  • thank you so much for sharing it, but if we don't have black salt-optional or roasted cumin seeds powder can we still make it ? thank you

  • thanks am gonna go to make it right now as we have sunshine today in uk!! : )

  • Hi Manjula! How would you describe the taste and flavor of your Fruit Chaat?

  • Just the yummy salad for spring/summer!! = D

  • Where do you get black salt?

  • First warm day of spring here on the Central Coast of California, and this looks mighty fine to eat today! By the way, what is black salt?

  • @vutEwa Black salt is a dark pink colored rock salt used in Indian cooking that has a sulferous taste to it. It blends in well in dishes though. No other salt I've run into will substitute for it. I find it very good on boiled eggs myself although my wife can't stand it.

  • can you tell me how this tastes? sweet or sour or salty or ??

  • you are so humble and nice recipe !

  • Very good. Everyone enjoyed the salad at the pot luck. Thanks.

  • Hi Manjula! Do you think you could make a recipe for tomato shorba? I don't know if you've made one already, but I would greatly appreciate if you showed us your delicious take on it! :)

  • How do you make roasted cumin powder? I don't think I can buy it in a store.

  • @marcus7w Roast the cumin either on a pan for 2-3 mins on low flame or in microwave for 40-60 sec. Let it cool and then Grind it to make powder.

  • @marcus7w Sir ...you just have to take cumin seeds and roast them on a medium high heat pan for about 30 seconds ....be aware of not to burn them ....otherwise they will tast bitter and get dark ....enjoy your cooking ...

  • looks really nice! thanks for sharing :)

  • Such a flavorful dish Manjula!! Thx so much for this recipe.
