.

It seems Neill is a new great "movie maker".

    Pls more.

  • Blade Runner, anyone?

  • This is cool but kind of has nothing to do with the color "Yellow"

  • @davidmcdonald86 Sorry, but did you even watch it?

  • I, Yellow.

  • i want to see a movie of this!

  • what movie is this ?

  • yellow was made in china

  • Neil is a genius, and the halo series is too fantasy heroic world to be a gritty, realistic take on how humans will interact with aliens once we meet them.

  • @IsaacGolle One civilization comes in contact with another, and tries to destroy it out of misinterpreted religious dogma and corrupt leadership.

That seems all too realistic to me.

  • there is a lot of hebrew in this movie,is it in Israel or something like that?

  • 2:07 there's a threadcutter for an ear...

  • He's doing things and over doing them, like it or not.

  • I hate to say it, but that's me... :(...

  • *Cough* Blade Runner *Cough*

  • @DirtiProductions lol dude your totally right

  • @DirtiProductions i think its more like ghost in the shell

  • @DirtiProductions it's a short film and it's different so back off

  • @DirtiProductions By your elevated standards, has there EVER been an "original" film?

  • @DirtiProductions How can any type of film be original when it's all been done? No matter how minute the similarity, people will always be able to relate one film to another.

  • @DirtiProductions

More like ghost in the shell

  • i love these real-world alien shakey cam movies. THEY ROCK1

  • this sounds like ghost in the shell, but non-animated. realy cool, best out of adicolor adds i think. should become a series or something atleast, dont care who makes it as blomkamp is busy nowadays, just make it hapen.

  • story line stolen from bladerunner but still cool.

  • @Frillar someone's an idiot.

  • @revolutiongeorge How so?

  • @Frillar I apologise :)

  • I wish he'd make half life into a film. He'd actually do it justice.

  • if half life ever got the green light Neill would be perfect

  • Neill Blomkamp seems to be a real good movie maker, George Lucas should learn from this guy, maybe sucks his balls, just to show some respect !

  • чЁ ЗА дрянь?

  • Drunk Tank!

  • this short film is awesome, NEILL BLOMPKAMP is my hero, more inclusive than JAMES CAMERON. NEILL simply is the better director of sci-fi what have been here, i was wating so much HALO, but "NO HAY PEDO". NEILL, you have a fan in MÉXICO.

  • Blomkamp is easily one of the most promising new Sci Fi directors out there right now. it was a pity what happened with Halo but he moved on and made an amazing movie. I absolutely love District 9, hands down one of the best sci fi movies made this decade.

I can only hope he moves from strength to strength, his concepts in the short films he has made show a lot of promise, Yellow is one i really do hope he makes in to a fully featured film. I love the way this man thinks.

  • the robot cranium seemed very Ghost in the Shell like. But good stuff other wise

  • Neill is so epic..

  • cool looks like The Zeta Project

  • another i-robot

  • Neil Blomkamp - the king of the B movies.

  • @Mottahead Would District 9 qualify as a B movie? The budget was low IN COMPARISON to other movies, but it was still a staggering 30 grand if I recall correctly.

  • @Mottahead the hell you talking about, district 9 was an awesome movie

  • @Mottahead B movies nothin'! His Bs are just low budget A material.

  • Their Shanghai shots are actually from Hong Kong :/

    Awesome short though :D

  • Neill Blomkamp!

    SVTH.COM.AU

  • district 9 pls. in favelas-RJ

  • Neill Blomkamp is probably one of the most talented directors of the 21st century.

  • Neill Blomkamp knows what hes doing. District 9 is one of the best movies ever made. This is pretty sweet too.

  • That's great! How long time you finish this? It looks amazing!

  • It's definately interesting and creative but it feels more like a trailer than a short film.

  • Neill Blomkamp is a genius =P

  • EEHHHH!!!! AHH!!! Hmmm!!! WOW!

interesting choose for a title. the story takes place in an Asian city. scientists are of the same nationality. combat originates there. cant help but see the racial / cultural / maybe even poetic subtext in it.

2:08 sparked the thought. when they mentioned taking away emotions & feelings.

SIDEBAR: why is it when @least one parent who has an Asian background the child will also have Asian features? guaranteed! Almost as thought it is prominent over other genes?

  • If this was something sponsored by Adidas (read the description), this might mean that they own the rights to it and Neill can't make it into a movie. That would suck.

