  • It's official TalkTalk is the UK's worst broadband provider, in OFCOM’s latest customer service poll...

I have had the most horrendous time with these cowboys...

    Thanks for the tip off.

  • Beautiful!

  • @cenn2008 Unchanged Melody - Righteous Brothers

  • ...A lovely advert showing how we all love hearing from the special people in our lives...

  • Thats actually my house...

  • @ojxl hahaha how come they used your house mate?

  • This is a lovely advert, beautiful and moving :-)

  • I dont care how much talk talk sucks - I love this ad.

  • so what your are telling me about all the homes within homes is that now Talk Talk has broadband for your dolls house?

Sorry but this is probably the worst talk talk advert ever, why the retro 1950's america feel about it? where's the fallout shelter with its broadband and phone?

  • I was too busy whatching the woman walking out the room, that I never saw the words come up on to the screen.

Infact I still wouldn't have noticed, if it wasn't for someone menshening it in these coments.

  • From a lot of the comments here, it would seem the fact that this is a brand exercise has escaped notice... branding is about 'perception', it's about what people think, not reality. And if it gets people thinking nice, warm things then that is what will be associated with the brand (however poor the customer service really is). That's why Coke is the brand leader, despite Pepsi consistently beating it in taste-test!

  • It might be because I live abroad and dont know who talktalk are but I love this ad. The music works really well and the expressions on their faces are lovely. I agree their tagline is pretty weak though. For me this ad is all about being far away from people you love and making that distance feel shorter. In fact I think i'll go pick up the phone :)

  • talk Talk are the most complained company in the telecom industry. Info from offcom

  • As a Talk talk customer I remain very happy with all there services including after sales service and advice I don't feel that adverts like this do ANYTHING for me to be interested in a bad service with a good advert much rather have no advert and a good service. Make cash sense to me. I wonder what percentage of our bill money is wasted on such nonsensical and I feel unnecessary adverts. Call me a stick in the mud

  • I quite enjoy animated ads - especially the cute ones - I thought it was just the right mix of cuteness & seriousness to convey a message. Maybe the talktalk logo should be more prominent at the beginning. Liked the music too!

  • I got the bit about broadband but the opening land line telephone was too quick and didn't identify with talk talk. I'd have to watch the ad several times to get what the animated people are doing etc. but the Righteous Brothers record is so strong it really adds to the advert. The ad seems to be aimed at a winter period eg subtle lighting in the house when we are just coming up to our summer. From that respect it gives a warm feeling of warm house in winter.

  • I hate all these animated model ads - like those horrible bank ads with the long nose family. Creepy. Hate them. TalkTalk would do better if they spent their money actually living up to their claims of free, fast broadband. They are still charging me £15 for a slow service.

  • Just seen this advert for the first time and think it makes a great change from the normal, predictable adverts. As for people saying it doesn't reflect anything to do with the company I would suggest they look at ads from the likes of BT, plus net and Virgin Media. Yes TalkTalk have had lots of complaints, however they also have more happy customers than unhappy ones and are business and as such will advertise to attract more customers. I say well done for trying a different approach with this

  • What's pathetic is the constant moaning about TalkTalk. You cannot get better value from anyone in the UK, particularly BT, who really are a waste of space. I'm speaking as an ex-BT customer who still gets BT mailshots which will never get me back to them. TalkTalk get me 16MB broadband speed and free calls ANYTIME for under £30/month including line rental.

The advert will have BT shaking in their boots!

  • Pathetic , a waste of my time watching and your money creating , better to reduce costs and pass on savings to us your customers . What message were you trying to put across ? If I wasnt with Talk talk already it would make sure I never was

  • It was fun the first time I saw it but I just know I'm going to keep seeing it and I'll hate it soon.

  • I suppose the ad is about voip. I am not aware of voip services supplied directly by TalkTalk and I don't think that computer learners are, on the whole, even aware of things like Skype.

  • garbage of the first order. just proves that those responsible for advertising are on another planet...........

  • Love the animation linking with real people. Really gives the message that keeping in touch means so much to many lonely people. The best advert from Talktalk ever, it tells a story. No it is not like BT. Yes I would like to Talktalk to bring Customer Service back to Uk and have a polite responsive and up to date service staff to go with this advert.

  • The animations are well executed and the music is pleasant. However I would like to see the money spent being invested in a Customer Services team who are easier to understand and talk to.

  • WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME ! I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT WAS ALL ABOUT !

