  • creo personalmente que esta canción reune todo lo indescriptible, lo natural y especial que te hace sentir el haber conocido de donde venís! gracas Sigur Rós !

  • so unusual

  • wow this song goes perfect with an inspirational speech. Damn

  • Me encanta esta canción y no tengo idea qué es lo que dicen jajajaja

  • Hey Satan

    LOL

  • I want my funeral to simply consist of the folks who care about me listening to this song together in a beautiful place. This song is what life is about.

  • ef þú ert íslendingur... hvað er "höfðum þau halli ró?" eða, hvað er halli?

ég hef verið að hlusta þessu lagi fyrir 3 mánuði, en ég veit ekki hvað halli er...

    takk :)

(sorry, íslenska mín er ekki góð, enn ég hef margt að læra um henni.)

  • @MaskFaceDude Ég er líka bara að læra íslensku, en orðabók mín stendur: "halli: tilt; slope; slant; shortfall; shelving; rake; obliquity; list; inclination; gradient; dip; deficit; declivity; cant; bank; acclivity;

    siglingar heel;

    - sjá líka hallur"

    "Hallur" stendur: "hallur: slanting; inclined;

    standa höllum fæti: be in a weak position;

vera hallur undir eitthvað: take sides with something"

  • @MaskFaceDude

Höfðum þau hallí ró basically means

that they lay there there heads in peace in the hay.

If you have ever laid down in a stack of hay then you understand what he is talking about.

  • Do anybody know what kind of Organ is played by Jonsí?

  • @suburbiajoe @TheLaboratorioNord it's a harmonium (no idea what make)

  • fucking mow

  • The thing is... Where do the violin come from?

  • @StainlessSteelStyle There aren't violin in this song... Sound like violin come from the Organ that Jonsi play

  • @suburbiajoe Ohh, I can hear that now.. O.o First i thought they just put on some studio version on the video, and I was like " busted!" but now i get it... thanks for telling :§)

  • The best thing about icelanders is that they're able to cry in front of the beauty of their country even if thay can see it every day.

  • Best film ever!

can somebody tell me whats the type of the organ that Jonsi is playing????

    thank you

  • just curious, could someone tell me their favourite Sigur Rós song(s)?

  • se parece mucho al sur de Chile hermosa canción

  • Iceland must be de calmest, most beautiful place in the world.

  • i dont really dislike them , but i think there songs are just boring.

i love the sound but somehow it wont come to me.

  • @Bartimaeeus It takes time to get used to it, and really appreciate it.

  • heavenly.

  • es tan increible la musicaa ke proyectan y tambien increible en los paisajes donde tokan tssssss kiciera pertenecer a su banda

  • hey satan?

is this song is so demonic that it became too beautiful to listen to?

  • @EarthCyclop "heysatan" means haystack in Icelandic.

  • @GuitarGuruu True. Although he does mention the devil in the song ;) Well, okay, "kind of". Andskotann literally means "the devil", but it's more often used as a curse word in Icelandic, like the f-word in English. He's talking about slipping and falling.

  • No offense Jónsi, but your hat is looking funny :P

  • I need this DVD...moreover, my soul needs it.

  • @chimeramusic It's well worth the purchase. I bought it and have watched it probably 6 times over. Never gets old :)

  • There is something so definitive and powerful about their simple music that makes it so beautiful.

  • Hey Satan? Still, a very peaceful way of summoning the Prince of Darkness! ;)

  • @SystemJammer Heysatan means haystack in icelandic. its a song about a haystack.. and how although we've all plowed fields in our time, there is still beauty. There is still life! :)

  • @jnieto0103 Yeah, I know ... but English-speaking people from outside Iceland can't help but see the possibility to pun on the word. No disrespect to the song, though ... it's a really nice and harmonious song. ;)

  • hermoso^^ = no tengo idea de lo q dice pero me parese una canto hermoso, musica hermosa, videos hermosos. no tengo palabras

  • @squishy2302 I don't know, but I am erect :)

  • I will go to Iceland one day...

