this is a great achievement for obama. the first black president aswell, isnt that like a record? anyway im british, and i was happy when obama won the election =] and so were all my friends and familys, where i lived, infact half the people i knew who are intrested in politics were happy that obama won. and btw i agree. that was a very electrifying reaction =] and i like that word >> Electrifying <<
Not only in America you had this reaction. All around the world people celebrated the victory of Obama. I for one was as just as much excited as I was dissapointed when Bush won the 2004 elections...
Nov. 4, 2008 was the day the entire world was in extacy with the Obama election cause you guys finally had made the right decision. I can only hope in 2012 you will have the same outcome and the democrats (wether it is Obama or someone else) wil win the new elections...
Well, once a president runs for re election he is the only one from his party who can be a candidate, so Obama is the only Democratic contender. But yeah, I agree with your comment
I was in DC at my university that was televised during this even. its crazy to know that ppl everywhere had the same emotion. i broke down in tears on the spot!! still makes me cry when i watch these kind of videos!
this video should be entered under the word "joy" in the dictionary. the eruption defies words. so glad it is forever preserved and able to be relived over and over.
Everytime I watch this video I have tears down my eyes and yet everytime I watch it again and again. Esp. when the CNN screen pops saying Obama elected President.
I'm a hard ass but that put a tear in my eye. I am happy for Americans and hopeful. I hope my pessimision that the system in the states is beyond repair - the corruption too deep - that this election will make no difference is wrong.
The victory party I went to in a highly red county in Washington State for Obama and the democrats featured an equally awesome reaction. I wish I had captured it...
Actually, I wish I had the foresight to have flown to Chicago and be part of it myself.
Thanks for posting this. I tried to drive down there (I live a ten minute drive south of Obama's home) but I realized I couldn't make it. I got home to see the announcement on CNN and the throngs of people. I'm proud of Obama, proud to be a Chicagoan, and proud to be an American.
I'm Canadian but I remember that moment. I almost cried when this was announced.
