Both Peter Jackson and Guillermo del Toro agreed that Maleficent is the best dragon ever and is likely Smaug in The Hobbit will have a similar design. Though personally I would've preferred the more aerodinamically designed dragons from Skyrim.

When Maleficent screams when the sword goes in her it sounds like the evil queen in snow white falling off the cliff!

It's so amazing how powerful a character she is. Marc Davis certainly picked a very good color scheme for her as well! The black and the purple really go well together, but if you look at the original designs for Maleficent, her robes were red and black, which is actually very similar to Dracula's cloak, who is also a very powerful looking character.

Maleficient just has such a presence; she's epic. In her scenes, I always think "nobody move. An epic disney villain has entered the room."
