This is vaguely coming back to me now. Screen One and Two used to love giving comic actors a chance at the straight stuff didn't they? I well remember Nigel Planer, Alexei Sayle, Les Dawson and a pre Frost David Jason (one in which he played a chemist? And another the father of a son about to be executed for bringing drugs into a foreign country?) getting their breaks into drama via these wonderful one offs.
