  • Like if your still listening to this in 2012! <3

  • To be honest, if someone wants to prostitute themselves, I really don't care as long as their using protection. There's much worse on Earth tbh.

It's no different then porn :p

  • I was really young when I learnt this song like 6 or 7 , and I had no Idea what it was about I just liked it then Im 13 now and I listened to it again and now that I know its a really harsh song. I love it but the words are really deep. : / never knew what it was about never thought it would so deep..

  • i agrre though she shouldnt have to live like that but hey moneys moneys shit as long as you aint doing stupid shit and working ur ass off for your kid and makin sure hes fed..then you doing better than dumbass who dont do nothing!

  • im loven this song so many people doing this god just help them

  • the top comment makes no sense, hes helping her with his advice and criticism i admit not everyone wants to be but some people need it and if he were to helo her out with money and shit like that hed only be doing what these other men are doing without the sex and whatever else

  • luv dis song

  • She ain't havin' trouble findin' a job. She's a stripper/prostitute!!! Now cum git muh money beeeitch!!! Good job... She shouldn't have had kids until she was financially ready in the first place.

  • @blacksunprison13 She probably was, but obviously her man got put in jail, so she has to work harder now.

  • i fuckin love this song

  • Just Listen To The Damn Song And Shut Up. iTs Talking About The Struggles People Face. Now Shut Up.

  • ilove this song .

  • This is the music that we should have now instead of all that new crap this song will be with me my whole life!!!

  • Its a shame this song has such a great hook but the rapping is substandard lyricaly and delivery wise.

  • This music is oldskool to me!

  • I find the lyrics to this song depressing, yet I like this song so much.

  • i remember this song from a few years ago when i heard it and i loved it cause it actuall meant somehting

  • songs that actually mean somethin thank god

  • 28 people dont know what the fuck they would do! :)

  • this song makes me sad my mom went thow all dat 2 just 4 me

  • this is one of my favorite songs by this group the putting the girl down i kinda harsh but still it passed with me

  • what happened to music like this! no rapper makes music that people can relate too anymore the only song that i heard latley that had a i guesss a meaning was that song by lil wayne but thats only one sog why cant they make music about reall issues not music about goin to partys and having sex with girls and driving cars

  • this such bull shit they stole the beat from about 3 songs and the lyrics are basicly stolen to

  • I used to listen to this all the time when I was in elementary school. At the time, I did not realize how great these lyrics are. Wow, I wish songs were still like this today.

  • @Superbluegirl1991 they are pleanty of songs just like this out to day....lil wayne how to love

  • I grew up with this song <3

  • tru lyrics real talk

  • I always got mad when that dude criticize the girl...

Like it's difficult to find a job with little to no education, and while raising a son, but there he goes saying she's making excuses, but it's not like he's gonna help her.

  • @MissTeenageNothing it's really not that hard. it is excuses. i go to school everyday, have a job, and take care of my son with no help.

  • @11erikachristin

That's great for you. I'm glad.

But not everyone gets to succeed in this world, regardless of how much they try. Now I don't know enough about this fictionalized girl, but neither do you.

  • @11erikachristin thats a lie it is too really hard there is no reson to lie about it .,,

  • @11erikachristin how old are you?

  • @11erikachristin well that's you not everybody is able to do that.Doesn't mean they should be criticized. but maybe you should think that you may be more fortunate than some and there are some who are far more fortunate than you. We are all human. We all make mistakes. We shouldn't judge.

  • @11erikachristin you probably have a supportive family ? or didn't have a tough life.

  • @11erikachristin More power to you ma.

  • @11erikachristin I give you props! I am 14 and mom is broke. I have 3 sisters and brother. My mom cant work. My sister works but barley brings in 200 a month. Hope you and your son stay srong!

  • @11erikachristin your awesome

  • @MissTeenageNothing why get pregnant at that age? why have no education? why help her financially when he has his shit to do too? i respect she does whatever it takes to take care of her kid id feel bad for her that she has to do that but i can see what he's saying. also i wouldn't help her...how many single parents have you helped?

  • @SL4VE0WNER1904619 Well obviously she didn't mean to get pregnant that early. It was a mistake but she's doing what she can to survive. If that means she has to get to some illicit business well, so be it.

My point is that he's telling her to "get up on her feet" as if its the easiest thing in the world to do. She has no family. No schooling. And he sure isn't going to help make life better for her. He shouldn't be so judgmental. And I have helped out a few thank you very much.

