  • this sound a lot like CROSSROADS.....nevertheless.....what an AMAZING solo!!!!!!

  • @EDDERGC Well it is based around same chords, same key. Probably why he's using a capo at 3rd fret for to make it a bit different. Still great!

  • ok he just took over period joe your the best to me

  • I'll be at his concert later this evening here in San Antonio, TX! I can't wait!!

  • i love him his voice is perfect talent

  • Jools is a piano grandmaster!

  • No, jukeboxhero, you're not the only one who recognized the Crossroads riff -- but you have to remember, this was a 3-and-a-half-minute TV rendition, without his normal bandmates. Borrow somebody's copy of "Live at Royal Albert Hall" -- or better still, go see him in person, while he's still playing small venues and you can get up close. This guy is the next Stevie Ray Vaughan, no doubt about it. I hope this doesn't sound like fan slobber -- hear him in person and I'll bet you'll agree.

  • @doctorjoee No he is the next BLUESHAMMER, like those guys in the movie "Ghost World"

  • Sounds like he's got a little more gain on than usual...sounds great for that song !

  • saw him live, fucking amazing

  • the drummer kicks ass:)hahaha....2:42-2:50

  • @MrWarensemble watching joe bonamassa play guitar, and commenting on the drummer is like having sex and then saying "wow i like these sheets"

  • @papercutonmybrain everyone knows bonamassa plays the guitar like a god.And thats why I watch these vids with him,but when a drummer in the background have spasm when he plays i think thats worth a comment...........but what do i know,,,,maybe its something wrong with me!!!!!

  • @MrWarensemble I watch these videos for Joe as well, but, like you,. I too noticed the drummer. I found your original comment hilarious!

  • @XYXJoeyXYX Thanks for the support my friend:)hehe

  • ONE MORE TIME !

  • Joe B live is an out of this world experience, you got to see it to believe it !

  • Like Joe says. If you think your guitar playing is original your lying to yourself. Everybody is influenced by other guitar players.

  • he's awesome!!

  • Damnnnnn Jools hitting it up with that piano. And Bonamassa, as usually lighting the fretboard on fire :P

  • crossroad blues?

  • Straight to the top!

  • the drummer is BADASS look @ him that old dude rocks.....

  • I think this song was sort of INTENDED to be (for lack of a better term) a cousin of sorts to Crossroads. ...and yea, the drummer looks like he should be hosting Masterpiece Theater lol

  • look at drummer hahahahahah

    insane! :D

  • Blow me down! I have been a blues fan all my life and as a black man I must say that Joe Bonamassa has done what few contemporary black musicians can do with blues music. I mean no offence to white folks but could I call him an honourary Brotha?

  • @robeesanda pretty offensive TBH

  • @honkyxadonis How is that offensive for christ sake, get a life.

  • @honkyxadonis black ppl and white ppl are not different they are the same except for skin colour, get with the times, its not 1930 anymore

  • @honkyxadonis lolz

  • Jools is a great keyboard player. But for the life of me I can't hardly understand a word he says. It's like he has a mouthful of rocks!

  • Sounds crystal clear to me, perfect pronunciation.

  • in fact its Joe who is hard to understand, not that that matters LOL

  • wata man..:D

  • I Love Joe Bonamassa he is right up there with the greats in my opinion, but i can't be the only one thats realised this is pretty much the crossroads riff!

  • as soon as he started playing i thought to my self that sounds a lot like crossroads

  • yeah it is similar. He changes it just enough to make it a bit funkier i suppose. He is the man in my opinion!!

  • @juxeboxhero hahaha the cross roads riff pattern is actually used quite a bit. Slash used it for the bad ass song that is known today as Nightrain! unbelievable genius by Eric Clapton!

  • @epicalice Don't you mean unbelievable genius Robert Johnson??

  • @anaturaladdiction well robert johnson's version sounded nothing like claptons riff.

it was very much the same chords and stuff yet, big difference.

ps, yes, so many people don't realize it's a robert johnson song. such a shame.

  • @juxeboxhero yea it might be a salute to clapton type thing

  • Joe is the man

  • stai nguaiat

  • joe is good, the best probably, but that pianist... not bad either

  • @bartjuhhf what u mean jools holland the man who the show is named after

  • yes, very good.

I don't know the guy... does he always do that? play with other musicians?

  • yes there has never been 1 show where he hasn't played with someone else

  • yeah its his show its half the reason the guys go on there

    to jam with him

  • idk if anyone will believe me but here it goes! my wireless connection sucks so as i was waiting for this vid to load i turned on the tv and...i swear the exact same song was playing on the ovation channel!! 8:27pm eastern time. btw joe is awesome.

  • seems like a genuine kind soul...

  • Joe is one of the best. A really nice guy!

  • DAMN he's got some tasty licks.

  • o men you have no idea

  • Awesome. How can one person be so creative? :)

  • love the solo`s...bb king on speed, true blues rock crossover

  • Incredible song from the modern day Clapton, unbelievable perfect solos. By the way, I think the "devil salutes" are just him waving but holding a plectrum in his thumb and fingers.

  • I do the same when I point with my right hand during a song. It looks like I'm giving the finger when I'm just holding my pick.

  • what is it with these devil salutes all the time (3.29) ?

  • I love Joe Bonamassa : ) Look at his fingers, totally magic. Love that solo with the sax playing at the same time.

But, excuse me. what was that? 3:29 loool (Joe does a |m| ) after playing a blues song lol.

  • gr8 to see him having recognition

  • sounds a bit like eric clapton

  • rocking song

  • Awesome sound!

  • Gilson Lavis, he's the drummer for Jools Holland's orchestra.

  • Who's the drummer?

  • That chick at 1:41 is HOTTTTTT!!! Oh, yeah, this Joe guy is pretty good, too. :)

  • inspired bit of camerwork that.

  • It tooks me 4 or 5 times to get into this tune. fucking awesome!

  • Brilliant, just brilliant.

  • this is a bloody amazing performance...

  • Yes, yes it is. Amen.

  • That drummer is Badass!!!

  • This is Joe's Ninth Album and he's still getting stronger and stronger!!!!

    JOE THE BEST!!!

  • Gary moore when I 16. vai albert lee leslie west john syks ect ect ,I have seen nearly every body I have really wanted. and im going to see joe in about a week hes going to have to work hard to get close to satrani and Gilberts show last year, but I think he can do it .if I can just get Tommy Emanuel under my belt I think I could die smiling . yes im a lucky boy .thouse who love it know what im talking about .

  • I've been into Joe's stompin' beat for a couple of years now. He seems to have just burst onto the big stage over the last few months... appearance on Later with Jools, front page of most of the guitar magazines and a show at the Royal Albert Hall. Legend.

  • yeah me too I had no idea he was going to be on 'Later' until Jools announced him, was a nice surprise and break from the obligotary dreary indy/britpop band he always seems to need to have on every week

  • alright joe is the best. opening for BB at 12 and recommended by Clapton

  • Nice stuff. :D

  • Amen, VFM. Joe, if you see this, any chance of another gig at the RAH? We couldn't get tix!! Love the PR show too, BTW.

  • Fantastic guy, fantastic song etc etc but that's all we got except for a milliesecond of chat... what a rip-off, I stayed up well past midnight for a second song but nada. All the dross that was on the show did at least two toons FCS. No justice! Thank god for Paul Jones' BBC Blues Show who was on to Joe yonks ago and has had him in several times. And LWJH is just about the only proper (?) live rock (?) show on British TV so we are unlikely to see JB or his ilk any time soon again. Bah!

  • JUST BRILLIANT !!
