Someone needs to step up to the plate & install a rocket engine aboard this creation. Granted it probably will suffer the same fate as the original...short flight time with a transition into glider status..........but the airframe is complete right here. Way dangerous for sure to do this ....but imagine using current rocket technology! It could wind up the star of air-shows the world over!

@thomasuras The original was also a glider, it's fuel only lasted a few minutes but took it to 30,000 feet in just two minutes. When the fuel gave out then it would glide back to land. That's a hell of a glider for a 65 year old design.

WW2 jet planes were more a victory of engineering than a true Luftwaffe effective weapon. Pilots were trained to approach enemy planes at much lower speed, so when riding ME262 or ME163, they basically had to aim and shoot all weapons in just a blink, before they were already away from the bomber pack, or out of fuel.

Pero en ningun momento se lo ve ascender ,el motor a base de peroxido de hidrogeno costo mas vidas entre quienes lo piloteaban que la trazadoras de los b 17,aparte de que para desenganchar el tren ejectable sin que el rebote afecte al me 163 se debe ser un experto,Hana Reich utilizo sus influencias para volarlo y resulto herida en el accidentado descenso , eso casi termina con el proyecto komet,adelantado a su tiempo el trasbordador espacial es un descendiente de este pequeño cohete.

da hast du absolut recht, ist nicht scale und sieht scheisse aus. wieso überhaupt nachbauen? macht doch keinen sinn, ist ein schlechter segler, und mit feststoff antrieb wäre es viel zu teuer und hirnrissig. erinnert euch an die gute alte zeit und damit schluss.......

It is a very stable little aeroplane and with pretty good glide characteristics, which I suppose it needed as the engine burn was only a few minutes.

I think that video was slowed down, or you converted the fuel so it would be safer but not as fast.

Die Messerschmitt Me-163 hat mich schon immer fasziniert... Ein toller Flieger mit wahnsinnig toller Aussicht. DIe Bordbewaffnung haut echt rein, in wenigen Sekunden ist eine B-17 oder eine B-24 beschädigt... Schade jedoch, dass "nur" 60 Patronen pro Kanone zur Verfügung stehen. Ansonsten wäre die Me-163 auch ein exzellenter JaBo!

An dieser Me-163 ist so ziemlich alles falsch was man falsch machen kann.

Form der Kuve ist falsch, Form des Seitenleitwerks ist falsch, Flächengeometrie falsch, Position der Fläche im Rumpf falsch, Kabinenhaube falsch, Spornrad falsch, ...

Man könnte beliebig lange weitermachen...

Schön, dass ein Nachbau gemacht wurde, aber wenn dann doch bitte richtig, oder gleich bleiben lassen...

Diese Me-163 ist soweit ich weiß ein Eigenbau eines Privatmannes (Holz-Konstruktion) die anschließend and die Messerschmittstiftung vermacht wurde. Mit der Konstruktion hat die Stiftung also nichts zu tun.

Zum einen isses natürlich schön, dass es eine flugfähige Me-163 gibt, zum anderen isses schade, dass der Erbauer so stark von den Originalplänen abgewichen ist.

Der Flieger wurde von einem privaten Entusiasten als Experimental gebaut und später von der Messerschmitt-Stiftung gekauft. Das erste Kriterium für den Erbauer war sicher die sicheren Flugeigenschaften und die Zulassungsbedingungen. Ich empfehle jedem Nörgler ein eigenes Flugzeug mit den eigenen Händen zu bauen, es von den Behörden abnehmen zu lassen und im Anschluß den eigenen Hintern damit in die Luft zu hängen.

Für einen Privatnachbau in Holz ein verdammt guter Kompromiß! Besser eine 80% Lösung als gar kein fligender Nachbau. Schon mal selber eine 1:1 Replik mit eigenen Händen gebaut und finanziert???? Kann die sauertöpfische Nörgelei nicht nachvollziehen.

@HarryNator8 möglicherweise weil es als segelflugzeug gebaut wurde und nicht als raketenflugzeug. deswegen evtl. andere aerodynamische Eigenschaften.