WHY NOT SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY ON BRINGING YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAMS BACK TO THE UK? AT LEAST THEN WE COULD COMMUNICATE ON A LEVEL PLAYING FIELD.

  • This is a powerful, intelligent and clever ad but the tag line is weak and wrong - it should be something like : 'feel the freedom'.

  • totally reeks of BT, trying to copy the hole adam n jane thing, and doesnt reflect anything of talktalk. don't like this advert at all, and the survey is biased, says to click as many or as few words which i feel describe what i saw, well none of them did, but I had to pick at least 1, well thats not as few as i want, i wanted to select none, but it wouldn't let me.

  • nice ad ,different and quite watchable ,..but as said previously wil not encourage new customers.

  • I love this advert! Very original and too cute. You just want the little Eskimo to have a phone connection in his igloo! Brilliant choice of music, too. One of Talk Talk's best adverts to date!

  • I thought it was a commercial for Skype.

  • Really good advert, very imaginative and a breath of fresh air. I haven't had any customer service problems - everybody has been very helpful.Thanks.

  • As lovely as this ad is it does not distract from the reputation you have for appalling customer service, complaints about service, billing and mis selling.

TalkTalk will be receiving no accolades this year and perhaps the money would have been better spent on training customer service teams or reigning in an over zealous sales and marketing team.

  • Sorry but this does nothing toward selling the values of TalkTalk

  • What a load of crap, how about spending the money on fixing the phone lines, and giving the co

stomers the internet speed they promised.

  • This looks like a media project rather than a company information commercial.

  • I agree this is trying too hard to be clever and misses the mark.

Cost and service levels are key to your repeat business.

  • I somehow can't quite grasp the purpose of this ... it certainly doesn't reflect what you intended it to in my mind. I think you are forgetting something ... your customers expect a better service than you are currently providing. Instead of investing thousands of pounds in pathetic TV adverts like these you should be investing in your customers expectations and providing a faster andf more reliable service, one that is based in the UK and manned by people we can understand.

  • I agree with what paulhic1 said.

  • Hate the song, and can see that after the third time of watching it will be stultifing,,,,,bring back Neon Rainbow! ......nevertheless have always been happy with Talktalk

    Maggie28

  • Really enjoyed this ad brill.

  • The survey needs work, folks. There are no word choices of a negative value, it's all upbeat stuff. The ad does NOT sell anything, it's patronisingly bland rubbish, and frankly tries too hard to be clever, coming off so far this side of insulting as to be ludicrous.

If you want to make an infomercial, do so.

If you want to be arty-farty, be so.

Just don't try to be clever, because you're missing the target by miles, and in doing so, you hack off the audience, and your existing customers.

  • Nice advert one of the best I have seen for ages and I hate adverts

  • This advert really gets to the heart of people without blairing its way into the peace of your home so this is one advert that noone will either turn off or hit the mute button at last someone produces an advert that the normal home loving person can relate to

  • DrossDross from TalkTalk.

This would not make me want to sign up to TT.

As for the song three bars in and I want to switch off.

  • Terrible song choice. and why - when TalkTalk has so many good features - are you creating an advert about the power of 'talking'. Didn't Maureen (can't remember her name) do that in a BT advert 15 years ago. Sorry.. just can't see you winning customers on the basis of an advert that shows you can Talk with TalkTalk. Why didn't you promote internet security, free European calls, cheap prices.. hey ho.

  • The advert is innovative and yet completely boring at the same time. Good song though.

  • A complete waste of everyones time watching that advert. You have taken other peoples ideas and turned them into an imagination void

  • Thanks, cheered me up after a busy day at work, felt like relaxing with a drink, maybe it was the music , but the characters were good

  • Shame the advert was for talktalk and not for O2 or BT. I love the advert, but not the right company. talktalk needs to improve there support before making new adverts.

  • @darren670501 Righteous Brothers? You sure? I found the advert quite ghastly. Talk Talk support have been awesome for me though. Total opposite view here, sorry.

  • @UTMrBozack I had loads of problems with talktalk, I had my internet and phone cut off over 7 times in one month and left with out these services for a minimum of 3 days. They refuse to compensate me for all the down time, so I moved even within my contract. I have taken them to court now.

Talktalk also tags your phone lines so it makes it harder for you to move away from them, it took me 4 months to get this tag removed. Tagging of phone lines are illegal, so how are they getting away with it.

  • Very touching advertisement, just completed the survey!

  • I have no cuckoo clock, snow globe or train set.

Thanks for stealing a minute from my life with this drivel
