  • Is there a setting on the camera to take pictures at certain intervals?

  • Is the dog always otuside???

  • @TheAllevian Yep

  • LOL How u do this vid i can make only 5 min of movie ?

  • @smookiens2 You don't use the vid function. You take a pic every few seconds (manually, or an interval timer if your camera has one, or using a program like some people have mentioned here) and then u combine them in a program.

  • @8Trigramz Ok i have the same camera Nikon d90 which was used in this vid. How i can set a camera 2 take a pictures for 24h without me. u said Program but which one ? Set it manually i dk about this in my camera.. Could u help me in this ? Give some guidelines or smth ? :) Thx

  • @smookiens2 You will need an interval timer (just search interval timers for D90). It's bascially a a timer u connect to your camera and you can set it to take a pic at any interval you want (eg: 1sec, 5sec, etc..). I think the D300 has this function built in but not a lot of cameras do. So people use interval timers. That's your best option. As for programs, you probably have to just search as i dont know of any since i havent really done much time-lapse.

  • what hemisphere are you in?

  • @mendebil Northern, why did you ask?

  • what you do with the hundreds of pictures that were taken is the question. everyone glances over this. no real explanation has been given as to how you process these pics. you say quick time pro. right. is there any other program such as imovie in the mac? does enyone know. Thanks

  • when you get done with the shooting, you end up with even thousands of photos.. with quicktime pro you can make these photos a video file which you can then import into your favourite video editing software to edit and publish :)

  • Well done!

  • do u have to run back to the camera every 5 minutes becos i think the movie mode is limited to 5 minutes per take.

  • its not the movie mode. a timelapse is a video made of many pictures put together quick time pro ect. you do 1 photo every 5 or 10 sec. or maybe every 3 minutes. there are a few programms to do timelapse while the camera is coneccted to the computer. I think threre should also be a timelapse-app in what you get with the camera.

  • doing timelapse is very clever, because in most places ( e.g. forests ) where you want to do a video e.g. of the sunset, nothing is moving exept the sun. the sun is moving very slowly, so it should work well with 1 photo every 7 sec´s. you´re saving much space on your card/hard disc/ect.

for more information contact me and watch my video.

hope i could help you. sorry, for my bad english, see you

  • how come u dont ran out of batteries?

  • Nice job!

There is no limit to what you can do with this camera. I love mine. You have a shit load of birds. Cool dog.

  • what program did you use to edit this time lapse video?

  • Nothing complicated, I just used Quicktime to create an "image sequence" from the pictures and saved it as a .mov file

  • you can use this one: Aputure AP-TR3N LCD Timer Remote for Nikon D90 D5000 MC-DC2

    (google it)

  • you can use the nikon MC-DC2 remote control and set the camera on 1 fps then put the camera on multiple pictures (L) next to AF on top of the D90 press the button on the remote then lock it it will take pictures until you unlock the MC-DC2 or run out of space on your memory card make sure you have the mb-d80 battery pack for long periods of time have fun...

  • dowload NKremote and BANG it do it for you!

I just bought a copy of it and it connected direct my D90.

  • nice video, on my D80 I use a mc-36 remote control becuase i dont have a laptop.

    nice work.

  • how the hell do you do this

  • Just connected the camera to a laptop running camera control pro 2 demo.

  • funnyily enough last night i installed the D90 Nikon CD Install, CCP2 2.0 and 2.4 update... and then plugged the camera in.. BAM it worked.. no idea why.. but yeah.. weird. that was XP.. so now im going to try Vista.

  • Glad you got it sorted

  • at least u can get this application to work with ur D90.. ive tried everything to get my to detect my D90 and still no dice.. whats the secret of getting it to connect to the PC?

  • Did you update it? I know that when I went to use it first it wouldn't detect my D90 but I downloaded the update from Nikon's web site and it works perfectly.

  • update the D90? as in firmware? i looked at the site and it said 1.00 or something which is the same as mine. unless u mean something else? are u able to link me?

  • No sorry, I meant update camera control pro. It wouldn't work with my D90 at first but I downloaded the update at it worked fine.

  • Try changing the USB mode from Massive Storage to POP

  • It looks very blurry to me...

  • did you use a laptop?

  • Yes I did, the laptop was plugged in but the D90 battery ran out at just under 1000 shots.
