  • This is because of former Hindu Rana government . In Muluki Ain (National Code of Nepal) of 1854 written by J.B Rana with help from Brahmin advisers, the Tharu were made as bonded laborer(Kamaiya). Because of this codification where different ethnic group were classified accordingly, Tharu suffered the worst form of discrimination.