  • This is so awesome. He did a feature length Alive in Joburg, now he should do a feature length Yellow. Best director of our time, I think.

  • Aside from all the Terminator clips, it was pretty good.

  • Can someone please tell me what he's saying at 1:57? It's "Make a *SOMETHING* human, make a better human, make a smarter human ..." I've watched a dozen times and cannot understand that word.

    Thanks.

  • @bobbyandbeans make a synthetic human

  • @camlove8423 Thanks! That makes sense. His accent, it just went right over my head!

  • Here is what we do. This android escapes, and after years of failed attempts to catch it, the agency sends another android to track it. But this one goes rogue and goes all Terminator on us. Anyone else?

  • bellissimo!

  • Half Life movie wont come out anytime soon, they're still finishing episodes

  • I want it!

  • Please, not another movie about the apocalypse.

  • this is kool, kinda like irobot though

  • this would be such a sick movie!

  • This MUST be full feature film! I can see it being a sci-fi version of some fugitive movie. Take Jason Bourne and put him into a sci-fi situation and bits of gritty realism. Sure this movie will play out well. :D

  • @TerenceTeng2 I think its gonna be Elysium.

  • @TerenceTeng2 Matt Damon is in the new Neill Blomkamp movie too! XD he's going to be staring alongside jodie foster and the lead actor of d9. It takes place on a new planet, and it's possibly about genetic expirements on food... like The Jungle, but in sci-fi form.

  • yeah dude half life has a better history than halo at least he make district 9 a great movie

  • though a classic plot, the way it has been presented is amazing. this can be a potential material for making a full fledged sci fi action movie.

  • Damn he's amazing with movies that have to do with advanced technology.

  • They should make this a movie.

  • whats the movie?

  • It reminds me of I, Robot and Ghost in the Shell, if anything the point of the movie should be for yellow to replace humanity, then it would destroy the cliche of humans always win because we are not robots... Now I must go back to spending money on what the tv says I should. xp

  • @The0Archiver: Read a few of the novels by Peter F. Hamilton. The distinction between robots and humans will evolve. By the time the technology catches up with the fantasy of ambulatory robots that can be more of challenged than a dishwasher on wheels, the distinction will be moot. I think the vision of "Ghost in the Shell" may come about, but the "ghost" will already be there.

  • this idea feels quite similar to Dark Angel except they're robots.

  • Yea, another Stand Alone Complex.

Looks familar but is very intersting.

    Lets see whats happens....

  • for some reason this make me think he should do a ghost recon movie... no clue how theyre related but i stand by it

  • great idea and great done :D

  • Wow. I hope he turns this into his next full length feature.

  • This would be a great feature!!

  • He should direct the live action ghost in the shell movie.

  • This would be a sick feature

  • African aliens are cool... Israeli Cyborgs? FTW...

  • He Has to be the director for World war Z i don't think ive ever seen a director capture the air of the international community that is portrayed in the book quite like this director has

  • AUTECHRE!

  • Neill - you MUST make this a feature film!! Pleease!!

  • and cast Jeeja Yanin as the lead

  • i liked how this one was the most interesting to watch out of all of the adicolor podcasts. it felt like i was watching a full movie in just 4 minutes.

  • 2:35 O soto-gari, magor outside reaping

  • I love how "Yellow" (the robot) is so smart that he goes around wearing a different color (red) so no one will know it's him.

  • Wow Neill is one of the greatest Sci-Fi minds out there! Is is it for sure that he wont direct the halo movie?

  • he wont be

  • Sad!

  • shut up

  • who cares a halo movie wouldnt have anything to sa anyways, it would just be an action movie

  • @mrocean468 districted 9 was one of the best film ever!!!!

  • @skimmo31 i completely agree, its my second favourite sci fi film after blade runner

  • i agree!

  • this could be a good movie too

  • You need to understand the creastive process behind making a film before you understand why he called it.

He and Jackson spent no less than seven months working balls-to-the-wall on the Halo film, only for the studio to cancel it on them.

If you were working on a project for seven months just to have it completely cancelled due to matters beyond your control, you would also feel disheartened beyond the point of continuing.

It is not a guts thing, he simply got burnt out on Halo.

  • @TheoSamaritan And to top that off, it was cancelled more than once. Neill has even stated that he couldn't handle the emotional trauma of another cancellation and has refused to work any further on it.