  • <3

  • my fav song in the entire world <3

  • poprostu cudo!!

  • Heysátan / Höfðum þau halli ró / en ég sló / ég sló tún / ég hef slegið fjandans nóg / en ég sló

Heysátan means haystack. come on guys, think a little for once :P

the only mention of devils in this song is when he says 'ég hef slegið fjandans nóg,'or, "I have hit the devils enough" after which he 'hits' the haystack (en ég sló)

  • Personally, I think it's kind of strange when non-religious people preach at christians to be tolerant, while simultaneously telling christians that their faith is ridiculous. I wish you'd all simply listen to this music, which is undoubtedly gorgeous, and stop cluttering up the comments with arguments. Is it that hard to just ignore some idiot who says something stupid because he has nothing better to do with his life?

  • @LittleYellowCrayon Good points.

  • @sockpuppetmartinez I pity you because you have nothing better to do other than starting fights over youtube and you probably feel really witty, and funny, and badass as you get these people all riled up. Im afraid that youll one day do that to someone in person, and then youll get the shit beat out of you. So go ahead, keep on starting little disputes and discrepancies over youtube. immaturity at its finest.

  • Not understanding the lyrics makes you really focus on the music. And then his voice sort of comes to you as an additional instrument. fuggin love this band.

  • beautiful. nothing more to say.

  • Dale el significado que tu quiera o prefieras... lo que tu quieras pensar sobre la cancion. (: por eso es mi musica favorita en el mundo entero !

  • Obviously Sigur Ros fans have no sense of humor or understanding of sarcasm/irony. Ah well; one shouldn't judge a musical act solely by the sheer retardation of its fanbase.

Fyi, in addition to being a vegetarian & gay, Jonsi has also stated in interviews that he IS a Satanist. Put that in your pipe & smoke it, bitches!

  • @sockpuppetmartinez plz dont ruin something so beautiful and free as music with your organized religious propaganda, if you want to feel self-important youtube isn't the place...might I suggest a blog or forum, saw one the other day about "Mindless Christian Lemmings," sounds up your alley.

  • @sockpuppetmartinez o and it's not that we don't have a sense of humor, it's just that you're not funny :)

  • Sigur Ros, Satan, & myself will sodomize your children.

  • @sockpuppetmartinez

LOL, you do know "Heysatan" translates simply to "haystack" don't you. And Jonsi himself plays at so called Christian colleges all around the USA. Quote from him about people using his music for worship (something I don't actually understand but)“That’s kind of a scary responsibility, but also a cool thing. I think any way that my music can inspire people is an amazing opportunity.” and “I’m not a religious person, but I am spiritual,” says the music inspires spirituality

  • Yeah, that's what he SAYS. How many people do you think would buy his records if they knew he was into sacrificing puppies & babies to the Prince of Darkness every full moon?

  • It's not Satanic.... that guys an idiot

  • Jonsi's singing about his undying love for the dark lord Lucifer; dude's all like "Hey Satan!"

  • @sockpuppetmartinez Ehm, im sorry but Satán doesn't means like Satan, its an icelandic word, cant remember what it means, but its not like Satan! the darklord.

  • Lies, all lies. Definitely not Icelandic for "the Haystack", nope, not at all; without question, this song's about the Prince of Darkness. Now go! Sigur Ros & Satan command you to spill of the blood of the innocent.

  • @sockpuppetmartinez WoW chill dude, im just saving Sigur ros is not a satanic band..they just play some nice ethreal rock..

  • HAIL SATAN. HAIL SIGUR ROS.

  • @sockpuppetmartinez Sigur ros is still not a satanic band...

  • @sockpuppetmartinez because Christianity and Islam are synonymous with peace. I suppose the millions they've killed don't count because they aren't innocent (don't believe in the same god).

