@maurelelele Y'know Jeff never labeled them as "Death Metal". He said something along the lines of "If they're (referring to other extreme bands of the time) death metal, then we're not". That was around the Necroticism era.

They really wanted to separate themselves from other bands it seems. Looking back at it though, they had too many similarities to death metal to not be labeled as that.

@maurelelele Yeah, there was an interview on here where he was saying that. I think it was from the original headbangers ball, it was Jeff and Mike being interviewed. You couldn't hear them half of the time though because the guy interviewing them didn't know how to work the mic (he kept holding it up to his own face after he asked them a question haha).

Yeah, now a lot of bands of Goregrind are using Pitch Shifter in the vocals. But Carcass was the first.

Also carcass's "sloppy" kind of style on this album is what made it so great. All the other bands have drummers that sound like machines, it's just way to boring for me.

Thank you! I was really inspired to do some kind of tribute when I heard news of the reunion. I liked the older Carcass more because they had such an individual, grotesque sound. One of the only bands i've seen having a bad production to their benefit.

I've never really been much of a horror/splatter movie fan. But I love their lyrics, they have the humor. And the gore, with completly opposite meanings behind it.
