This isn't metalxcore, not even close. This is the extreme end of melodic hardcore. Metalxcore has always had a much heavier presence and pace.

Doesn't matter the genre. These guys were kings of their day. Mad respect.

I saw Hopesfall back in 2005 with Stretch Arm Strong in Charlotte, and let me just say, that was the most amazing show ever! I now live in Las Vegas. It sucks I couldn't be there for this epic event (which would've been better if Beloved could've gotten together and played). Nonetheless, long live NC Metal!!!.....Oh yeah, GO HEELS!

@appleipodtouch2g hopesfall aren't quite metal enough to be considered metalcore, unlike early Poison the Well. They're definitely more post-hardcore than anything but they went more screamo on their later albums. Many bands scream and growl: In Flames, Deicide, Between the Buried and Me, Dillinger Escape Plan, Disma, Woods Of Desolation....but they're not screamo. Most bands that are labeled as screamo suck. So maybe Hopesfall do deserve their own genre....
