I still Say they should Keep the Ford Ranger in thier line up and make this engine and option, I meen who wouldnt want a Ranger with a V6 with THIS kind of power and milage? Give it a couple years and you know you will start seeing people doing a Ecoboost Swap into Rangers, so why wont ford just do it and make them some money and give the people what they want?

I know it may be a stretch but Ford should rack up 300k miles on the engine and then test it out. IMO 150k on an engine is pretty much nothing these days.

I wanted to see how this test went, the EcoBoost really interests me. The GM HD VS HD test was a lot more informative than this garbage. If you want to live out your Paul Bunyon fantasies, then go ahead. This test is useless in the real world, people buy trucks to haul and pull trailers, there are specialized pieces of equipment in the logging industry that do a lot better than the F150 at pulling logs.

@jebcmb A twin turbo v-6. If you boost a smaller engine it can easily make more power than a bigger N/A engine. This V-6 is being fed and taking in more air than most V-8's in trucks even with the smaller displacement. And as you know, more air more fuel more power. Pretty simply really.

Ive pulled logs that big with my gmc 1500. My truck only has a 4.3l V6 and it pulled them easily in 2wd. Not that impressive

@brettlinton even if your telling the truth about logs you pull being as big, the whole point is to show the low end torque AFTER 150,0000 brutal miles that you would never be able to replicate. Sure your truck can pull the logs, but how fast? put your money where your mouth is and put a video up to show if you think your truck can keep up.

@throwingchamp611 True, my truck only has 150,000km on it, but I found that once I got the log moving I could go as fast as I wanted, its just the initial pull to get the log moving that was a bit difficult. Im not saying my truck has anywhere near the torque of the F-150 I just meant that any truck could do this... Next time im out in the bush I'll take a video pulling some logs.

nahh, a 5500lb log, without wheels means much more drag than the weight the log is. This is a large load, and its a half ton. A dodge or shevy would break, or have to go really slow. Before you post, do payload and towing capacity comparison, ford wins on both.
