  • The visual at 1:31 is freakin awesome!!

  • 1:27........ OMG I JUST CAME

  • God Dam! Listen to those singles from the tenors at 1:52. I just jizzed....

  • @blinkdrummer100 disgusting in a bad way?

  • 1:20 quad break...ine word.....perfect

  • omg my drum coach jorge zuniga is in the snare line...why a blue devil stayed back to coach a highschool drumline idk but we kick ass

  • their bass line kicks sooo much butt.

  • these freak me out with how good they are. 2006 was an amazing year for Blue Devils.

  • this is the ultimate drumline. They had Casey Brohard on snare, and Tim jackson on their tenors. Holy crap.

  • ♥♥love it♥♥

  • that was...... beautiful

  • what place did the drumline get this particular year?

  • sticks in at :35. mmmmm

  • wow that sticks in at 35: is fucking sick ass good

  • yeah tim toms.. 1:30

  • Damm!!! the Tenors look the same all the way through and 1:54 through 1:56 is insane!!! Clean, should have got drums that year

  • lol I love the bass intro on the vid, so clean =b

  • '06 was definitely BD at their best... sucks they didn't take drums that year.

  • In Berlin/Germany you say "Coole Scheiße!!!"

  • 1:54 is hella sick good job quads

  • YEAH BASS[bay-c] hahah

  • 1:31 .. sixtuplet roll?.. sounded really fast ahhahaha

  • That lick is two paradiddlediddles in a row, sextuplet based. Tempo was 192 if I recall correctly.

  • why thank you :D

  • Yeah, no problem bud. It sounds ridiculously fast because of the voicing. Well, it is fast but the voicing makes it sound faster!

  • suck a nut PR!

  • lol. BD killed in in percussion that year. 2006 was amazing for them...

  • good job at 1:27 guys your fucking insane best quad line that year period fuck it

  • Easily the best BD line of the 2000's, in my honest opinion.

  • yeah tenor music would be great

  • Anyone have tenor music? : )

  • thats the definition of beef***

  • anyone know the drums for the insane singles at 1:54? i gotta learn that.... thats the definitely of beef

  • Too bad they didn't even win percussion that year.

  • lol at people who try to minimize anything good BD does or has.

  • I am not even trying to minimize. I just wanted to point out that they should have won that year. I am a huge BD fan.

  • It doesn't get any cleaner than BD tenor line.

  • Comment removed

  • 1:34 is refucking dicoulus

  • back when bd was clean...fuego

  • that tenor line makes me wanna cry

  • sweet quad line

  • ok now at 1:54 is fucking nuts WOW

  • the split tenor part at the beginning of their feature (at 42 seconds) and then their sweeps starting at 1:54 are soo intense and sick!!

  • the bds are so clean. But the funkiest drumline ive seen is Black Fire.

  • hot ass visual at 1:30 lol our instructor had that in our show for us *quads that is* let's just say our director didnt like it lol

  • what exactly does that visual mean?

  • the "V" over the mouth we couldve easily put it in but we didnt wanna see our directors reaction cuz he already didnt like it in our cadence

  • Vagina.

  • lmao!

  • rofl everybody knows what that visual is...

  • Yeah no doubt this was one of BDs best lines.

God damn, F***ing Tenors rock man! Tim Jackson's last lot, they HAD to be on fire!

  • Tim's and 2 others (sorry don't know your names) age out.

  • Yeah Tim Jackson and the other one is Will.

  • i heard a little ditty around 1:40 am i wrong ???

  • not necessarily wrong just not correct. It just sounds like the intro to Ditty (but it really isn't).

  • Gah, one of my most favorite parts of the show. BD '06 had some of the sickest book I've ever heard.

  • too bad Phantom whooped em

  • Haha, I'm a "phan" myself. Phantom totally rocked that year. And 2007... Oh well, too bad BD whooped them. What's your problem dude?

  • my problem is im talking about 2006 not 2007...whats ur problem dude?? besides bd's line sucked in 2007 compared to past years, and phantom, phantom out played bd's line, bd's pit is the reason for high percussion

  • You were the one starting this little dispute. And I'll agree to Phantom's book as well as playing as to being superior, or well appealed more to my tastes than BD's. Have you even heard Phantom's pit this last year? Great effects and music coming out of that.

  • And so now, you're smacking me down for praising BD 06's line?

  • nah dude im not smackin u down at all im just talkin about 06 and not 07

  • =/ Both lines had great books. BD 06 just had a more... superior book that's for sure... Against BD 07, in my tastes.

  • oh yeah superior, lot more difficult

  • Hoo boy. Agreed.

  • Comment removed

  • Well that moving around sure did count towards them winning percussion. Didja listen to that judge tape on the ESPN thing? Lol. And yes, that pit certainly was amazing.

  • What the fuck is with the metronome? How unprofessional

  • You must not be able to keep time very well then......unprofessional? You can't get much more professionel than that! You must be on the junior high school drumline.

  • Your first argument is a non-sequitur. How does me not using a metronome conclude that I can't keep time?

As for your second comment, I'm not in a drumline, or any marching band for that matter. Marching bands ruin the reputation of real music and real musicians. There are plenty of videos on this fabulous site that support my argument, and this is one of them. If these "professionals" were in fact that, they wouldn't need to use a metronome.

  • Well, marching bands don't exactly go out onto the field with the attitude that they're going to put down all other musicians. And what do you mean these players aren't professional? Is it because they don't get paid for what they do? If that's the case, I agree with you. Otherwise, everyone but you would second that these kids are playing at a professional level.

