Yes, talking from my own experience. I tried to read the Bible many times before as an unbeliever & it made no sense to me whatsoever. But after I became a believer that the Word of God became alive in me. So, how old is God? In Genesis 1:1, God said "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." So, He already existed even before He created the universe. Einstein discovered space & time continuing, in relation with mass & energy (E=MC-squared). So, do you think the Creator God is inside or rather outside His Creation when He created it? That's why when Moses asked what was His name, He replied "I AM WHO I AM." It implied He exists outside space & time, a realm we call eternity.

Yes, talking from my own experience. I tried to read the Bible many times before as an unbeliever & it made no sense to me whatsoever. But after I became a believer that the Word of God became alive in me. When you're born again in Christ, to become a child of God, the Holy Spirit will come & live in you, to be your helper, comforter & teacher to teach us all things, esp, the Bible. Your faithful heart, in essence, will become a living temple of God, not made with bricks & stones.

It's carbon-dated to be between 700 - 300 BC & its content is exactly the same as what we have in the OT Bible today with various translations, of course. American universities are lovely,american families are happy ,i love america,but i don't know why america has killed countless men,women and children in IRAQ,no afghan was involve in 9-11,but why america is destroying houses of muds in Afghanistan.

Obama should withdraw troops from IRAQ and Afghanistan and let the world ,including Americans, in peace.

@skworq You'll note that there will be periods of warming, respect for each other, followed by HUGE discords and discontent with " Other religions are teaching/preaching false doctrine , WE are the way ". NOW recently, since another religion has claimed that " lslam is of the devil" & has gotten HUGE TV & news coverage, you'll see all major religions banding together to fight this guy and his tribe. That'll keep them occupied with " that" 4 a awhile, they'll go back 2 there old ways soon enough.

How do thinking people believe in this mythical, iron-age-illiterate, story-book nonsense = religion? How do people gullibly fall for the existence of angels, afterlife with an imaginary boss in the sky, miracles, virgin birth, etc.? Religion is a childish story-book fiction. If taken seriously, religion is a fraudulent fabrication based on fictitious characters that, thus far have failed to offer verifiable proof of their existence.

Born agains christians are a dying faith. They go to church every Sunday in T Shirts, Flip Flops, Blue Jeans...listen to a 45 min sermon...then rush like hell to get to Cracker Barrel First. They have NO spiritual depth at all. Church is a Social Club.
Is that your faith? Most "born agains" do not even study their bible....they sit in front of TV and watch American Idol.

Yes we do have proof of remnant apes that dont pose a threat to humans - gorrilas/orangutans/chimps. Even now humans are still trying to eliminate each othr thrgh race/religion. It is just that we refuse to look ourselves in the mirror and we use things like religion/race to justify our greed,hatred and discomfort with people different from ourselves

Religion doesn't justify our greed and hatred towards others, It simply gives peole hope. Sure there is some violence involved in it, but it does also keep people in control. If there wasn't religion, people would go absolutly nuts considering the fact that there wouldn;t be an eternal punishment such as hell. I am not saying other gods may not exist for it is possible. I just know that my God exists.

you are right about the usefulness of religion in society, like i said we may not be ready for a world without religion because of our human societal limitations-so we still need to threaten the "bad"people with te damnation of eternal hell and entice them with the goodness of heaven. Good and bad exist to complement each other-without the other one cannot say which is good and which is bad. Lets pray that we can resolve this through compassion and the universal need for peace for all.

I completley agree with you! but another thing is that we are all still looking for the answer to the question of what created us. i mean we all no that everthing had to come from something. What was the first thing? it's a question that is almost impossible to answer. There is only one reasonable logical explenation. And that's Christianity

there's an ageold philosophy or theory that says existence and non-existence or yin-yang fluctuates between one with the other. If you study quantum physics carefully, it says that if u take the components of atoms further you will discover that its made of pure energy that is invisible. So our world is infact just made of pure energy manifested into physical world which u and i experience. To say that if u cant explain it then it must be God/Christianity is just adding question to question.

Numbers 32:23 - "..be sure your sins will find you out.." sounds pretty Karmatic to me... Karma is just another name for the concept of "impending judgement". Christians just have their Judge already picked out for them.

Christians dont preach karma concept because they have hell and heaven to cover that topic. The only difference is that God is the judge, as if he has the time for 6 billion people, but wait if you're a catholic you could wash your sins through confessions in church ( actually in the middle ages, confessions were a great way for the church,or the govt of that time to gather intelligence,like CIA KGB to condem the sinful.) i'm not against Christianity and I think the religion is beautiful and most part of it brings out the good side of people and what a great social life one can get from church. I wish I could belong to a faith like you but I think a lifetime of seeking the truth is what we are destined to do. Truth is I cant accept that life and GOD was that simple. Religion to me has the effect of closing minds to reality. But somehow humans are born with the GOD chip implanted to avoid brain damage. lol

I know. I am completely a christian, but in peoples eyes, everyone else is wrong. Christians are wrong, muslims are wrong, atheists are wrong, buddahs are wrong, i mean whatever happens happens. Stop fighting because of religion. You die you go to heaven or you rot in the ground for eternity or be reborn as a tree. I mean one of them has to be right. (I'd hope you go to heaven hehe) but i've chosen to belive in Jesus, even though, i still like to rationalize life as if God didn't exist.

