  • They were not my generation, but after seeing and hearing them perform "Aurora" in Abbott & Costello's "Hold That Ghost," I was hooked. "Boogie Woogie Bugel Boy" was nothing short of genius -- I guess Bette Midler thought so too. They are still considered the biggest selling female group of all time & charted more Billboard songs than Elvis & The Beatles. I am proud that they are in that company though. They deserve it. They had class.

  • shame the sisters grew apart in theyre later years

  • *manly tears*

  • This must have been around 1966. Am I correct? This was before LaVerne died in 1967. She was the oldest. LaVerne, the auburn one; Maxene, the brunette; and Patti, the blond,

  • you dont get music like this anymore,

im a 20 yr old and i wish the music now a days were like this

    classic and amazing

  • @jamiesexonlegs i am older than you and wish you and myself the same

  • @rudiwful this kind of music is amazing,

these sister along side of doris day, betty hutton are classics

  • Legendary. Timeless. Classic. Love those girls! Shouts out to Dean!

  • Word

  • hell, yeah !

  • Isn't Patty still around ? I thought she was the only one, but she was the second oldest, no ? Curse my bad memory. I'm only 22 ! XD

  • @katharynking Correction, Patty was the youngest. I always get confused because she was always placed in the middle (with this appearance being a rare exception). Anyway. Wiki says she lives in Northridge and is 93. Good to know !

  • I also was born too late, thank god we have the Puppini Sisters now, but they are probably never coming to Chile :(

  • About what year was this?

  • Take notes... thats the way IT'S DONE

  • does anyone know all these songs so i can listen to them

  • @deltadaddy94 They start with Dean Martin's hit "Memories Are Made Of This", then they do a quick pass at three of the sisters' 1940's hits, "Manana", "South America, Take It Away" and "Rum and Coca Cola", then finish with Deans' song again. The girls were in their prime during WW2-- but when this episode was taped, they'd been out of the limelight not quite 20 years. Still sang decent for his show..

  • @313curt they still toured and had a very successful vegas career through the 50's and early 60's, when laverne started faltering, they got off the road to help her out

  • Real professionals, LIVE! no autotune no lip sync. It doesnt get any better than this! These days its damn rare to get close to this good! I miss them.

  • @nf1001 hide them inside your heart

  • @nf1001 agreed.

  • What year was this?

  • @CohiodaMohio22

    Somewhere during the 1966 season.

  • After watching this, I'm gonna have this medley in head, and that a good thing.

  • I'm amazed he lasted as long as he did, a heavy boozer and smoker.

  • wow what voices, we miss these now

  • thank you

  • @weightfeather1 Yeah, the Andrews Sisters were HUGE in their day. Interesting how today becomes history. Dean and the Andrews Sisters were the 'today' of my parents. What will the young think of our Beyonce, James Taylor and Jimi Hendrix 50 years from now? Hopefully YouTube will help them discover our today and their history too. :)

  • They were all the best singers of the 20th century and very pretty but me Maxene stands out as the most beautiful

  • Laverne got sick and stopped touring with her sisters in the fall of 1966 according to her obituary notice

  • This was from December 1965. Laverne died in May 0f 1967.

  • They don't make 'em like Dino anymore! **sign**

  • Whew, Memories are made of Dean Martin & The Andrews Sisters....

  • Спасибо вам Американцы, что у вас есть такие артисты!!!

  • haha "rum and coca-cola"...dean martin's theme song

  • Does anyone know where I can find a posting of the Andrew Sisters performing "We Got A Lot Of Living To Do"? It use to be here on Youtbe, but it got deleted!

  • sublime

  • andrew sisters --- gun was loaded---- 1949 --- music americana---

  • wonderful seeing people that age singing so good and with such joy

  • this could not be better!

  • 19 People have are souless commies.

  • 19 people like bieber >_>

  • @FCPCTV Why would you even mention him on a video like this?

  • スゴイ!アンドリュースシスターズを超えるコーラスグループは存在しない!

  • NICE!!!

    dean martin <3

  • They are not the Andrews Sisters

  • @BreeZ0701 Um..Yes they ARE the Andrews Sisters, you dolt!

  • @BreeZ0701 they are but they are old here what a shame the aged

  • @jordan4ever100 What a silly statement - it was ageing or death.

  • wow what a classic 4 great entertainers thank u for sharing

  • I LOVE The Andrews Sisters. I grew up listening to my grandma play this music! Can't beat "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B!" The popsy music played today is very narcissistic and filled with hoodlums who talk about sex, drugs, money and women! I'd give anything for a new music revolution to start bringing back the good oldies!