  • the metronome is used for rehersal pruposes due to the fact that they are subdividing extremely complex rhythms they use the met as a sort of reference point so that they can clean the music up. while on the field no metronome is used and all the work they did while using a metronome pays off. its not unprofessional. even someone with perfect pitch should check a tuner everyone once and a while.

  • I though this is a competition?

  • oh ahaha no dude. this is like the warmup before they go march the show. look up the "Godfather Blue Devils" if you want to see the competetion performance.

  • My bad.

  • K,"BrendaChampion" i dnt kno who the fuk u r tryn 2 criticize one of the greatest lines in history!!if u knew nething about marching band or drums or NETHING u wuld kno that NO1 can be more xact than a machine!so if u dnt use a metronome thn ure unprofessional!!theyre the best in the world at keeping time so u shuld bak the hell up nd go suk it!!!talk 2 me when u can find another bass line as clean as theirs,or a snare line with better heigths than theirs!!!

  • k lolzors woteva @ pitchb101.

  • holy jeebus! the tenor drums at 1:28 are crazy!!!!!!!

  • tim jackson looks like a man among boys

  • Whooo Go Basses!!!!

  • ghost sticking rocks in my ass.

  • haha me too i was more impressed with what they didnt play lol! the blue devils are gods!

  • no. theyre human. i do recall tim jackson dropping a stick in at least two of his I&E performances. and if theyre so godly. why oh why did it take them 10 years to win another percussion title? get back to me on that one.

  • i will cus im english and know nothing about these sorts of bands but i do play the drums and every1 makes mistakes, yet they impress me more than any other band ive seen... and i have watched a few btw, im at uni with no kit in my room so all the snare stuff is what i pay more attention to

  • first off. if u were to EVER call these guys a BAND, u would get shot. this is a drum core. Blue devils have the Best drumline ever. Also just won DCI 2007. Also to Mr. Jimmytango, dont rip on someone if u cant do it better your self.

  • i was under the impression that a group of musicians playing together was a band! but yes i know they are also called a drum core, pointless arguments here... i said they were my fave drum core so we agree! lol

  • Phantom Regiment has been owning drums since 06...no one plays as clean as phantom regiment. I have plenty of audio from finals even this year to prove that point. However BD's quads were absolutely amazing 04-06...pretty much untouchable. And by the way its drum corp with a "p" on the end of corp.

  • ive seen core and corp written lol and once again pretty petty and pointless argument, the spelling i mean

  • Well i dont know where you saw "core" but I was just letting you know that its drum corp international. No offense, just letting you know that it is with a "p" and core is incorrect.

  • nah its ok man, i find it hard to get annoyed at people who appreciate gd drumming! lol

  • love the blue devils!

  • I love them too

  • tenors rocked the lot

  • their bass line rocks

  • their tenor line rocks

  • that ghost note part is so fucking awesome

  • if u can u should check out the ghost section they do in the 2004 show, i saw it live at the Rosebowl and it was even sicker than this one.

  • both were pretty tight. This one though was featured BIG time, and it's my favorite part of the show.

  • haha....We used that metric excell/ghost note part in our show this last year.

  • I love the visual at 1:10 and the sound...so awesome

  • lol, the pic that they released of the statue says means that they are going to win championships, search the pic on wikipedia and itll tell you about it.

  • Man. That phuckin' pwns. Blue Devils are insane. xO

  • wait, Harry Potter? That movie sucks, but knowing BD they will make the music insanely awesome

  • the tenors are freaking insane

  • hahaha harry potter should be an interesting concept coming from bd.. but its doable.. :)

  • *sigh... im not really impressed with the blue devil shows these days... their last good year was 2003.. summertrain, dance derby of the century, and godfather..were all eh to me

  • 2004 and 06 I liked, but yeah, I didn't like Dance Derby... not at all. I've heard from Colby (4th tenor on right of screen) that this years show is (ur not gonna believe me) Harry Potter.... honestly I'm having a hard time believing that... but I'd like to see how BD is gonna pull that one of.

  • whoa how did that come about? did he talk to you tell you anything else? that would explain why they havent released the show yet, i wouldnt want to deal with that kind of PR

  • He also told me that the tenor book is four times harder... yikes!

  • oh man I cant wait! thanks!

  • harder than this book and with three of the dudes ageing out! really??

  • the show is a revisit of blue devils past shows.

  • and to be honest I still don't believe him, but it would be awesome

  • haha are u serious eh? IDK about that one cause I talked to him on AIM a couple of times myself and he keeps telling me its a complete secret.

  • awesome visual at 1:32!!!

  • Scojo is snappng like we could really hear him, lol :P

  • at around 1:38, was it raining there or were the guy right of Tim's sticks on fire? Something gray came up from his 1 drum, I swear!

  • not quite sure but it could be the water in the street, i think theres a car passing by right then

  • tim jackson is really good and he is a cool guy I met him at pasic 2 years ago and casey brohard

  • that tenor book is sick as balls

  • bass drums overlapping notes on runs. Not clean open flowing notes.

  • some of the runs are written like that, start and stop

  • Two of those tenors were at the Pacific Crest workshop today... Kendall (right of Tim Jackson) and Willy (left of)

both are pretty cool. Kendell was teaching some of us tenors...

sweet. now I can say a blue devils has played ont my drums :)

  • 'scuse me *ahem* right of tim jackson in the point of view of the video.

    Kendall >

    Willie <

  • AIR SNARES!!!! ScoJo looks like a big tim allen, its awesome. Some good stuff
