You can preach about how this isn't really Samba, and I'd halfheartedly agree. However, this is not an American creation. Ballroom Samba is of European design - a dance specifically created to LOOK good and have precise, difficult technique to judge. It's not to sell anything, it's so judges can analyze it.
This dance is not samba, before making a big presentation must study the rhythm with a professional preferably in the country of origin of the dance, not to be passed to the public an image of something that is not true that tested is a dance that is not like SAMBA!

I can't help but notice that Ryan has just a bit too much muscle definition. Gorgeous muscle definition, but his upper body looks hunched much of the time in this style of dance. Perhaps not too much muscle, but he needs to adjust his posture to make up for the fact that his wonderful, wonderful lats and traps are destroying his fluidity.