  • @MissTeenageNothing In the song he says that he saw his mom go through the same thing and she persevered to the best of her ability. He saw her and knew she was better than the effort she was putting forth. I feel where you're coming from, he had no place trying to criticize her without knowing her pain, but I can get what he was saying to say too.

  • @jorayx For sure. I agree with your comment. I get what he's saying- he wants her to push forth, and have a better existence. But words don't travel far-action does. Yet is he gonna take action to help her onto her feet? Is he gonna point her in the right direction? Take her in until she is able to fend for herself? Most likely not.

  • @MissTeenageNothing why should he? there are several choices. im a single mom of 3 and i work hard to provide my kids - i completed my education for them to have a better life - and that is college education - their dad passed away and im always making sure not to depend on anyone cuz these are MY children and MY responsibility. it CAN be difficult, but its not impossible unless you make it so

  • @CTra1983 And that's great for you. life isn't pleasant for everyone. There are some people who will fail regardless of what they try -t trying hard will make results isn't true for everyone. This song doesn't provide information enough for this guy to judge her; she was abused by her father, ran away at a young age, could have been raped, and will have a hard time getting welfare or aid. The system doesn't work for everybody. So instead of sticking up one's nose, we should be understanding.

  • @MissTeenageNothing my ma never turned to prostitution and she had no education and three kids. she found a way. there's always a way.

  • @tangentgenius If you choose to look at life through that golden lens, go ahead.

  • Good music

  • this song brings back my childhood :) I remember listening to it when I was really little and not totally understanding what it was saying. lol xD

  • Cryin' all alone on the stoop. *

  • hahahaha i remember singing this song in front of my mom and not knowing what it meant...

  • i dont know who the girl singer is but she has an awesome voice. freakin beast :p

  • it was cool then the secong verse killed it FUCK THIS SONG

  • God, this song is awful. I used to like it as a good.

  • "hold up"

    rip nate dogg. <3

  • Aw man i miss this song so much me and my best friend use to play this all the time in the car when we was lil

  • How tragic.

  • <3

  • This song actually had a moral to the song, girls rather listen to songs that degrade them by calling them hoes, bxtches, sluts, saying that money sex drugs everything material is more valuable than woman. Did the music industry forget who their audience is who listens to them? Majority of the time its the younger generation buying their cd, every track on the album is another degrading dehumanizing song where the lyrics are nothing more than a script that should be censored to our kids.

  • @thewrittenfaceTV sing it sister / brother and im 13 and i belev that ther is a moral to evrey song

  • @thewrittenfaceTV don't make righteous bullshit arguments just to sound righteous

  • @gobberpooper First of all who made an argument? Obviously your not righteous, Its not about sounding like anything, (Laughing to Myself) Some people just have no life, and you SOUND LIKE you are one of them. Just had to say something right?

  • music like this needs to come by more often i mean its 2011 and i still listen to this song along with everyone else :)

  • i used to listen to this song when i was like 6 and im 17 now, i still no all the words :D i love this song, really talks about life. some people really have to deal with this shit.

  • Why do people keep calling this song rap? They are clearly singing.

  • how did 26 people actually dislike this tune!! Load up that pipe with ganja instead of crack you nuttas!!!

  • never heard this song before but its sad true and nice

  • I honestly think this song was made as a joke. I laugh every time. Reminds me of my friends not the lyrics

  • @Jjhurley2015 hahaha, I'm the exact same way.

  • I love this song, but its so sad how true it is!

  • we remember this song when we were a child....the lyrics " before i was a teenager i done been through shit that you cant even relate to" is vary true for us.

we wish rap and Hip hop were still like this but somewhere between the 80's and now shits gotten messed up with alot of music

  • Man, I remember this song from when I was kid. I still remember the lyrics years later.

  • @jerseyshoreromantics haha i remember all the words still but when it first came out i didnt knwo what they all meant hahaha

  • This song really hits home, being a single mom with a deadbeat dad sucks. But there is nothing I wouldn't do for my babygirl, and I sure as hell am never going to let her suffer as I did.

  • Sad......but u do have a choice!!!

  • @desigirl84 There's not always a choice.

  • Why can't rappers of today make songs like this anymore? Songs that people can relate to besides blabbin about what kind of fancy cars they drive are singing about what kind of women they sleep wth and how many gold teef are n dey mouth. What the hell happened to hi hop? All w listen to today are gay dance songs. The only rapper I can actually listen to and enjoy now is EMINEM since he seems to be the only rapper that sings about issues. And COMMON.

