I love Jeter, but must say he is an asshole. My mother is friends with one of the trainers or something for the Angels, and when the Yankees were in town he showed a picture of my older sister to the players saying that she was a huge Yankees fan and would appreciate any signatures. He showed it to Jeter and he sayed that his auto wouldnt be worth anything if he signed for every pretty girl he saw. His auto is already worth $500+, so who gives a fuck if the value goes down a tad

I was at the 2003 NBA finals in Jersey. Spurs/Nets.. Tim Duncan came out early before the shootaround and signed for some kids. I saw this first hand as soon as the adults spotted him signing they mobbed him and damn near trampled 10 year old kids.. I'm talkiing 35 year old men here.. It was beyond pathetic.. My point being you have to honor the requests of kids but you can't please everyone. Jeter signed his ball which was the right thing to do..

He did the right thing by signing for the kid. Sports figures and entertainers are so influential on young minds. He's obviously busy, jaded and tired of the signing thing - there will probably always be more demand for his autograph than there are autographs in existence - but he still did it for the kid.
On a personal level, I disrespect him for all his shoddy endorsement deals. "I have a price!" should be tattooed on his forehead. He doesn't make enough with his day job?