  • This is so beautiful.I have watched it countless times. You can hear each sister individually.

  • To hombreingles: You have to understand at that time The Dean Martin Show was the biggest thing going. Everyone wanted to be on that show. Actually time had passed for the Andrew sisters, albeit they were great.

  • May God bless you Patty.

  • [: I love Dean Martin. <3 And the ladies. :] Dino<33

  • One thing saddens me about this...they allowed themselves to become backing singers !! They were stars in their own right and were badly advised here.

They should have only signed for a star spot on the show. Well...it happened and they certainly didn't need this kind of second rate contract.

  • Do they have teeth?

  • Sadly, you can tell by looking that LaVerne (the Middle Sister on this Video) was already suffering from the Cancer that would kill her the following year.

  • When entertainment WAS Dino was fantastic and these girls were still singing great Saw the Mills Brothers on there too Cant beat the old days God Bless Them All

  • Great video. Art is Beauty no matter the age. Lots of oldies are superbe as well as newest ones can also be very good. Different styles but good for sensitive ears and souls.

    Thanks.Sue

  • Patty looks like Bette Midler! OMG! she could be her twin!

  • I love them singing "sweet sweet, the memories you gave to me" in the first 30 seconds ^^

  • Love these songs , grew up listening to songs of the 50's .. mum & dad always played songs by these girls as well as The White Sisters etc .. and now my kids listen to these too & dont mind the oldies at all !! :D .. God Bless !!

  • watched thiss show when i was 9 yrs old, times simpler and better

  • 1:05 - 1:35 xDD The best!!

  • @TheDeepThinkingDoll Hahaha I agree. :D

  • I remember watching his tv show. They still are as good as they were then.

  • Fracken epic........ im speechless....

  • So, did Dean sleep with all three?

  • the andrew sisters rock as vocal studies go they rock ? i miss this in our social network.tThank god for the sixties.

  • Vulgar about people who are no longer with us and cannot defend themselves.

  • the sisters look good.

  • My college roommate and I use to watch Dean's show in the 60's.

He had the Gold Diggers, God were they beautiful.

  • Andrews Sisters got much older they're maybe in their sixties here?

  • @ElectricGuitarManPL they were in the mid - late fifties in this song. laVerne sadly Passed away in that same year. patty is the only one still with us

  • They replaced the line "Go down for 2 dollar" from Rum & Coca Cola! Was this to please the sponsor?

  • Well done.

  • my god i was born too late :(

  • @TheSpongion Don't worry child, you have the chance listen and appreciate 80 years of good music. Enjoy it the have other 80.

  • Was this clip from 1967?

  • Dean Martin and Joan Collins go back a long way. When Joan was in Hollywood, Dean decided to pay homage the lovely actress at her hotel suite. He knocked on her door but Joan wouldn't let him in, saying - "Go away, I'm tired" - to which Dean replied - "oh, come on Baby, you owe me one !". Just then Sinatra opened the door and said, "the lady is tired" and shut the door again.....some guys, eh !!

  • Comment removed

  • @macvatu That's is Hollywood was like but they sure put out some wonderful entertainment and we c

ould use more of that sff!

  • @macvatu "Just then Sinatra opened the door and said, "the lady is tired" and shut the door again.....some guys, eh !! "

no he said "the lady is tired because I just got done giving her a makeover and doing her makeup for her" and dean said "jeepers i wanted to do her hair" and then they had tea

  • @kumada84 .....makes you wonder what the hell they were up to ???.... . . but I can well imagine the look on Martin's face when he heard Frank's voice telling him to clear off ....

  • @macvatu Truly... Haha.

  • Oh how I love they're humor :D

  • So sad this is the last one. They clearly had a lot of gas left in the tank... For this one moment, Dean needed to step aside. The brief snippet of Rum and Coca and Cola was the highlight...

  • simpl;y marvelous

  • Dean Martin is so smooth, laid back and sings so effortlessly. He's KOOL

  • Whoever dislikes this, deserves the death penalty.

  • whooaaa they're getting old, but still awesoome!! :D

  • ONE GIRL ONE BOY , SOME GRIEVE SOME ENJOY

  • Seriously....who's fingers slipped and "disliked" this????

  • 1966....so many years since the Andrews Sisters were really big and yet they sounded just GREAT in this clip.

  • wow! what a find! this is just BeAuTiFuL!!!

  • How could anyone not appreciate this? You got Dino and the Andrews Sisters - shame that this was their last performance - but they really seemed to enjoy it!!