  • @DemiLovatoVids lupe fiasco to

  • Comment removed

  • @DemiLovatoVids like Nas said hip-hop is dead. an there are plenty of people who talk about issues other than em. theres lupe, cudi, kanye, game, drake, nas, i cant think of more right now cuz im tired as fuck an spent the day at a funeral home. but yea hip hop with meaning is hard to find now

  • @DemiLovatoVids Lil Boosie is one of the better big name rappers that is good but you need to start listining to mixtapes they're far better that and other rappers that dont have big name yet they're far more original and relatible

  • @DemiLovatoVids city high is rappers? lol and this isn't even an old enough song to compare it to rap today and say this is from back when

  • @Proubian This is a rap song yes, and just because it's not from back then doesn't mean it's not like the older rape songs.

  • @Catfisher951 rape songs lol

  • @DemiLovatoVids PREACH MY FRIEND

  • @DemiLovatoVids I LOVE YOU FOR SAYING THIS O.o (no homo)

  • @DemiLovatoVids welcome to mainstream media!!!

  • @DemiLovatoVids Try listening to Shad or K'naan.

  • @DemiLovatoVids lupe? j cole? immortal technique? blu? killer mike? outkast?

  • @DemiLovatoVids I soooo agree with you:) Eminem is the only current rapper that I actually repsect. The rest are just completely brainless...they have no actual talent. Rap used to be so good in the 90s and up until the early to mid 2000s...I always wonder what the hell happened.

  • @DemiLovatoVids Daaam Foreeaallly Thoee Smh , , , ,

  • @DemiLovatoVids Money. mOney. Cash, booty, party. -OR- What would you do if your son was at home crying alone...?

Tell me. Which is easier to listen to? Exactly.

  • @robertekew music is an art form. art is made to evoke an emotional response whether it be positive or negative. now out of the two examples you gave which one evokes a stronger emotional response, which one makes you sit back and think? which one provides social commentary, something for you to sit back and think about and come to a conclusion on?

i don't dislike dance music, i enjoy songs that make me want to get up and move, but i would love to hear more songs that makes me sit back and think

  • @DemiLovatoVids Get yourself into the Underground... Rhymesayers on Youtube is a great start. Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Common Market, Dead Celebrity Status/Project Wyze, Tech N9ne. The list goes on. You'll be amazed at what you find... it's just the radio shit that sucks.

  • @DemiLovatoVids

    ummmmmmmm, Cudi?

  • this song is so sad

  • ive never forgotten these words. lmao.

  • the guy show sings this song was on the show intervention. But who gives a fuck, this i an amazing song !

  • every time i hear this song it makes me what to cry. It makes me think of my mom because she's been through all of this. She's raised three kids on her own and had to do it in ways that made her hate herself. I never understood what she's been through as a kid. I'm 17 now and i am so happy she loved me and my siblings so much that she would do ANYTHING for us.

  • This song is so real..So many people just do not understand how desperate a person can become and what has to be done when there are NO other avenues avaiable and no one else to help..this song is SO TRUE...

  • l swear they should just put this back in the charts, such good song , lyrics engaging enough you think about it after its over.

  • It's weird, but I used to listen to this as a child, not really paying attention to the lyrics. This is is the first time I've heard it in years. Just wow.

  • absolutely love this son g<3

  • What would YOU do?

  • ha i love this song so much ♥

  • this song is so classic

  • i fucking love this song <3 its awesome <3

  • lol this song is so freakin bad....i don't miss it being on the radio one bit.

  • @cmauffray1 You sound stupid~ why you say that

  • In a world where Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga, and Ke$ha are the shit... i wish some people would cover this song like for real.

Oh and can you say one hit wonder? lol

  • this song is for my chick priscilllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • are these lyrics in Ebonics?

  • Can't get this song outta my head.

  • @aprilblue2007 its rock

  • @aprilblue2007 no its not its rock wow!!!!!!

  • kinda sad song but this the united states this crap happens everywhere

  • This is the original shit.

  • this is why welfare and stuff is so important to keep shit like this from happening but people think that others who are on welfare dont really need it but its a way to keep people from prosituting themselves as well if it gave out enough money

  • remember when this song came out in like 2002 or somethin great song never gets old

  • good song, decent video, but a suggestion, maybe don't overlay the next lyrics on the current ones? on some of the faster parts it gets a little hard to read

  • ohkk, well itts hard as shit to get a job, if she aint got a diploma she most likely can't get a job. so if thats the only way she can feed her child, then thats what shes gonna have to do it. if you had a kid you would do anything to take good healthy care of him/her.