  • @sockpuppetmartinez SIGH. Dear, have you ever heard of something called ''Icelandic''? Well, its a language, spoken in Iceland. A small country up in the north. And 'Heysátan'' happens to be Icelandic, you know! Heysátan means haystack. I hope you one day, will get out of the isolated friggin hole you obviously live in, since you cant widen your view and realise there is more than you see. - Oh no problem, lesson was for free!

  • Sigur ròs.... Grazie

  • I wish I were imaginative/talented/creative enough to produce something this beautiful...

  • screw the volcanoes....but their music is "SUBLIME"...Jonsi and Sigur ros make me smile every day. They nourish you heart mind and soul :)

  • does somebody knows about teorical music? where'is the fuking tempo?

  • Hahah, human metronome. Sigur Ros is amazing. i really want to visit Iceland.

  • Dude, its Iceland, its the moste northic place on earth humans can live, hell you can see the Northpole from Iceland....somtimes, in the winter, the sun dont even rises.

  • I love sigur ros and all...but are there no sunny days in Iceland? It looks cloudy and cold in all of their videos!

  • Press:

    8,8, 9,9, 3, 3, 4, 4.8

  • @2ndsergeantpavlov is that lost by coldplay?

  • @robertpearson00 I just thought it sounded pretty sweet how all these numbers had a chord in them. Did not totally plan that. Wow.

  • hey satan how irony at its best haha

  • I'm not sure this song is as happy as you all make it out to be...it's a beautiful song, don't get me wrong, but it feels like it's painfully beautiful.

  • Bellisimo!!

  • i traveled all the way from boston out to this particular place 2 days ago, laid in the grass for 4 hours and listened to this song on repeat. i think it might have been the best day of my life.

this song, this band, that particular place on earth, everything felt so centered. everything felt perfect. takk.. to sigur ros, to iceland, to the creator of this place. i believe i found heaven.

  • Heaven will be 100X better man! But that's an awesome story! Where is this place, where and why is this place, and what is it called???

  • @ChamorruWarrior it's called Selardalur, and it's on the West Fjords of Iceland. In between Patreksfjordur and Sudureyri. Kind of off the beaten path, and the road is a bit difficult to travel (you're on the edge of a cliff with no guard rails, and it's unpaved), but it's one of the most beautiful drives.

i have a video on my page with music by Rokkurro, another great Icelandic band, and some of the shots were from the drive to Selardalur.

  • @johnberklee1 I listened to the entirety of "( )" on an airplane once. Nothing like Jonsi's voice when you're looking over clouds.

  • @conorisawsome I know I am :)

  • This video and song reminds me you can make life so beautiful to the point that there's not one trouble in your mind or heart. That I just may be able to create a better, happier life and not have people/things drag me down. If I just TRY and be courageous without any fears or worries....... and listen to sigur ros.

  • Happiest place on earth? 4:20 - 4:27

  • herro satan! *waves*

  • @hasbulnahri

    delicious

  • satanic music!!!

  • @eskorbutin89 why?o_O

  • @siimpatiko hey satan... ?

  • @eskorbutin89 haha :P ofc it's not the real meaning but i thought the same in some ocassion

  • @eskorbutin89 Heysátan means Haystack, so not quite a sinister now! :-P

  • @louieaubergine yes, I already knew, it was just a joke

  • @eskorbutin89 Heysátan = Haystack

  • <3

  • I want this DVD. Right now.

  • How could you ever dislike Sigur Rós. You must have no heart & soul.

  • @BeautyFades22

I have no heart or soul, and i love all Icelandic bands.

  • @hxcpunkoi You must have a little bit. (:

  • @BeautyFades22 what happened was they jizzed their pants while trying to hit the like button and missed

  • @xxhatedgexx Hahahaah.

  • 18 lady gaga's fans

  • @ilviking0 Or Justin Bieber fans

  • @TheMemphisKol that name sucks here.

  • This is how popular music should sound like. This song is so innocent, untouchable and so "down to earth". In a way, Sigur Rós is so welcoming with their music that anyone can listen to them without being judged or being offended. Please don't music like this die!