Good question about the ape issue. I think there were many Human-like semi-intelligent beings evolving together with humans, we just killed them all and ate them. Recent archeological findings found that to be true. See we humans are not so nice in the past, we were cannibals and we still kill fellow life like dolphins whales etc.

Well no. I'm sorry, but there's no way im going to belive that we have actual evidence of evolving animals into man. i'll even look it up and notify you when i find something proving it. Evolution has too many flaws in it that can't peice together. I don't mean to contridict your belifes or anything im just saying. If that single piece of alegy could make man, brains, tecnology, mechanics, religion, war, then something isn't right...

But how do you except that? You don't even have the tinyest faith in God? Even how perfect every little thing is to allow our existance in the first place? The earth perfectly positioned, our complex brains, which i doubt could be evolved through the theory of evolution through a peice of alegy, dinosaurs dying out before our existance so we can survive, Jupiter pulling in asteroids, no harmful gases, even the fact that we arwe the only known planet with life on it? i doubt we are the only planet with life, unless you think trillions of planets out there are just pieces of rocks/gases whatever. Life is just a natural effect of the universe. Give it sometime(millions of years) life will evolve out of nothingness. Intelligent life takes a little longer. Someone has to observe the creation and destruction of the universe.

Kay, regaurdless if there is a few other planets out there with life on it, we will probably never ever discover one with intelligent life. Even so, Your so lucky to even be alive regaurding that this may be the only planet with intelligent life on it. The fact that your computer has evolved from a piece of alegy is unlikley. let alone your brain. what makes you think They have not discovered us? We are not so advance as a species, we still fight among each other, we still let our fellow human die of starvation and wars. We fight and kill over petty things like religion and politics and oil of course. If only we learn to share and consider all other humans your brothers and sisters, the world will be heaven dont you think? We dont need to die to be in heaven, we can create it right now. Well the thing about that is in the bible, God never said that there wasn't any other life he created. Therefor,he could have created it, but never menchined it in the bible because we will never find it for it could be on the other side of the universe.
You make a great point but i personally think that we could, but people are just insane, thats why we have prison, to keep bad people out of society. and that's why heaven has hell, to keep bad people out of heaven.

tool, your insight into the wonder of creation abt earth being perfectly position from the sun and that it must be God's work is myopic. If you understand astrology, earth was never always like that. Earth is orbiting the sun much like the ball tied to an elastic string that orbits the center, sun. We are currently enjoying the period of life because the window of life giving conditions is here.Eventually the sun WILL pull us in and make the earth uninhabitable. If there's GOD, this wont happen!

Myopic does not define my situation. Our time should easily be up by the time the sun pulls us in. Hell, the sun will probably burn itself out by the time that has happened. Despite the sun being perfectly positioned, we even have Jupiter to protect us from astroids due to its strong gravitational pull. Even despite that! The way our body system works and how the brain works! I could literally go on all day about this stuff to prove how perfect everything is.

just to maybe point you away from giving up your quest for knowledge, the human body was not a creation of a higher being, it took millions of years of trial and error to make. Just like the world wide Web, it was not designed to be what it is today, it started with just simple need to transmit codes, today we communicate instantaneously and enjoy youtube-the founders of the internet did not designed it for this purpose then, it just happened through the internet evolution, why cant u see that.

The internet was designed through an intelligent being. Evolution is just coinsidensial. How could allllllll of the world, technology, cities, all human kind, develope from a tiny single piece of alegy? If that were true, shouldn't we be hailing alegy as if it were God itself? in fact we are all sons of god, literarily. I believe the bible or Christ words is trying to teach us and tell us something abt humankind past but in riddle form that is very vague but i also believe we owe it to ourselves to investigate the real meanings. Sure i believe in the story abt the great flood because almost all cultures in d world has that. And yes there will be armegeddon because nothing last forever, not even God. Well, now that you mention that, the bible has specified things about armegeddon and judgement day. Oddly enough, things that the bible said would be signs of that are now appearing.
I do agree with you that we have do have the right to investigate reality and step away from the concept of God. However, you should still have faith in God without factual proof needed.
Christ actually did exist. Many, many stories have said he performed miracles and rose from the dead which increases my belief-

Not only would I not believe that, but it's the facts about Christianity that almost prove its existance. Tool, i respect your religious convictions and that you truly believe in what the bible says abt Judgement Day and that we need to repent and accept Christ. But judgement day phrophesies is part and parcel of the religion marketing. If you lived during the time of say 'Napolean, you might say that he is the antichrist and judgement day is near. You get my point-if one can apply written words in a phophetic book to just abt any age, then the answer is simple: there's no truth in that.

I get your point, but it's not like over 1-3 of the whole world is brain washed by the religion of Christianity. Not that many people would be that gullible to believe in such a thing. Sure, children might follow after their parents if they're Christian, but most of them, if not all, will grow up to understand what is real and what is not. However, Christ did exist.
