  • Do you know why they have retired those train express? Is there any good reason? I wished I was born in Japan instead of Spain cause I love Japan too much.

Ah, yes, I heard from someone that the is a express called "The North Star" is that a real train? Or is invented?

    Arigato gozaimasu

  • Those trains were very popular and were nicknamed "Moving hotel".

Many blue trains used to depart from and arrive at Tokyo.

But with the passage of the times, the bullet train and airplanes had taken passengers away.

And cars of the blue train are over 35 years old.

The tokaido line that the train runs on is one of trunk lines in Japan, so the train had to come through the rush hour in morning.

Therefore it was troublesome to make the timetable.

  • "The North Star" means the stanslated word of the sleeper train "Hokutosei" (Ueno-Sapporo), right?

Hokutosei goes to northern Hokkaido island from Ueno terminal,Tokyo.

This is also blue train. But its popularity isn't waning as ever, and the train doesn't have the plan of abolish so far.

    Thank you.

  • Domo for the information. Actually I know "The North Star" from one of my favorites animes :P Detective Conan. I wish that when I go to Japan, this train is still alive.

    Arigato again!