  • Believe it or not..Italian TV STILL offers this SPICE..Peace via Music..Ciao, Adios, Bye..VIVA MARIA!

  • Believe it or not..Italian TV STILL ofrers this SPICE..Peace via Music..Ciao, Adios, Bye..VIVA MARIA!

  • This is so beautiful<3 Wonderful talent right here.

  • which is Patti?

  • @irish89055 Patti is the 1st from left. i believe she is alive & 92 yrs. old today.

  • Wow this is so good.

    More of this thank you.

    Mike

  • I have always loved the Andrew Sisters. I think Lavern died in 1967. They were wonderful!

  • Fantastic!!! :)

  • wow their figures are still the same!!! =O

  • whats the name if the song?

  • @mariafem it's actually a medley of songs. in order they are:

    Memories are made of this

    Manana

    South America Take It Away

    Rum and Coca Cola

    Memories are made of this.

  • @JasonSeaman1 aah really !!? ... i didnt know =D thank youu

  • The Andrews Sisters were and are still greats among the thousands. They all have genuine talent, and although some of their songs could me mistaken for being racist the intention was always pure and good. only in our modern world do we pick on lyrics from songs like Rum & Coca Cola and say shame, this was common language in those days and they tell a story about circumstances and people, not how we do now with filth and shocking language. The Puppini Sisters have taken on many Andrews Sisters s

  • I love andrew sisters :)

  • Dean Martin and The Andrews Sisters are great together. Thanks for posting.

  • @weightfeather1 Good job and I am glad that there are no attampts at trying to make them sound modern by combining rap with them. That would be doomed to failure. It seems like you guys have a nice set of very talented people here who are willing to lend their voices for true good music. Nice selection of singers too. BTW what college do you go to at 50 if you do not mind me asking? Please put your vids here and I may probably end up being one of your fans.

  • They look great!! Big Band was one of America's greatest contributions in the world. We all should be proud of it, no matter what music you listen to--and the Andrews Sisters were a major part of it--a distinct sound

  • Dean was MR. Cool.

  • @calif562 I thought he was Mr. Martin.

  • @weightfeather1 Thats great. I am glad people younger than me are taking interest in this kind of music. I am glad you have a fan base. Tell me which songs do you sing? Which artists do you guys take your songs from? I hope you stick to the original songs and do not add modern rap or heavy metal tunes. I also hope you guys dress nicely with suits, instead of torn jeans and torn shirts. Please stick to the conservative and classy side of this kind of music. Put ur vids on utube for all to see.

  • I didnt know dean was gay.

  • @weightfeather1 Well I am young, in my 20's but i have always love this kind of music. I do not know why, but modern music like rap, heavy metal and hip hop do not even interest me. TV shows like Jersey Show, Glee and others are all stupid. Most of their jokes are all sexualy related and it looks like nobody will laugh at those jokes without having a sexual angle. Even movies are stupid. Too much drugs, violence and nudity involved. Movies like jack ass need to be pulled and destroyed. PC is bad

  • @weightfeather1 agree with u. todays shows are all stupid.

  • 楽しい ♪♪!

  • I never tire of this. CLASS!! God Damit!! These Are "Pop Music Legends"!!

  • real talent not this crap you see on america idol

  • Are they all gone know? R.I.P The far left sister (sorry I am not knowing their names) She has been taken on my Bette Midler!! I thought it was her! red dress..size, hair. Long live The Andrews. this is a wonderful post. Thank you.x

  • I think I liked LaVerne the best, she had such a classic look to her. RIP <3

  • Lovely....

  • what great talents......

  • Dean Martin's voice is a perfect match with the Andrews sisters. They all sound so great here..and Dean looks as cool and confident as ever..Thanks for the great video!

  • casi me vine!!! (no se còmo se diga en inglés, lo siento) I almost cumm (espero que este bien)

  • absolutely fantastic!!! Could I know the titles of these songs? I only know "Memories are made of this"...

  • Love this old music

  • agreed

  • the music from the boswell sisters to the rat pack is just indescribable :)

  • ommgosh i love this i practically see their love child did they ever sing with the whole rat pack??

  • 1 girl 1 boy... yet dean has 3 on the line... he's such a player

  • Dean Martins dance is absolutely fantastic

  • What year was this?

  • @pittsky It was 1966.

  • @JasonSeaman1

Thanks for the great upload. When did they record their last official songs for a record company?

