I think Wengers philosophy of training young caught the world by suprise 8 years ago. But football has changed since Abramovich. You need a strong, well established squad to hold a serious title challenge, something Arsenal haven't had in 4 years.

Wenger needs to make 2 midfield signings his priority. Arshavin and Gokhan Inler, one attacking, and one greatly rated Def mid. After that i believe he should swap gallas for a tall and sensible centre back, and then get Shay Given to fill Almunias shoes. Walcott should be back around late feb / early march, then we will be unstoppable with that squad !

I think because our injuries are always on the flanks, Wenger will try to bring in a winger to free up Diaby & Denilson. They're always used as cover on the wings, but theyre both central players. If we got Arshavin, I think he would go on the right, Nasri on the left & Diaby & Denilson in the centre. Denilson hasnt made the holding role his own purely because of how often hes had to go out wide. And we've only seen glimpses of what Diaby can do, he was great behind the striker against Fenerbace
My point is I dont think we're gonna buy a like-for-like replacment for Cesc. That would be impossible lol. Even though Arshavin does look amazing behind the strikers, and certainly prefers those diagonal runs in, he'll still be a winger for us. Just like Freddi, Pires, Hleb and Rosicky, they're all wide players who are more suited to playing behind the strikers. Arshavin fits the mould perfectly.
Well, what I was thinking is that he will fill Cesc's role until he gets back, cause I don't know if you saw the game today but Diaby wasn't doing ANYTHING other than do tricks on the ball. And when Ramsey came on he wasn't doing very much either. So until Cesc gets back I'm almost certain Wenger will put him in the middle. If not than oh well.. guess we'll have another awesome world class winger. :P

In term of his playing ability he is like Hleb but so much better, if we only signed him when he was 21 he would be world player of the year instead of that overrated Ronaldo, as he bottles it at big games.

Arsenal's attack is weak now, but when we are healthy we have the strongest attack. We need to increase our defense and sign an experienced full back. As long as we can stop the goals from coming in, we have a better chance at winning. That's why man u wins, becuase they allow the least amount of goals. Arshavin would be a great signing, but not worth 20 mil. Arsenal should continue using their philosophy of starting young, and it will pay off in the end. Arsenal will prob sign Gervinho tho.

I think Wengers philosophy of training young caught the world by suprise 8 years ago. But football has changed since Abramovich. You need a strong, well established squad to hold a serious title challenge, something Arsenal haven't had in 4 years.
Apart from the blowup doll Arsenal "fans". The true fans know that something is wrong. Man U, Liverpool and Chelsea have all spent big on established strikers - Berbatov, Tevez, Torres, Drogba.
Arsenal need an established striker and centre back.

Wenger needs to make 2 midfield signings his priority. Arshavin and Gokhan Inler, one attacking, and one greatly rated Def mid. After that i believe he should swap gallas for a tall and sensible centre back, and then get Shay Given to fill Almunias shoes. Walcott should be back around late feb / early march, then we will be unstoppable with that squad !

I think because our injuries are always on the flanks, Wenger will try to bring in a winger to free up Diaby & Denilson. They're always used as cover on the wings, but theyre both central players. If we got Arshavin, I think he would go on the right, Nasri on the left & Diaby & Denilson in the centre. Denilson hasnt made the holding role his own purely because of how often hes had to go out wide. And we've only seen glimpses of what Diaby can do, he was great behind the striker against Fenerbace

My point is I dont think we're gonna buy a like-for-like replacment for Cesc. That would be impossible lol. Even though Arshavin does look amazing behind the strikers, and certainly prefers those diagonal runs in, he'll still be a winger for us. Just like Freddi, Pires, Hleb and Rosicky, they're all wide players who are more suited to playing behind the strikers. Arshavin fits the mould perfectly.

Well, what I was thinking is that he will fill Cesc's role until he gets back, cause I don't know if you saw the game today but Diaby wasn't doing ANYTHING other than do tricks on the ball. And when Ramsey came on he wasn't doing very much either. So until Cesc gets back I'm almost certain Wenger will put him in the middle. If not than oh well.. guess we'll have another awesome world class winger. :P