  • @TheoSamaritan that's how Rob Bottin felt after working on the "doomed" Freddy Vs Jason film( Concept art, Makeup FX and Directing) only to have it halted and the studio went with a shitty script, an Asian film director with little experience in Horror films and actresses with horrible boob jobs.

  • @TheoSamaritan That's a lie and anyone who's worked in the industry knows that's how business is. Sometimes you work hard, sometimes you get cancelled. The first thing they teach you at school is not to get married to your work. Now he went to VFS, one of the best film schools in the world for this stuff. Believe me when I say he knows this more than anyone. He got paid, that's what matters.

  • @xXull Theo's other account here I was only commenting on something he and Jackson both said. I know that's how the business is, but you put the work in and get screwed yes you will be disheartened, paid or not. Youtube wont let me link the article, but google it and you'll find out what I said was far from a lie.

  • It seems less like a short film and more like a movie trailer but a phenomenal movie trailer at that.. The visuals are stunning and I would love to see this made into a feature. It kind of rings of "I Robot" meets "The Bourne Identity."

  • Or just Ghost in the Shell meets Ghost in the shell. The concept is exactly the same, though this still does look very interesting, nonetheless. I would love to see this hit the big screen.

  • ghost in the shell

  • Cool!!!

But I hate the idea of making a better, faster and smarter human, cause it's a huge challenge to make a robot that is eaven close to humans, it will take time to make something that would rivall humans, but by that time, humans will be geneticly making humans better, so it would be eaven harder to make a machine that would rival us.

But when they make the first machine that is close to us, it will become better very fast.

But awesome job by neil blomkamp!!!!

  • Does anyone know what Yellow's Hebrew tattoos say?

  • This looks like something the band Tool would make

  • i dont understand

  • wow, nice bits in Hong Kong.

  • it was shanghai not hong kong

  • yes, he claims it is Shanghai in the clip, but quite a bit of the city footage is from Hong Kong.

Shit, I've taken the number 7 bus at 1:21 a few times before.

  • This should be his next movie. Someone start a petition to make "Yellow" a feature film!

  • I'll sign that. It definetly has potential.

  • He stole my idea

  • Wow, this is awesome! Kind of reminds me of Blade Runner (but better!) I Robot could have been a good movie if Neill Blomkamp was involved. As for Spielberg's A.I., I thought the effects were good but I didn't really like the story.

  • Blomkamp is clearly influenced by japanese anime production... this video is sooo Ghost in the Shell...

  • this is amazing

  • This might make a pretty cool full-length movie.

  • I enjoyed this short film. It was really cool.

Neil Blomkamp is an awesome director.

    Just look at District 9.

  • f*ck the halo movie

    this guy should direct Half-Life

  • half life is such a good game, but idk if it would be good as an adventure movie

  • @radioshuriken

    f*ck YOU

  • @radioshuriken he could be the only one that can do it right

  • @radioshuriken Totally agree with you. The best game-to-movie adaptation would be Half-Life by Neill Blomkamp.

  • @pichicatero good idea. Although I think Neill should do a movie based on Portal, heh.

  • @radioshuriken Fuck that. Neil should direct ALL the game-2-movie adaptations. They wouldn't be a waste of time then.

  • @radioshuriken fuckin right

  • @radioshuriken No, because game adaptations suck. I'll admit Half-Life has potential, but I'd be happier to see Blomkamps own ideas.

  • @radioshuriken That's what I've been thinking for quite some time now!

  • I don't get it - coldplay never played the song....

  • lolololololololol

  • watch the movie artificial intelegence by steven speilberg

  • @Stoolbrain95

do not watch the movie isnt really worth, hollywood shit

  • Hollywood isnt always shit. hell there has been alot of great movies from hollywood. Even though there in a trend of making remakes.

  • You do know that Hollyworrd had very little to do with the production of District 9 right?

  • Thanks God!

  • Yeah cause they wouldve made it into some sorta futuristic love story starring Brad Pitt or some sorta crap like that

  • This is fuckin awesome. They should make a full feature-length movie out of this. I think the robot should be the good-guy though.

  • they did. duh

  • Ya never know. It starts out one way, and then the robot decides he's sick of this shit so he wipes out the entire human race. Could go either way if they make it feature length.

  • To the comment below: Humbly, Your a fucking moron.

  • Neill Blomkamp and the creator of ghost in shell should work together to make a live action version of Ghost in the shell

  • reminds me of Ghost in the Shell
