my problem is im talking about 2006 not 2007...whats ur problem dude?? besides bd's line sucked in 2007 compared to past years, and phantom, phantom out played bd's line, bd's pit is the reason for high percussion
You were the one starting this little dispute. And I'll agree to Phantom's book as well as playing as to being superior, or well appealed more to my tastes than BD's. Have you even heard Phantom's pit this last year? Great effects and music coming out of that.
Well that moving around sure did count towards them winning percussion. Didja listen to that judge tape on the ESPN thing? Lol. And yes, that pit certainly was amazing.
You must not be able to keep time very well then......unprofessional? You can't get much more professionel than that! You must be on the junior high school drumline.
Your first argument is a non-sequitur. How does me not using a metronome conclude that I can't keep time?
As for your second comment, I'm not in a drumline, or any marching band for that matter. Marching bands ruin the reputation of real music and real musicians. There are plenty of videos on this fabulous site that support my argument, and this is one of them. If these "professionals" were in fact that, they wouldn't need to use a metronome.
Well, marching bands don't exactly go out onto the field with the attitude that they're going to put down all other musicians. And what do you mean these players aren't professional? Is it because they don't get paid for what they do? If that's the case, I agree with you. Otherwise, everyone but you would second that these kids are playing at a professional level.
the metronome is used for rehersal pruposes due to the fact that they are subdividing extremely complex rhythms they use the met as a sort of reference point so that they can clean the music up. while on the field no metronome is used and all the work they did while using a metronome pays off. its not unprofessional. even someone with perfect pitch should check a tuner everyone once and a while.
oh ahaha no dude. this is like the warmup before they go march the show. look up the "Godfather Blue Devils" if you want to see the competetion performance.
K,"BrendaChampion" i dnt kno who the fuk u r tryn 2 criticize one of the greatest lines in history!!if u knew nething about marching band or drums or NETHING u wuld kno that NO1 can be more xact than a machine!so if u dnt use a metronome thn ure unprofessional!!theyre the best in the world at keeping time so u shuld bak the hell up nd go suk it!!!talk 2 me when u can find another bass line as clean as theirs,or a snare line with better heigths than theirs!!!
no. theyre human. i do recall tim jackson dropping a stick in at least two of his I&E performances. and if theyre so godly. why oh why did it take them 10 years to win another percussion title? get back to me on that one.
i will cus im english and know nothing about these sorts of bands but i do play the drums and every1 makes mistakes, yet they impress me more than any other band ive seen... and i have watched a few btw, im at uni with no kit in my room so all the snare stuff is what i pay more attention to
first off. if u were to EVER call these guys a BAND, u would get shot. this is a drum core. Blue devils have the Best drumline ever. Also just won DCI 2007. Also to Mr. Jimmytango, dont rip on someone if u cant do it better your self.
i was under the impression that a group of musicians playing together was a band! but yes i know they are also called a drum core, pointless arguments here... i said they were my fave drum core so we agree! lol
Phantom Regiment has been owning drums since 06...no one plays as clean as phantom regiment. I have plenty of audio from finals even this year to prove that point. However BD's quads were absolutely amazing 04-06...pretty much untouchable. And by the way its drum corp with a "p" on the end of corp.
Well i dont know where you saw "core" but I was just letting you know that its drum corp international. No offense, just letting you know that it is with a "p" and core is incorrect.
lol, the pic that they released of the statue says means that they are going to win championships, search the pic on wikipedia and itll tell you about it.
*sigh... im not really impressed with the blue devil shows these days... their last good year was 2003.. summertrain, dance derby of the century, and godfather..were all eh to me
2004 and 06 I liked, but yeah, I didn't like Dance Derby... not at all. I've heard from Colby (4th tenor on right of screen) that this years show is (ur not gonna believe me) Harry Potter.... honestly I'm having a hard time believing that... but I'd like to see how BD is gonna pull that one of.
whoa how did that come about? did he talk to you tell you anything else? that would explain why they havent released the show yet, i wouldnt want to deal with that kind of PR
