@robelinda2 sorry rob i phrased that wrong. i meant that like these days ppl went nuts when mathews took a similar catch when there is evidence of this video that it has been done before long time ago. same with the scoop shot, people think its a product of the t20 generation when i've seen vids on your channel of mariller and ryan campbell doing it ten years ago.

@gunot5827 yup I saw douglas marillier do it (scoop shot) for the first time against India when he got the fastest 50 by a Zimbabwean at the time, I think it was in 2002, he played the shot about 3 times of Zaheer. As for the catch the first time I saw it was Chris harris catching Moin Khan in an ODI in 2001.
