@mralan1969uk That's true, this camera is capable of a resolution of up to 1080. However that was not the point of this video. Here i was demonstrating what the footage looked like using editing software and exporting in a medium quality setting. I have numerous videos using this camera where i have uploaded using the highest quality settings. I also have this same exact footage uploaded (link is in the description) using the raw file straight from the camera so you can compare.
dude imm having problems when i record i get lines and they are very disturbing. When i try to play my clips in vlc and premiere with format mts. i get strange lines and not a clear picture
hi, what software did you use to edit this footage in HD? I have this handycam and i can only seem to edit it on a programme like Windows movie player if I downgrade it to mwa. Then the footage looks crap. Please help...
@imaskinnycow This particular footage was editied with Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 11, however now im using Sony Vegas Pro 9 as it offers many more features and you can export footage in a much wider selection of formats.
@wyciskTV Yes you can record with the display closed however there are two things to note. Firtstly by default the camera is set to turn on when the display is opened and turn off when it's shut, so you will need to disable power on by LCD in the menu. Also with the LCD closed you have no alternate viewfinder so you will be shooting your footage blind, however it wont be such a problem if you setting up a static shot for example.
@P1630N Thank you so much for answering. This was what I was looking for. I will be recording partly whilst riding a bike so I don't need to monitor because I'll be using a static camera mount.
From the looks of things the E/EB version is exactly the same. Different continents have slightly different model numbers, for example in the states the CX105 is known as the CX100. If your european you want the E or EB as these are the PAL versions of the camera, which one you get really doesn't matter.
This clip was edited in Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 11, however i have since moved to Vegas Pro 9, you get the same, if not better quality when rendering and a lot more options to play with.
Unfortunately it doesn't. The highest recording mode which is FH (16 mb/s) gives you full HD (1920x1080), once you go lower than that it records in 1440x1080. There is no option to record in 720p, i would have also liked this option but just have to make do with interlaced. If you want progressive shooting you are looking at cameras with double the price tag and is progressive really worth that much more? To be honest i don't think it is.
It was the first day i had with the camcorder and didn't have enough for a tripod so this is the best i could do, it was a good oppertunity to test out the steady shot though. A tripod is deffinitely something that will be on my list of things to buy for this cam, aswell as a monopod and UV filter. You can't go wrong with this camcorder, the picture quality is amazing for something of it's size. You would have a hard time finding something of this quality in this price range.
this is a 1080HD camcorder ... the uploader for some reason has decided to upload in much lower quality .....

I want to buy a Sony CX105, but whats the difference between the E-version and the EB-version? Wich one is 'better' for normal home/holiday use?

Does that mean that all YouTube videos from this camcorder are interlaced?
RomanusDigitus 2 years ago
Indeed, isn't so bad is it?
P1630N 2 years ago
No, but you obviously see that it doesn't capture motion so well. Oh well, thanks for help, I will think about it :)
RomanusDigitus 2 years ago
Yeah, we are definitely buying this one soon =) One question -- is there an option to record in 720p? I REALLY dislike anything interlaced.