  • I LOVE the Andrews sisters and dean martin! They take up most of my ipod :)

  • My point was..... This brand of entrainment would not fair well on TV today. In a world dominated by hip hop and grunge, the Andrew Sisters would be considered "corny". The reason I viewed this clip to begin with is I like dean Martin's shows and the Andrew Sisters.

  • @pm0501 true

  • SO MANY GREAT GREAT MEMORIES, MAKES ME WISH I WAS 50 YEARS YOUNGER NOW. THESE LADYS AND DINO HAD CLASS WITH A CAPITAL 'C'. AND EXTREME TALENT, SOMETHING VERY AMISS FROM TODAYS DISC TRASH. NUFF SAID.

  • @Killeybegs Hopefully we young people can get this country back on track and redevelop a culture that produces stuff like this rather than the immoral socialist Lady Gaga crap that's out there now.

  • @thedavidwilson:

Very silly comment by another immoral ideologist: You won´t believe it - THERE ARE PEOPLE who can listen to Lady Gaga AND The Andrew Sisters.

You are an boring old fart of an ideologist, probably embittered by life. Shut the fuck up and consult a talk therapist, You Tube is not an ersatz for psychotherapy of your problems with the modern world.

  • i love dean martin and the andrews sisters :)

  • Patty still are whit us

  • I love this! Does anyone know what year this show was aired? I wish they added boogie woogie bb or at least sang rum and coca cola a verse longer. Wouldnt it be nice to have met these ladies in person?

  • @boomchikawowwowo

I think this was in late 1964 or '65. In 1966, they found out LaVerne couldn't perform anymore because she had Cancer... I forgot when...

  • I heard Patty Andrews is still alive. Who of these three ladies is she?

  • @waffeltje

The blonde headed one is Patty, the one who's pinching Dean's cheek...

The one in the middle is the oldest sister LaVerne, then the last one at the far left is Maxene, who's like a couple inches shorter than Patty, even though Patty is younger than Maxene... sorry. To much info hmm?

  • @beyoncetyratina

haha, nono this is great info! I know so little of the andrew sisters, but I absolutely adore their music!

  • @waffeltje

    LOL, same here!

  • 927 people liked this. 13 douchebags disliked this

  • Wow!! I was (still am) a fan of Dean & The Sisters. You see how they perform? How good the timing is? The sisters looked 20 and their body language very sexy. Great artists!!

  • wowwwwwwww absolutey beautiful love the Andrew Sister's Love Dean Martin as well they sing so good together in this clip don't make them like they use too

  • Ich liebe Dean Martin, was ein toller Entertainer.

  • these were icons

  • whats with all the jerks making know-it-all statements? enjoy the clip for what it is and stop pretending to be experts on dean and the andrews sisters. opinions are like assholes... everyone has one and most of them stink. just appreciate their talent and the smiles they brought to millions.

  • @sickkat44 I know what you mean but that's why people are given the option to post a comment....whether they do so as a "shit don't stink" authority with their index finger pointing upward or a humble admirer with their hands folded on their laps...either way and in between, variety is the spice of life my friend.

  • Awesome!!! Did you catch that reference in " rum and Cola" too much rum no cola.....a reference to the somewhat running joke on Dean drinking but what I love about Dean is he drank too much but was always SPOT ON... always ready to perform and perform perfectly..unlike the punks now who's substance abuse makes them DAMN FOOLS and drama queens..

  • this is just wonderful. it is amazing how long these artists in the old age lasts, with different kinds of attractiveness in every stage... this is what I call devotion to art and entertainment! I am a post-80 person btw : )

  • jason, please accept my sin cerest gratitude for the contributions. terence.

  • I've got one thing to say.. about this--the Andrew sisters and Dean!!! Its WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!! Thank you Dean loved to perform with this kind of GREAT Talent!!! Thank you

  • is that bruce buffer

  • Amazing singers! Love them!!

  • this was back when you could turn on the radio listen to something that wasn't bleeped every other word D; andrew sister= awesome, dean martin= awesome andrew sisters & dean martion= freaking awesome :D

  • @hkfan1980

i dont care about swearing in music or bleeping stuff out....i just care about talent, and todays radio play music is talentless, soulless vomit inducing drivel...

what happened? why are we letting our kids watch that shit? its god awful...

  • @RENN357 i agree. Back then you didn't get a record label unless you could sing. now it's your dad's famous or you're cute we'll make you a star. :(

  • best thing ive ever seen

  • I LOVE DEAN MARTIN TOO MUCH haha

  • so fun. probably not long before laVerne died (the redhead, cancer). thx soo much 4 posting this. btw patty (the blonde) is still alive
