In fact, I wouldn't really call it a remake, it is more like the third game in the saga, and so far every generation has one ( Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, Platinum). Not only that, but they are sorta hinting the fact that there might be a remake of R/S/E when they made Dive an HM in B/W.

Fallarbor kinda looked like a settlement to me. You're walking through the ashfields getting attacked by Spinda everywhere you look and suddenly you come up to a quiet town in the middle of nowhere.

It was still a pretty cool place, though. There hasn't been anything with the same characteristics in any Pokémon game.
