any idea why my Indigo powder wont realease the blue/blackish dye from it ive tried 3 diffrent indigo packet's now not 1 of are working propley and there are 100% indigo very frustrating thanks.!
@SoundOut260 it might be old. If it doesn't work, then it might not be that good. That's what it sounds like. Is it 100% pure indigo? What do the ingredients say? Usually local shops don't carry really good indigo, and its rare to find it there too.
@HennaSooq hi there it does say on the packet 100% indigo but like you say its probley old and no good i will to get myself some reaaly good stuff ...have you got a web site im from the uk how much Pure Indigo + postage many thanks
@SoundOut260 it doesn't let us post links but it's in the info of this video. We do have really amazing indigo and you should get the one that says indigo for hair. Postage starts at $11.95 to the UK
How long should I keep the henna and indigo on my hair to dye it black? I normally leave henna and cassia on my hair for about 4 hours. Do I need to leave it on my hair for that long? Thanks!
@barose1 Yes each treatment for hair dyeing/color is at least 3-4 hours OR with heat you can cut it in half. If you are going for black tones, you'll do a 2 step process and leave on each part, 1st henna, and then second indigo for 3-4 hours each or with heat, again, you can cut it in half.
@HennaSooq - I purchased the Lush Brown Hair Kit from your booth at the Natural Hair Show in Atlanta. I'm wanting add a black tone to my hair. Would I apply the henna and indigo separately, as well as use the entire packet (100 grams) of each one? It was very nice to meet you and I love your henna art. Thanks!!!
@Ellejen50 Thank you for coming by! What is your hair length and thickness so I can recommend the right quantity. Also yes you would do your henna first and indigo second so that you can get black tones. Full strength of each. It's called a 2 step process.
@HennaSooq You're very welcome. My hair is shoulder length and very thin (breakage from to much heat). I've been straightening my hair for the past 2 1/2 years and decided back in March to stay away from flat irons. I'm hoping the henna will help regain my hair's health.
@HennaSooq You're very welcome. My hair is shoulder length and thin (breakage from flat irons, in which I've given up). I hope using henna on a monthly basis will help strengthen my hair and regain it's health. Thanks!
@HennaSooq - my goals is to color my hair with henna. I would like brown color with NO red tones whatsoever. It was suggested I use Rajasthani henna and Indigo. I don't know what proportions to use (especially indigo) as the it makes a difference in attaining brown to black color. Please advise. Thank you!!!
@indegenous78 I'd recommend the new indigo we have in for darker results or for more resistant hair. Use at least 60% indigo and 40% henna, if not a bit more indigo for darker results.
Audio was a little difficult to hear. I should have watched the video first. I already made my mix. I didn't do separately. I mixed 2 tblsps of henna and 3 tblsps of indigo together and then added hot coffee. Will mixing the two together make a difference? Will using coffee vs. plain hot water make a difference? Thanks in advance.
@maltesesistah Sorry that it was a bit low. Thanks for letting me know your thoughts on that. It does make a difference as henna and indigo have different timings for dye release. So they should be mixed seperately or the indigo won't work as well as it should. You would mix them together as pastes once they have both achieved dye release. Instructions (written) also come with products purchased from us. Coffee or warm water are both fine. Coffee can tone down the red as well.
@HennaSooq Thank you for answering so fast. Another question please, is it necessary to shampoo d hair before henna application or can i just do a ACV rinse to avoid product build up in my hair? Is it better to rinse henna and then indigo using conditioner and after that deep conditioning hair? or it will take better if u just rinse with water. Thank you in advance.
You can just make sure your hair is clean and doesn't have a greasy build up. Whichever you like to use for that beforehand would be okay. Clean hair is good.
A lot of people do like using a conditioner afterwards. Do that especially if you know your hair will like it. Some also just rinse. It really depends on your hair and how it holds it. I can shampoo and condition without issues but some need a cool rinse to help it stick really well.
@virgivane Test a few hair strands out to be sure. Once you see how it reacts that is the best way to see how you'll have to do your hair regimen since I'm not there to see your actual hair and results. I hope this helps
Great video. I need to order some powders. I want to cover my mom's gray hairs. She has middle of her back length locs and I am thinking of using jamila henna and then indigo. I'm a little nervous about this so please give me some tips. Thanks.
@StealMyHeartLovee The Jamila with indigo will be perfect to use. What tone would she like for her hair? Is there something else I could go over that would help?

Hi, I want to use henna for stronger, thicker and softer hair, however I want to keep my hair color, I don't want any reddish tone. What should I do?
sweetbee06 1 year ago
@sweetbee06 You should use cassia obovata instead. We do carry that herb and others as listed in our videos.

once u finish doing henna, so you have to dry your hair after rinsing it out in order to apply indigo or you can apply it on wet hair?
virgivane 1 year ago
@virgivane No you don't have to dry your hair. You can if you'd like to but on damp hair is better as I find it goes on easier on damp hair.