  • this song lulls me to sleep it is so relaxing and beautiful

  • love this song, mainly cause all my friend think it actually means "Hey Satan". "Heysátan" for clarification means "haystack" and is pronounced as "hey-sau-tan"

  • i really think i enjoy the music more because i cant understand it :)

  • @conorisawsome I was thinking the same thing. I think when you listen to foreign music, you can focus less on the lyrics and more on the beauty of it :)

  • My Sigur Ros CD Takk just arrived from that river-named website...opening it while watching this video!

  • Sigur Ros, The Sugarcubes, Fm Belfast, Gus Gus, Mum, Amiina...do every icelander has his own band?

  • whats good wit it, satan

  • Translation: Stack of hey I leaned on the hay cutter But I mowed I mowed the field I've mowed god damn enough But I mowed Stack of hey It starts to blow away Into the rough I towed, 'heywagon, on a massey ferguson /(*old tractor) But he gave in , and I slipped right in, Oh god damn, I went under And now I'm lying here, With a bent out shade. /(*cap on a baseball hat) And satisfied I rest my head right here. --- Its hard to translate some lines, but this is the best I could do.
  • WOW. i was listening to this and i start tearing up.

    impressive. beautiful music.

  • Would you ever imagine that two dudes are here in Venezuela, all the way in South America, listening to your music? Good job guys! GREAT MUSIC!

PS: Nice Crocs bass player ;)

  • How anyone could dislike this music is beyond me...simply beautiful

  • anyone know what heysátan translates to?

  • @harodirt77

    heysátan means haystack

  • When I hear this song, everything just feels at peace.

  • 5 years since I first heard this song and it still makes me cry when I hear it.

  • SO SO SO SO SO AMAZING!!!!!

  • Cette chanson me fait penser à lui. C'est lui qui me l'a fait découvrir. Maintenant qu'il m'a abandonné, je ne sais plus si j'ai la force de continuer à me battre et vivre.

  • so beautiful

  • there are only a few bands left who stand for what music really is =/ and sigur ros are one of them

  • When extraterrestrial beings land on Earth, I want Sigur Ros to speak on behalf of humanity with its music.

  • Most beautifull parts of this song is the silence.

  • I say we start sending waves of Sigur Ros music out into space, let it travel the universe for ever, and connect us (if they exist) to other life forms.

  • Sigur Ros giving back to Mother Nature, that's how its done.

  • have you ever heard the idea that music speaks to us ,and its the universal communtication. I think that alof of the music we haer today communicates to certain people , in certain mindsets, in certain moods. Sigur Ros is the only group in thousands of artists whom i beleive communicates to all of us . It doesnt matter if were happy or sad on a given day , we hear Sigur Ros and we have some thing in common all of the sudden. We all seem to react the same way when posting here, kinda funny huh?

  • "Heysatan" means "haystack" in icelandic. Just saying... in case anyone thought this song was Satanic

  • youtube should make a "repeat track" button

  • this song puts me in the best, and the worst, moods of all time. i love it more than anything else i've ever heard.

  • i wish they would release this film on blu-ray.

  • I can't favorite this enough. <3

  • what a peaceful melodic song

  • so beautiful.

  • that guitar looks rock. lolz

  • Any country that produces musicians like this should be forgiven all its debts.

  • @odderanswer Does Iceland owe anything in the first place?

  • @odderanswer

Lol, then Germany needs someone like them FAST... :D

  • @odderanswer Good, Iceland needs that right now :P

  • heysatan means haystack...

  • Someday while listening to this i will just float out above the earth. Incredibly marvellous and breathtaking music.

  • When I thought this video had me feeling all kinds of things, that "Ok, this many feelings from the same song and video is astounding, surley there cant be more in this video".

Suddenly I started laughing, because I have a twisted humor, but from one of the camera angles its looks like one of the seal sculptures is doing something... naughty.

Thanks Sigur Rós, even if not intentionally you make my body go through every kind of feeling with this amazing documentary.
