this album start to finish was YEARS ahead of its time!!!! It sounds like it was released within the last 5 years and its from 93?!! awsome band... if you can find curato... buy it!!!
@mashui99......better late than never man. Check out some of their stuff. Doomsday for the Deceiver album is probably where I'd start.......or even Cuatro since you like this song. I think if this song was played on the radio all across the country....right now....it would increase their fan base and appreciation. Very good song. Okay...I'll shut up. Now please go check out the self titled song Doomsday for the Deceiver....hehehehe. Really though. Later dude.
Growing up in Phoenix I was fortunate enough to have this amazing band around quite often. Seems like they played every Halloween back in the 80's and 90's. I always told folks they ARE the best concert band in my opinion! I remember sitting at Compton Terrace...dark stage...start hearing "Me" and get up and run toward stage...so AWESOME! Celebrity theatre....circa 1987......Possessed opens...Metal Church next....then FLOTSAM and JETSAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember seeing this video on Headbanger's Ball with Rikki Rachtman when they had F & J on set and were talking about this video and the Cuatro album. They were mentioning that if you watch the 'wading through the darkness' video and then pause it at various points or see it in slow motion, you can see in better detail the hidden background video. Well made video and song. The bass playing reminded me of Jason's bass style.
Eric A.K. Knudson you rock, I'll never forget Icon ceramics Christmas party where you jammed out with Jeff Ebel from Abusement Park , We all use to work for a Bong Manufacturer back in the day in North Phoenix what good memories.
FLOTSAM AND JETSAM plAY better MUSIC than Mettalica I think.. Better Drummer by far(COKE LARS), better base of course, better vocal..(GUITARIST i DONT NEED TO MENTION)(OK FOR jAMES FOR THE SOLOS AND THE RIFFS, BUR KIRK MAKES ME FEEL SICK SORRY MET FANS).what more do I need to say.. Love the older stuff BEFORE Jason left.......sorry for bad english, i`m from Norway OK!
I remember the band on Headbangers Ball way back, the singer stated that if you turn the contrast up really high the flashes you see are like another video. It's weird but true. There's more going on "in the darkness" of the video.
jason leaving for metallica was the best thing that happened to that band as far as exposure was concerned. still a really good band with great vocals and not a lot of glam. wish they would have hit bigger
Great band. Great song. I remember seeing the premier of this on headbangers ball. There's a bunch of images floating around and showing up in odd locations. When it premiered they were guests on HB and said that if you turn up the brightness on your TV, the images would show up more clearly.
@daniz123 Have you ever heard Soundgarden? Or Alice In Chains? Both great metal bands unfairly labelled as grunge, why? Three words: Location, Location, Location.
What? We've got a cool metal band? From Seattle? Nope, that's grunge.
@Cyanarchy Maybe, but neither Alice in Chains nor Soundgarden would tour with a metal band. That sort of elitism is what killed off the fad of grunge (or alternative) very quickly. Say what you will about NuMetal, but at least they were never afraid to tour with real metal bands.
@jdr7510 Yes but they were put in the opening slot as a replacement for Death Angel who couldn't be on the tour because they had been in a bad bus accident. They were pelted with anything you could possibly imagine every night, but then The Box broke and AiC has since r efused to tour with any metal band. Soundgarden has opened for bands like Voi-Vod, but when they got popular they never brought metal bands with them to open. If I didn't know better, I might call it a conspiracy to kill metal.
I heard this song on Headbanger's Ball when I was 14, and never heard it again until tonight. No idea why I thought about it now and decided to look it up. It must be a brutal song if I remembered it for all these years.
To Me Their First 4 Albums are some of the best ever made, i dont have drift i only have 2 singles from the album "smoked out" & "blindside", And I Have "High" But Cuatro is probably my favorite...Love this song, excellent band. When The Storm Comes Down is Underrated and fuck what ppl say about the producton, it is what it is get over it and listen to the substance of the music
@RichRockerN9NE27 I find their first 3 total classics, I haven't heard all of their stuff, but Cuatro is still very consistently good, and yes the production isn't the greatest on The Storm Comes Down album, but good music doesn't need perfect production, glad someone agrees tho
@sherwin693 you need to learn how to speak the english language before you attempt to dis on flotsam moron! hate to go old school but pansy,"takes one to no one" fucking retard
Flotsam and Jetsam are in a class of their own...they`re just straight up,no phony image, but with raw, harsh, straight forward music...my favorite band, their music is a nice break from from all the other bands that seem to want to sound like someone else...or trying to fit some format...Flotsam and Jetsam just do their own thing...they`re just a great band...
One of the best songs on a truly great album.
