Dick Driver was the interviewer, I believe it was late '88. I remember seeing then in Wellington a few days earlier... ear splittingly loud, Jim sang with the mic perched on an upside down stand, there was no talking between songs, and at times there was so much fog on stage that all you could see was the red lights on the Marshalls. Can't think of any other band that has the balls to do that!
@sethpin67 ...yeah ..i remember...around this time in N.Z a couple of goth kids committed suicide..(think they gassed themselves in a car)..would of been about a week before this j.a.m.c tour, bit of a ruckus in the news towards the music etc...the time of black stovepipes ,10 hole doc martens ,winklepickers, leather, walking around looking like the bastard son of the velvet underground....and hiding from the skins....
Seems to me the clip's actually from October 1988, around the time the Reids supported Iggy Pop in Australia and NZ. I don't remember spotting William's "burn baby burn" American flag T-shirt before 1988.
Coolest and most underrated band of the 80's. Possibly of all time.

lol when he asked about the noise and feedback on the first album...as though they diddn't know and it may be just shoddy recording

The Arctic Monkeys apologised for slagging off Take That this week...
It's been a long, ridiculous 24 years since this interview.
